Mystery: A Spark

Chapter 83 Spell
In the dark church of Morse town.
Arthur immediately got to work right in front of the Night Emblem.
Unlike Klein, he didn't believe in the goddess of night, so he didn't need to turn his back on himself.
Arthur placed the mutated Sun Emblem on the ground, then took out a candle infused with sandalwood and placed it directly below the Sun Emblem.
Then, he took out the ritual materials he carried with him, which were the flowers and pollen mentioned in the original work.
Then, Arthur took out three gold pieces that he had prepared beforehand.
It wasn't that he didn't want to prepare more, but he was afraid of taking too much and causing problems with the sealed artifact.
After all, the night watchmen aren't blind; if there's anything too obvious, it's hard to cover it up.
Furthermore, Arthur's spirituality was insufficient to support him in creating too many talismans.
Leonard and Palles watched curiously from the sidelines, eager to see what new tricks he could come up with.
Arthur, holding the carving knife and gold leaf, stood up and recited in ancient Hermes:
"The blood of the eternal sun."
"You are the undying light, the embodiment of order, the god of contracts, and the guardian of commerce."
I pray to you;
"I pray that you will grant me strength;"
"Grant me the power to complete the Sunfire Spell."
"O blood of the eternal sun, please transfer your power to my talisman..."
"Golden Hand Citron, herb belonging to the realm of the sun, please transfer your power to my talisman..."
And so, a strange scene unfolded:
A follower of the Earth Mother prays to the eternal sun in the church of the Goddess of Night.
Seeing this scene that was beyond his comprehension, Leonard was momentarily at a loss for how to react.
He glanced at the Holy Symbol of the Night not far away, then at Arthur who was praying, and felt that as a believer of the goddess, he should say something.
But Leonard thought for a moment and then didn't know what to say at that moment.
“Teacher, what do you think…” Leonard was interrupted by Palles before he could finish speaking.
"Stop arguing. I've lived for so many years, and this is the first time I've ever seen such a magical scene."
Leonard: ......
As the prayers drew to a close, the sun emblem on the ground lit up, and Arthur took the opportunity to begin drawing incantations under the guidance of the ritual.
And the sunlight outside the church windows intensified once again, just like before.
"Why are they here again?" Cohen muttered to himself in surprise as he waited outside the church.
Inside the church, Leonard looked at the sunlight outside the window, then turned back to look at Arthur, and understood something in his heart.
“Hey, this is interesting,” Pales said with a hint of amusement.
Soon, Arthur completed the drawing of the three Sunfire Talismans, and the activation incantation, like Klein's, was set to "light" in the ancient Hermes language.
He put the two talismans into his pocket, leaving only one.
Arthur introduced Leonard with a smile:
"Each one possesses demigod-level destructive power. The Yangyan Talisman is two hundred pounds each. It's a fair price, and we're honest with everyone."
"Two hundred pounds each, why don't you just rob someone?" Leonard remained unmoved.
“Kid, buy it, it’s definitely worth every penny.” Pales’s voice echoed in his mind.
Arthur smiled as he looked at Leonard, certain that Leonard would buy it.
Even if he couldn't see the value of this thing, Old Master Pales certainly could.
Leonard's expression changed several times, and he said somewhat stubbornly:
“I’ve been watching you make it, and I’ve learned how. I can make it myself now.”
“But you don’t have the materials right now,” Arthur said with an unchanged smile.
“I can find another opportunity to take this sealed artifact out; it’s very easy for me,” Leonard said confidently, quickly coming up with a plan.
"The repeated use of this sealed artifact in a short period of time will inevitably arouse suspicion among you night watchmen."
"As for the future, judging from the situation in Tingen, it's probably going to be difficult," Arthur said persuasively.
Leonard was momentarily taken aback, but quickly realized what he was doing and said:
"No, Klein was just doing the same thing as you. I can buy it from him; his price will definitely be cheaper than yours."
"He probably only has one or two at most. Given his personality, do you think he would sell something that's meant to save his life?" Arthur asked casually.
Actually, yes, it is possible. Given how short of money Klein is, he could probably easily buy one from him for a few dozen pounds.
But at times like this, Arthur naturally needs to project confidence in order to intimidate Leonard.
Leonard hesitated for a moment, then finally managed to squeeze out a sentence:
"Make it cheaper. It's not fair to sell our products at such a high price when you're using them to make talismans."
“Although I borrowed this sealing artifact, I used an ancient method of making it, so naturally I have to charge a little labor fee,” Arthur said with a light laugh.
“One hundred and eighty pounds,” Leonard tentatively said.
“Deal,” Arthur readily agreed.
"Wait, I..." Leonard suddenly wanted to change his mind.
“Think carefully, your goddess is watching you,” Arthur said, pointing to the Black Night Emblem.
Even with his unruly personality, Leonard didn't dare break his promise in front of his goddess.
He accepted the Sunfire Talisman and the mutated Sun Holy Symbol, cursing bitterly:
"Trickster."
Leonard put away the two items in his hands and asked with dissatisfaction:
"Speak, what brings you here?"
"Tsk, look at what you're saying. You're my comrade-in-arms who fought alongside me. Can't I come over and catch up with you?" Arthur said, hooking his arm around Leonard's shoulder.
"Ha, you kicked me out when you said you were going to use illegal magic. I don't have a comrade like you," Leonard said with a sneer.
"Have you night watchmen encountered anything unusual lately?" Arthur asked, changing the subject.
When the conversation turned to serious matters, Leonard stopped his sarcastic remarks. After a moment's thought, he said:
"Recently, Tinggen has been relatively calm. The Aurora Society members, who usually go crazy, have been quiet lately."
"Then there's Klein, who spends his vacations traveling around in his carriage, I don't know what he's doing."
"The most noteworthy thing is that the mysterious death of a member of parliament is rather strange."
Leonard turned to look at Arthur and asked, "What's wrong? Is there a problem?"
“There’s nothing seriously wrong. By the way, is that your colleague outside?” Arthur asked.
“Yeah, what, he’s like old Neil…” Leonard suddenly became serious.
"No, but I've noticed his face looks dark lately, so he doesn't seem to be having much luck. I'm afraid he's not really suited for missions," Arthur said jokingly.
"I'll give you the money later," Leonard said before hurrying away.
Behind him, Arthur chuckled softly:
"I wonder if this counts as playing the role of a schemer in advance..."
Chapter 84 Boom!!
Friday night, 6 Zotland Street, Blackthorn Security.
"Klein, didn't you go to investigate Mrs. Sharon? How did you find out about the problem so quickly?" Dunn put down his newspaper, looked at Klein who had suddenly appeared at the door, and asked with a strange expression.
Whether his luck was good or bad was hard to say, he seemed to have some kind of attraction that made all sorts of things revolve around him.
Klein, unaware that Dunn was internally criticizing him, nodded solemnly and said:
"Yes, Captain, I suspect that Mrs. Sharon is a member of the Witch Cult."
“The Witch Cult…” Dunn’s expression turned serious as he began to inquire about the details of Klein’s previous investigation.
Klein then truthfully recounted what he had seen when he infiltrated Mrs. Sharon's residence.
As Dunn listened to Klein's account, his expression gradually became serious.
He made a decision quickly:
“We must act immediately. Go and call Cohenley, and then we’ll apply for another sealing artifact. That would be safer.”
Dunn paused, thought for a moment, and then continued:
“Use the sealed item 3-0217, the Mirror of the Spirit Communicator.”
"Yes, Captain." Klein responded and immediately ran to the recreation room to call out Cohen Lee.
Tonight, Luo Yao is on duty at the Chanis Gate, Leonard is resting, Sigia Teon is inspecting places such as Raphael Cemetery, and old Neil is still resting in the church.
Therefore, Dunn could only choose between Frye and Cohenley. Considering that Mrs. Sharon belonged to the witch cult and had little to do with the undead, he chose the latter.
Soon, the three of them were ready and set off for Olsna Street, where Mrs. Sharon lived.
However, just as they stepped out of the Blackthorn Security Company's gate, they saw Leonard strolling over leisurely.
"Leonard, what brings you here? Aren't you supposed to be off today?" Klein asked, somewhat surprised.
"I missed you guys, so I came to see you," Leonard joked.
Hmm~ Why does this guy seem to be getting more and more gay...? After hearing this, Klein couldn't help but shudder.
At this moment, Dunn suddenly said in a deep voice:
