Seeing Uku's smug expression, Ember pointed to his palm and said:

"You of the past, I can create new flesh and soul for you, or I can grant you a dreamland that transcends reality. Which do you want?"

"My Lord God, may I see it?" Uku asked Ember.

“Of course.” Yu Jin opened his palm. In a world unseen by others, a faint sphere of light was pulsating slightly.

Uku saw a Chuchu King with several ferrets crawling on its body. It took out a few grass seeds from its waist and threw them on the ground.

But the ferret didn't even look, while the Chuchu King itself was extremely anxious—because it had just thrown away the flower feather that Ember had given it.

Picking up the flower feather, the Chuchu King wiped away non-existent dust and placed it on his waist—on the other side of the grass seed.

“I want to stay with it. It’s a bit slow, and I’m worried about it,” Uku said.

“Is that so?” Yu Jin smiled.

Then a faint light flashed from the peacock feather at Wuku's waist. Beneath the feather, an open eye gazed intently at its surroundings.

Life always finds a way out, even in the face of divine curses.

Chapter 50 An Object that Condenses Longing

2023-08-28

"Hey! I'm leaving! Uku!" Ember stood not far from Uku and said to the two newborn creatures behind him.

"Alright! Goodbye, King Chuchu!" Uku raised his thick arm and waved, mimicking Ember's gesture.

"Goodbye, my divine being." Beside Uku, a fiery red celestial spirit spoke in human language and shook itself up and down at Ember.

His homeland had been buried by wind and snow, and now, the scribe Wuku had only two wishes in his heart: to see his homeland and to watch over Wuku. Therefore, he chose the immortal spirit as his future body.

"Don't call me Qiuqiu Huang or God. I have a name. My name is Yu Jin." Yu Jin complained a little about how the two addressed him, then turned and left.

A celestial being with sentience and a Hilichurl born from a curse, plus his Vision—such an interesting combination is bound to lead to an interesting path.

The wind and snow could no longer bring any cold to the embers. In any case, he never expected that such a dazzling light awaited his discovery in the snow-capped mountains.

After bidding farewell to Uku, Ember continued along the road. Unexpectedly, he hadn't gone far when a camp appeared ahead.

"This time we're really lucky, we found a new clue so quickly." That was what Yu Jin thought at first, but he soon stopped smiling.

Reaching his arm into the unmelting ice, Ember pulled out a new journal. He glanced at it and saw it was in the handwriting of Joel's father, Joseph.

"How the hell can you run like that?!" Yu Jin nearly tore the log up after reading it. Because in the log, Joseph said he was going to attempt to summit the snow-capped mountain!

Why didn't Uku beat him up back then? Ember wondered to himself. Joseph wanted to get here, and meeting Uku was a certainty.

Ember didn't think Joseph could defeat a Hilichurl King, even with his extensive adventure experience. It was probably just that he hadn't disturbed the ferret, so Uku hadn't attacked him.

"Sigh~, let's go, let's climb a mountain, it'll be good for our health." Yu Jin muttered to himself, and continued his ascent to higher ground.

Following the clues in the logbook, Ember once again traversed the snow-capped mountains. It must be said that Joseph's legs were truly remarkable; after reaching the western side of the snow-capped mountains, he turned back to the eastern side, all in order to charge towards the summit.

"Ha! Ha! I'm exhausted." An iron hand rested on the lower edge of the Seven Gods Statue in the Snow Burial City, and then Ember's entire body flipped up.

Standing up, Ember glanced at the seven statues beside him. They depicted the image of Barbatos.

The towering statues of the Seven Gods emitted a blue light and a faint warmth, making this a welcome place in this desolate place.

I've heard from others that the Seven Gods Statues and the teleportation anchors on the mainland can be used for teleportation, but nobody knows how to use them.

Yu Jin also studied it, but because it was a bit complicated, he was afraid of damaging this ancient civilization relic. In addition, he wasn't too keen on teleportation, so he gave up on it.

After resting for a while by the Seven Gods statue, Ember bypassed the large pit of the ancient civilization ruins and ran towards the path leading to the mountaintop as described in the logbook.

"How the hell can someone get past that?" Yu Jin only ran for a short while before retreating. In less than a quarter of an hour, his armor was covered in ice crystals.

He believed that only a fool would risk such a heavy snowstorm to reach the summit.

“He must have gone somewhere else.” Yu Jin shook off the ice crystals on his body, turned his back to the rock wall of the road, and began to think.

He walked while rubbing against the rock wall behind him—because Ember felt that the ice crystals behind him hadn't been cleared away.

"Clang! Clang! Clang!" Suddenly, pebbles hit Yu Jin's body, making a series of crisp metallic clanging sounds.

"Huh?" Yu Jin turned around and realized that he had somehow ended up leaning against a pile of fresh soil. The pebbles had fallen from the still unfrozen soil.

Yu Jin immediately had a bad feeling. He looked at the mound of earth three or four meters high in front of him. He pulled back his arm and threw a punch!

"Boom!" Dust scattered, and Yu Jin emerged from the billowing smoke, looking at the newly appeared space.

As he expected, there was a simple camp not far ahead. Yu Jin jogged over and saw a logbook lying in the center of the camp.

Picking up the logbook and looking at the somewhat messy handwriting, Ember thought Joseph might be dead.

He looked at it, and aside from some words that sounded like a last will and testament, the main information was that Joseph was preparing to escape towards the cliff at the end of the cave.

"Well, let's see." Although Yu Jin felt the chances were slim, he still decided to go and take a look first.

Walking further into the cave, the narrow entrance soon opened up into a wide-open space. The cave abruptly ended here, revealing a snow-covered cliff in front of it.

Without delay, Yu Jin walked straight down the cliff. All he could see was pure white snow.

However, his vision soon changed – there was a small gray-black dot at the bottom of the cliff.

Ember switched from walking to running, rapidly descending the cliff. Upon reaching the bottom, he noticed something out of place—a backpack.

I picked up the backpack and rummaged through it. There were some supplies that were already frozen and unusable, and a copy of "The Wild Boar Princess, Volume 6" that was frozen solid.

"He's really dead." Yu Jin sighed. Life is unpredictable. He had originally planned to give Joseph a good talking-to after finding him, but alas, he was gone.

He searched around and eventually found Joseph's body huddled under the thick snow not far from his backpack.

"Alright, I can't let you rot in the wilderness." Ember picked up Joseph's stiff corpse, grabbed his backpack, and leaped back into the cave.

"Clang, clang." The sound of embers digging into the hard soil echoed in the silent cave.

After placing Joseph's body, along with his backpack, in the pit, Ember said, "Don't worry, I'll take care of Joel."

Then they buried him in the cave.

"Phew!" Yu Jin sat in the camp and looked at a small mound of earth not far away. This was the first time he had dug a grave for someone else. In the past, he would kill but not bury.

“Eek—” Just as Yu Jin was about to go down the mountain, he saw several little foxes circling around Joseph’s grave in the distance.

"Is he also a little guy trapped here?" Ember looked around, then thought of the few remaining supplies in Joseph's backpack.

What a kind-hearted guy.

"How did you get up here?" Yu Jin asked, quite curious, and tossed some jerky to them.

However, foxes cannot speak; they simply lower their heads and eat the jerky that the embers gave them. These little guys must have been hungry for a long time.

Thanks to the jerky, Ember was finally able to pet the fox. Unfortunately, due to the gauntlet, he couldn't quite feel what the fox fur actually looked like.

"Let's go, I'll take you down." After petting the fox for a while, Yu Jin prepared to lead them down the mountain.

But the little foxes scattered all at once, and just as Ember was wondering if he had no affinity with animals, he heard the foxes calling again.

Looking in the direction of the sound, they saw several foxes digging in the dirt in a corner of the cave. Before long, they brought out four glowing blue objects and placed them at Ember's feet.

Ember bent down and picked up the gifts the little creatures had given him. They were a flower, a feather, a cup, and a crown.

"Something formed from longing?" Yu Jin looked at the four objects and could feel the courage within them—a courage to forge ahead, fearless, and march towards the mountain.

"Is it you again?" Yu Jin looked at the grave mound not far away, and he wavered.

Picking up the four relics left behind by Joseph, and carrying the little fox in the cave, Ember ran down the mountain.

Ember descended the mountain much faster than he had ascended it, and soon he was back at the camp with ease—the little fox had run away as soon as he came down the mountain.

"Joel, I'm back. I can't find him." Ember spotted Joel waiting anxiously at the camp entrance at a glance.

"Oh, really? Thank you, Uncle." Joel slumped down for a moment, but he quickly recovered and said to Ember:

"Uncle, I have nothing to repay you with. This pocket watch was given to me by my father. I'm giving it to you. You're an adventurer, and you'll definitely be able to take it with you to go even further."

"Is that so?" Yu Jin took the pocket watch, feeling the pulse emanating from the five sacred relics. He pondered for a moment, then looked up at the snow-capped mountain.

"Give it a try?" Yu Jin muttered in a barely audible voice.

Then a smile appeared on his lips, "Let's give it a try!"

Chapter 51 Light and Darkness

2023-08-28

"Boom!" The Dragon Ridge Snow Mountain, standing tall on the earth, was still shrouded in wind and snow. However, this time, within the raging storm, a faint flash of fire could be seen.

The snowstorms outside Dragonspine Mountain were indeed terrifying, but they were no match for Ember, whose power was being unleashed.

He started from the foot of the mountain and braved the blizzards that never subsided, rushing all the way to the mountainside of Longji Snow Mountain.

“Tap!” Ember stepped lightly beside the Seven Gods statue in the Snow Burial City. Only two hours had passed between his departure and his return.

He glanced at the sky; the sun was already setting. If he delayed any longer, Joel might not see his father that night.

Ember quickly ran to Joseph's grave, looked at the still relatively fresh soil, and then dug Joseph out.

However, after thinking about it again, he buried it back. His actions could hardly be considered a true resurrection.

Standing up, Ember ran to the bottom of the cliff at the end of the cave, to the place where Joseph had died.

Watching the hole he had dug again being filled with snow again, Ember couldn't help but marvel once more at the sheer intensity of the snowstorms on Dragonspine Mountain.

However, no matter how heavy the snowstorm, it will dissipate as long as the sun shines!

"Crack... crackle... whoosh—whoosh—, whoosh!"

Beneath the armor of the embers, a torrent of sparks began to erupt! At this moment, the embers' body was like an infinitely large furnace, devouring the wind and clouds while spewing out the fire and smoke of the soul!

Sparks erupted continuously, swirling around the embers, melting the snow and illuminating the world.

As the embers stretched out one hand, the flames that had spread across the heavens and earth seemed to have found their target and began to gather in his palm.
