The Embers of King's Teyvat Journey
Page 104
"It's just strange. How could someone see us in the space-time rift?" The second one, controlling a dragon hand, scratched his head.
“There are many strange things, such as why our wife ran away. Isn’t that strange?” The Dragon King’s fourth head also joined the conversation.
He had been sending messages into space with his eyes closed for too long and was getting tired; he needed to rest.
Platonsant was the original king of the Elden Ring. In the borderlands, the supreme rulers were a king and a god; the king was in charge of practical affairs, and the god was in charge of spiritual beliefs.
Kings and gods are usually a pair of partners who jointly govern the borderlands. However, the dragon god, who was also the dragon king's partner, left the borderlands long ago, and no one knows why.
Even the Dragon King himself didn't know. He simply waited, even going so far as to venture into the space-time rift, just because it could counteract the erosion of time.
However, when Ember woke up in Famyazra, he saw that the Dragon King was on the verge of collapse.
Three of its five heads were missing, and its body was riddled with holes. Even the flight that the ancient dragon race was born with was extremely difficult for the Dragon King at that time.
He just managed to hide in the cracks of time and space, living a lonely life. If it weren't for Ember, he'd probably be dead by now.
"Do you think these damn 'antennas' are even useful?" The last leader of the Dragon Kings, looking at the towering pillars at the edge of the Time-Space Altar, couldn't help but speak up.
The bald man said that if these stone pillars were transformed into antennas, their calls could be amplified and heard throughout the entire universe!
But they've been calling for so long, why hasn't the Dragon God returned yet? Could he be lying to them?
You have to understand that they spent several days extracting materials for these antennas, and now the storm in the spacetime rift is making them a little cold.
"Hmph! If you ask me, you're all a bunch of dragon-lickers. Why are we still looking for her? She left without a word back then. If she wanted to come back, she would have come back long ago!" The dragon head in the middle of the Dragon King scoffed at the sycophantic behavior of his other heads.
However, the other heads clearly disagreed with the top three's statement.
"Does licking your own wife count as licking? I don't think so."
"Hey, which female dragon have you set your sights on this time? They're all your descendants, you can't act like an animal!"
"No way! I remember our wife hits really hard. If she comes back and sees us partying, she'll beat us to death!"
“Our wife should be looking for a way to deal with the Beast Elden. Now that the Beast Elden has been killed by the new king, it’s time to call her back.”
Upon hearing this, all four of the Dragon King's heads stared at the second-in-command, because it was he who had uttered the last sentence.
Those eight little golden eyes seemed to be saying: We all came from the same dragon egg, so why are you being so serious?
"What...what are you looking at me for! Did I say something wrong?" The second one looked at the other four versions of himself, tilting his head back slightly. Had he said something wrong?
"No, Second Brother, we're all very pleased with you. From now on, you should eat first, and try to make your head grow even bigger!"
The other four heads looked at the second-in-command with relief. With him around, they didn't have to worry about being deceived.
"What is all this nonsense? If you have nothing to do, just keep sending messages. Otherwise, you'll be bored all the time!" The second-in-command felt that he couldn't get along with them, so he simply closed his eyes again and started sending out his brainwaves.
Seeing that the two heads had begun their work, and not wanting to disturb the others, they raised themselves again, and everything returned to stillness.
However, if someone with a strong ability to perceive mental energy were to come here, they would discover that within the spacetime rift of Famyazra, there resonates a powerful and rhythmic brainwave.
These brainwaves emanated from the Dragon King's five heads and were amplified by the pillars at the edge of the altar. They traversed the rift in space and time, reaching all the way to the outer space of the boundary.
If one has a high level of spiritual power, one can hear the information contained within. It is a call:
"Wife, come back quickly—"
……
The Dragon King's affectionate call echoed and echoed, until it reached the ears of the Supreme Will.
Hearing the Dragon King's affectionate and lingering call, the Supreme Will picked at his ears, unable to hold back any longer.
Why has this border region become so unruly ever since Ember arrived? Where did that once solemn and imposing border region go?
"Scream, scream, scream! If you keep screaming, I'll smash your lair again!" The Supreme Will spat inwardly. Back then, he summoned a meteor that destroyed the Eternal City, along with Famyazra.
"What?" Patch stopped writing and asked the Supreme Will. Had he just heard something incredible?
"There's nothing there, you misheard!" The Supreme Will looked at the densely packed numbers on Patch's desk and thought that he was truly a genius.
Those things are just as complex as laws and the like.
"Forget it, I can't control you." Patch only hesitated for a moment before ignoring the Supreme Will. This guy lived up to his name; the more Patch probed, the more unfathomable he seemed.
They are now in a discussion room, preparing for their second crossing.
The sound of pens scratching across paper was the main melody here, and although there were many other people present, everyone tacitly remained silent.
After finishing the last number, Patch stretched and then said to the magicians not far away, "Has anyone finished? Let me see."
Determining the location of the two worlds is complicated. Although there are no mechanical computers here, there are human computers!
"Me, me, me!" Lani raised her four hands high. As one of the top magicians in the borderlands, simple calculations were naturally no problem for her.
Lani's words marked the beginning; after her, magicians continued to present Patch with their calculations.
They were all famous mages from the border region, such as Rena La, Rataen, Seren, and so on.
It looked like an exam.
Just as the group of magicians were gathered together discussing, Melina finally found an opportunity to come to Lance Sanx's side.
The latter was staring intently at a magician's notes, his eyes bulging as if he might faint at any moment.
"Lance Sanders? Lance Sanders!" Melina patted Lance Sanders on the shoulder, pulling her out of her daze.
"Huh? Melina, what's wrong?" Lance Sanx snapped out of his daze of endless numbers and patted his chest in relief.
Magic is terrifying! Prayer is much more convenient; as long as one's spiritual faith is strong enough, one can use it.
Thinking of this, Lance Sanks couldn't help but feel grateful and fortunate. Thankfully, all the dragons left behind were prayers; otherwise, Lance Sanks would probably be hauling goods.
If I can't learn magic and can't read prayers, then I can only rely on my physical strength.
“I’ve read Black Knife’s report. It seems there are very few large animals in that world. The King always walks, which is too much trouble. Take this with you.” As she spoke, Melina stretched out her hand from under her cloak, revealing a ring at the center.
“This is…” Lance Sanx picked up the Spirit Horse Whistle and examined it. It was a very strange thing, as if something resided inside it.
“Inside is the king’s mount, Torret. He really likes this little guy.” Melina recalled the time she spent traveling with Ember while staying inside, and a smile unconsciously filled her face.
"Really? I'll bring it." Lance Sanx sighed inwardly when he saw Melina's nostalgic and reminiscing expression.
Falling for Ember is even worse than her situation. Even though Vic is married, Lance Sanx can use force; she almost succeeded several times!
But Melina has fallen for Ember, so all Lance Sanx can do is wish her good luck.
Anyway, she had a feeling that when someone liked Ember, she automatically became his family. As for what position she would be, it certainly wouldn't be a partner.

"Hey! What's the relationship between this guy and Dvalin? Why does Dvalin still keep it by his side?" On Star-Picking Cliff, Ember poked the unconscious Abyss Mage with a stick and asked the crowd.
Wendy stepped forward, looked at the inhuman creature beside Ember, and said in a low voice, "Abyss mages, it really is them."
"They must have triggered the poisonous blood within Dvalin's body, further eroding him," Wendy continued to explain.
The torment of poisonous blood alone wouldn't have made Dvalin so violent, but if the corruption of the Abyss Mage were added, then it's hard to say.
Just then, the Abyss Mage awoke. Looking at the crowd surrounding it, it uttered a series of incomprehensible syllables.
“$&am!” The condensed ice mist gathered around it, and its figure gradually began to become illusory.
"Trying to escape?" Diluc sensed the anomaly the moment the elemental energy around him stirred. He instantly appeared in front of the Abyss Mage and grabbed him by the collar.
"You'd better not get any funny ideas. Otherwise, you'll regret it," Diluc casually tossed the Abyss Mage to the ground and snorted coldly.
These creatures, being monsters, possess some of the same intelligence as humans, making them extremely difficult to deal with.
"Wow! Diluc is so cool!" Paimon clapped her hands; Diluc's move just now had completely captivated her.
"Cough cough!" The Abyss Mage collapsed to the ground, coughing a few times, seemingly because Diluc had exerted too much force and it hadn't recovered.
"Heh heh, that dragon is going to serve its true master. As for Mondstadt, it will cease to exist under the Order's attack! Hahaha!"
Perhaps because he hadn't spoken human language for a long time, the Abyss Mage's tone was unclear and sharp, but fortunately everyone could still understand what he meant.
After hearing the Abyss Mage's words, the one with the most gloomy expression was not Venti, nor Diluc, but Jean.
For Jean, who was determined to protect Mondstadt, these words undoubtedly crossed her bottom line.
"Chairman Jean..." Paimon was also seeing the usually gentle Jean with such an expression for the first time, and couldn't help but feel a little scared.
"I'm fine, don't worry about me." However, Jean quickly returned to normal. She smiled gently at Paimon and comforted him.
I was really overthinking it; Mondstadt's strength is not that weak. Putting aside everyone present, even Lisa, Kaeya, who stayed behind in the city, and Abedo, who lived deep in the snowy mountains, all possess considerable power.
Since the Abyss Order wants to clash with Mondstadt, then let them! Mondstadt is confident in repelling any invading enemy!
"Hmph! Quite the boast!" Diluc also considered protecting Mondstadt his duty, and his expression didn't improve much either.
"Just asking as usual. If you have more information, I might let you go." Diluc drew his flaming two-handed sword, as if it were truly just a routine matter.
"Have you ever seen anyone who would betray the Order?" The Abyss Mage showed no panic at the sight of this scene. He had no regrets about sacrificing himself for the Order.
"Tsk, harder than stone!" Diluc wasn't surprised at all; these monsters seemed to have never had the concept of betrayal.
All the information about them was discovered by humans themselves. As for information about their internal workings, there is absolutely nothing.
"Boom!" The greatsword struck the abyss mage, and surging flames immediately spread out, quickly engulfing him.
Abyss mages without shields are just that vulnerable.
"Holy crap, they can actually talk?" Yu Jin belatedly realized that he had only ever seen one talking monster before, and that was the tall guy he killed in the Thousand Winds Temple.
As for the Abyss Mages, they were probably just easy targets before, so we didn't really pay them any attention.
"Of course, their intelligence is in no way inferior to that of humans." Wendy chuckled, having adjusted his mindset.
The Sky Harp is still there; we can just play it for Dvalin again. Judging from what we just saw, Dvalin has loosened up quite a bit.
"This is not the place to talk. Let's all go back to Dawn Winery and discuss our next move!" Qin Gu blew the wind to extinguish the flames burning on Star-Picking Cliff and said to the crowd.
Everyone nodded in agreement. Things had changed, and it was time to discuss a new plan.
"So, would you like to fly again?" Yu Jin asked, pulling out a rope and eagerly trying it out.
Everyone shook their heads like rattles, and the experience of flying through the embers together was hardly pleasant.
“Alright, let’s walk back then.” Yu Jin pulled the rope back up and stepped down first. Walking wasn’t bad either; you could enjoy the scenery.
