Tony's brow furrowed, and he took several deep breaths, reminding himself not to stoop to the level of an old man.
He walked to the back of the truck, looked at the metal box inside, and frowned slightly.
After visual inspection, there's no need to even try; it's definitely too heavy to move.
"Please wait a moment."
Tony dashed into the house, and two minutes later, he emerged wearing an Iron Man suit.
"What do you think of my outfit? Do I look good?"
Tony straightened his back and struck a pose, signaling the old man to be more polite. He himself felt it was childish, but for some reason, he just wanted to do it.
"You're such a loser! Stop talking nonsense and move your stuff out of here."
"Huh?" Tony glared at the other person, this time he really couldn't stand it anymore.
"Um!?"
"..."
When the other person glared at him, Tony didn't say anything. He sheepishly unloaded his goods and, after a quick glance, realized that the person seemed to be quite formidable.
"Wait a minute, you haven't said who the sender is yet!" Tony raised his hand and called out to the delivery truck that was about to leave.
"Let me see~ The sender is Howard Stark."
"What!?"
A package from Howard Stark!
Tony stared blankly at the metal box in front of him. His deceased father had sent him a package, which Jarvis had checked, but there was no return address or return date; it was as if the package had appeared out of thin air.
The deliveryman Jarvis also checked and confirmed that he is a real person, though he has many different identities and has even served as a general.
Strangely, no one discovered the old man's multiple identities.
"This is so strange."
Tony frowned, then suddenly his pupils dilated. When they refocused, he seemed to have forgotten about the deliveryman, and Jarvis, who was next to him, didn't remind him either.
The metal box was opened, and Tony reached out and brushed his hand over the diaries, flipping to the last one, which was a videotape.
He couldn't help but grin; to be honest, he was a little scared.
The previous videotape was a countdown to the father's death. Could this one be the mother?
After a fierce internal struggle, he picked up the videotape and played it. If the images were nightmarish, he only hoped to find clues about the killer.
After a brief flash of light, the main event begins. Howard Stark appears on the screen, his slicked-back hair perfectly combed, exuding energy and the aura of a successful man.
Seeing that face, Tony couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy; in his memory, his father hadn't been this young.
"That bastard, he's so old, yet he looks younger than me."
Tony muttered to himself, while Howard smiled slightly in the scene and said, "Tony, aren't you envious of me regaining my youth?"
Forget about it, you don't have a chance, and I won't give you one either.
Howard then looked sullen in the video, paused for a moment, and then laughed again.
“Tony, by the time you see this videotape, Maria and I will be dead. There was nothing we could do; the enemy was too powerful.”
"Of course, perhaps I didn't die, but just lost everything, becoming a slave without a self, an empty shell like a walking corpse..."
“Tony, I won’t tell you who the enemy is, and I don’t want you to avenge us. They’re not opponents you can challenge…”
"This world is far more vast than you imagine, full of infinite unknowns and possibilities. You may find it unbelievable, but I must warn you, myths are all true..."
"Tony, remember never to be arrogant. Always approach the world with a sense of awe!"
The video ended there, with Howard's words of concern throughout, and he even offered a bit of inspirational advice at the end.
Tony finished reading in a daze, and was a little disappointed when he couldn't find his mother's image. Then, he repeatedly looked at and pondered the text, trying to find the hidden code.
However, it wasn't; it was just an ordinary video.
"So, tell me clearly who the enemy is!"
Tony rubbed his temples, ignoring the motivational speeches and long ramblings, trying to find clues about the enemy, but was confused by Howard's attitude.
Knowing he was doomed, he remained remarkably calm. While one might call it composure, his tone was unusually solemn, oscillating between seriousness and nonchalance.
I felt like I was about to die, but I wasn't panicked at all, because there was a high chance I wouldn't die.
Various self-contradictions.
"In the end, you still died."
Tony shook his head, trying to clear his mind of the jumbled thoughts. The videotape was too late. He was absolutely certain that his father, Howard, had been murdered by the enemy in an extremely brutal manner.
If not worse, the mother Maria's situation is similar.
After being missing for fifteen years, Tony received such a cruel result. He clenched his fists. From this day forward, he was not only the superhero Iron Man, but also an Avenger.
The videotape played on a loop. Tony sat quietly for a moment and began to organize the notes his father had left him. What he saw next made him feel terrible.
The knowledge recorded in the notebooks far exceeded his imagination, and was many years ahead of the current era. He could pick out any one of the notebooks at random, and the knowledge contained therein could bring him countless riches.
A groundbreaking achievement?
No, rather than being an era-defining leap, it's more like stepping directly into the Milky Way.
"You guy..."
Tony stared in disbelief at Howard on the screen, asking, "What happened back then? Who were you fighting? Where did you get your knowledge from?"
Three questions in a row went unanswered. Tony swallowed hard, his hands trembling as he picked up the notebook and examined it word by word.
As he flipped through notebooks, he quickly found the upgraded version of the Ark Reactor: a completely new element that perfectly replaced palladium as the energy output.
In addition to drawing the particle structure of the new element, this notebook also indicates that a finished product has been made, and that the new element can be synthesized with the help of an accelerator by bombarding it with alpha rays from naturally radioactive elements.
"He did it on purpose, like disciplining a child."
Tony slammed his notebook shut, feeling utterly humiliated by his deadbeat father's display of arrogance.
Moreover, he knew that this was only the beginning.
Sure enough, the ten red-covered notebooks contained hundreds of Iron Man suit designs drawn with a series of blueprints, including the nano armor he had been envisioning but had been stalled due to technical problems.
The notes contain a lot of blank space, with no blueprints, only subsequent concept art, such as an Iron Man suit with Infinity Stones embedded in it.
"There are six Infinity Stones in the universe, each with infinite energy. I have only studied two so far. Due to material limitations, I cannot embed them into armor. Vibranium is also not perfect. Perhaps magic will be the best way to solve the problem."
Tony tapped the last line of text in his notebook with his fingertip. A few unfamiliar words made him subconsciously purse his lips. He took several deep breaths to calm himself down, but in the end, he couldn't hold back.
"Damn it, what exactly happened back then? Were you abducted by aliens, or did you go to the future? Tell me!"
Tony was driven to the brink of madness by his curiosity. The technology in the notebook was so sophisticated that it could be used right out of the box, but he felt no sense of accomplishment whatsoever.
So Tony is more concerned about what Howard went through in his life fifteen years ago, no, from the time Howard stopped aging.
Tony's intuition told him that this was very important.
With his boundless imagination, he conceived a wild idea: Howard discovered a mysterious force, infiltrated it, and because of the force's insane plan to destroy the world, Howard rebelled and was tragically killed.
Just as Tony was about to lose his mind, Jarvis suddenly spoke up: "Sir, Nick Fury from S.H.I.E.L.D. has arrived and is waiting for you in the living room."
"Who?"
Tony was stunned and speechless: "Jarvis, how did he get in? Did you let him in?"
"No, he had your fingerprint lock and password, and opened the door himself."
Damn!
Tony cursed inwardly. He knew that Nick Fury's purpose in visiting was nothing more than related to Monaco, but with a whole box of knowledge in front of him, he had no time to waste on a dull-looking guy.
"Tell the robber in the living room that I'm not home, and call the police station to say that a thief broke into my house."
Jarvis replied, “Sir, Nick Fury knows you’re home, and you called the police last time, and it turns out he’s licensed.”
Tony's face was long, but suddenly his eyes lit up. If Jarvis couldn't find the information, S.H.I.E.L.D. might be able to. He asked Jarvis to save the two videos and then went upstairs to the living room.
"Chief Fury, please have a seat..."
Oh, you're already seated. You're too kind of yourself.
Tony greeted him warmly and said politely, "Your complexion is as enigmatic as ever!"
Let me guess how you managed to come here. The plantation must be on holiday.
Would you like some fruit?
"Jarvis, give this uninvited guest a glass of freshly squeezed watermelon juice."
“Tony Stark, it’s a complete mess outside, and I’m amazed that you can maintain such a good attitude.”
"No, I'm about to explode. I've never been this confused in the past fifteen years."
Having witnessed Tony's talkativeness firsthand, Nick Fury didn't think twice and asked directly, "I'm here for the Mysterio man from Monaco. He has your Iron Man suit. Can you tell me what's going on?"
Tony paused for a moment, then said reluctantly, "That's not my Iron Man suit, nor is it my technology. The technology in that Iron Man suit is far more advanced than mine."
"you sure?"
Do I look like I'm joking?
Nick Fury narrowed his eyes slightly: "To be honest, sometimes I can't tell if you're talking nonsense or answering questions seriously."
"My pleasure."
Tony shrugged and stared at Nick Fury seriously. "I'm serious. My Iron Man suit is outdated. It's a decades-old product from start to finish."
"What do you mean?"
"literal meaning……"
Tony chuckled to himself, "Someone invented the Iron Man suit a long time ago, before I was even born."
“Tony Stark, I’m not here to listen to your nonsense, but to help you out of your current predicament.”
"Director Fury, this world is far more vast than you imagine, full of endless unknowns and possibilities. You may find it unbelievable, but I must warn you, myths are real..."
"?"
Nick Fury's expression changed slightly; he sensed that Tony's mental state was off today, as he seemed deeply affected.
