Chapter Sixty-Eight: I Will Swear Allegiance to You (Bonus Chapter 1/5)

Once someone makes a move against Nan Yunya, it will naturally attract the attention of some people, especially potential rebels in the second year.

This news was not surprising to Suzuki Tetsu, since Nagumo Masaru's dominance over the grade was based on his personal strength.

If one suffers failure and setbacks, it is inevitable that doubts will arise, or even assassination attempts.

"Which senior is interested in me?" Suzuki Tetsu noticed out of the corner of his eye that Tachibana Akane quietly stood up from the chairman's throne and stood obediently to the side.

Noticing Suzuki Toru's gaze, she gave a soft snort and immediately turned her gaze away.

Where did this guy hide the snacks?

“You’ve met him, Kiriyama from Class 2-A,” Horikita said. “But he’s outnumbered and doesn’t dare to openly defy Nagumo.”

Suzuki Tetsu recalled the scene from his second year of high school, where there was indeed a leader named Kiriyama Ikuha, who was also a member of the student council.

"The president seems to know him?"

Judging from Horikita Manabu's appearance, the relationship between the two seems to be quite close; otherwise, Horikita Manabu wouldn't know that the other party was interested in him.

“There is a connection. I happened to be there when the former chairman interviewed him.” Horikita Manabu was unwilling to talk about this topic.

"So, the president trained a rebel in the second year, and then picked me from the first year?" Suzuki Tetsu winked at him.

Horikita Manabu paused for a moment: "I've observed the first-year students. Most of them are just barely passing. As for the rest, you are particularly impressive in every aspect."

I'm a little concerned about what he means by anything he says; it seems like he's praising me, but it also seems like he's not.

“In that case, I’ll meet with Kiriyama-senpai,” Suzuki Toru said. “Where is he currently?”

Regarding this, Horikita Manabu replied with a strange expression and a hint of helplessness, "Kiriyama is very wary of Nagumo and won't contact you openly. He wants to meet you near the dormitory, around 10 p.m.

Although there are cameras in many places on campus, there are fewer around the student dormitories, and there are also a few hidden spots that are difficult to see.

Like yesterday's conversation between the siblings, if Horikita Manabu hadn't called him over, almost no one would have noticed that the student council president was disciplining his sister.

Horikita Manabu thought Suzuki Toru would nod in agreement, but to his surprise, he simply nodded slightly.

"I'll talk to Kiriyama-senpai when I have time."

Unlike Kiriyama Ikuha, Suzuki Tetsu wasn't very interested in him; he was just a cowardly guy.

Besides, it's him who needs Toru Suzuki now, not the other way around.

Horikita Manabu hesitated, knowing full well that Suzuki Tetsu was now trying to manipulate Kiriyama Ikuha, so he could only keep his mouth shut.

Once he graduates, Kiriyama Ikuha will basically have no one to rely on, and the other party will only be able to deal with people like Suzuki Toru.

This only forces Kiriyama Ikuba to adapt to Suzuki Toru's style in advance and accept his fate of being manipulated.

"By the way, does the student council president know Kiryuin-senpai?" Suzuki Tetsu suddenly asked.

“I’ve heard of her name, but I don’t know much about her.” Horikita Manabu frowned. “Why are you suddenly asking about this?”

"I'm a little interested in this senior." Suzuki Toru wouldn't tell him that he was eyeing the reward this senior was carrying.

Akane Tachibana suddenly interjected, "I've heard of this junior. She seems to be very capable, but her personality is particularly awful."

"A terrible personality?" Suzuki Toru wondered.

"I heard that she kicked the vending machine so hard it broke because it was stuck with a malfunctioning product," Tachibana Akane told him confidently. "Besides, she often does whatever she wants and fools around everywhere, even her classmates can't stand her."

"Be careful, walls have ears," Suzuki Tetsu kindly reminded her, as talking behind someone's back is ultimately a bad thing.

Akane Tachibana sulked and ignored him.

"Kiriyama mentioned her. She should be one of the more capable students in the second year, but she hasn't done anything for the class and often acts alone." Horikita Manabu neither disliked nor approved of Kiryuin Kaede's behavior.

It seems he needs to personally contact Kiryuin Kaeda.

However, he was a first-year student and had no legitimate reason to go directly to the other student's classroom.

Are we supposed to expect to bump into each other on the street?

We can only wait for Kiriyama Ikuba to come to us, and then sell Kiryuin Fuka to him.

Suzuki Tetsu was planning a chance encounter when he heard Horikita Manabu say, "It seems that Katsuragi from your class has been in contact with Nagumo recently."

He is the student council president and has also arranged for Akane Tachibana to take care of Honami Ichinose and Kohei Katsuragi, so he is quite aware of their movements.

For some reason, Katsuragi Kohei has been frequently in contact with Namigumo Masaru lately, and Tachibana Akane has also seen Katsuragi Kohei appearing among the second-year student council members from time to time.

In other words, Horikita Manabu was subtly reminding Suzuki Toru that his people might defect to Nagumo Masaru's camp.

"Don't worry about that. It's normal for Katsuragi to have his own ideas."

Suzuki Toru was fully aware of this.

……

Let's rewind to two days ago.

Nan Yunya looked at the bald boy in front of her with amusement. He was a first-year student in the same class as Suzuki Tetsu.

"Interesting. You said you want to join me. Can you tell me why?"

This newcomer was none other than Katsuragi Kohei.

Facing Nan Yunya's scrutiny, Katsuragi Kohei replied, "President Horikita will be resigning soon, and you will definitely be the student council president in the future. Instead of trying to build a good relationship with you later, it's better to pledge allegiance to you in advance."

“That reason doesn’t seem sufficient,” Nan Yunya said slowly. “I value strength highly, and you don’t meet my aesthetic standards at all. Why should I accept your allegiance?”

"To be honest, there are currently two factions in Class A, one of which is me. If you can help me suppress Sakayanagi and Suzuki, the first-year students will also become your helpers." Katsuragi Kohei lowered his head slightly.

Nan Yunya remained silent for a moment, then Dianhe leaned down and whispered a few words in his ear.

After a while, he suddenly smiled.

"So Suzuki is your enemy?"

Kohei Katsuragi nodded and explained, "If you don't believe me, you can ask the students in Class A. Suzuki usually gets very close to the students of the Sakayanagi school."

“No need, I’m willing to believe you, Katsuragi.” Nan Yunya’s eyes were sharp. How could he possibly believe such a crude explanation? It was most likely a spy sent to him by Suzuki Toru.

This is simply outrageous! They completely disregarded him, thinking they could fool such a spy?

Nan Yunya barely suppressed her anger and maintained a smile on the surface.

"As long as you can satisfy me, I will of course help you defeat Suzuki."

Heh, since you've sent out a spy, he'll just pretend he doesn't know anything and accept it without question. Let's see who can outsmart whom!

Chapter Sixty-Nine: I'll be there soon.

Just as Nagumo Masahiro guessed, Katsuragi Kohei was indeed a spy sent by Suzuki Toru to his side.

Generally speaking, most people would simply refuse to accept the package in this situation, but there are exceptions.

Nan Yunya felt he had been provoked and mocked. Given his usual arrogant demeanor, he would most likely retaliate and give Suzuki Tetsu a good slap in the face.

Nothing is more satisfying than taking your opponent's move in the bud and then retaliating tenfold.

They turned the tables and used Katsuragi Yasuhira against him.

However, Suzuki Tetsuya didn't have high expectations for Katsuragi Kohei.

Rather than waiting for Nan Yunya to make a move in secret, it's better to send him a tool that you know well, so that he can at least know some of Nan Yunya's thoughts.

So that they won't be caught off guard by Nan Yunya, and then they can take further action based on that.

In reality, Suzuki Tetsuya really hoped that Nagumo Masaru would learn from him and send a beautiful female spy to his side, such as Asahina Nazuna.

However, this is probably impossible to achieve.

What he didn't know was that Asahina Nagisa went back and told Nagumo Masaru about what had happened to him.

Well, I didn't mention foot massage, since it involves a girl's privacy and I'm a little shy about it.

Even after hearing that Suzuki Tetsu had helped his childhood friend to the infirmary, Nagumo Masaru was still filled with doubt and suspicion, recalling his first meeting with Suzuki Tetsu.

Damn, is this guy eyeing his childhood sweetheart?

Just thinking about this made Nan Yunya feel uneasy.

Although Asahina Nazuna seems approachable, she is by no means easy to win over.

If even he couldn't win over a woman, then a mere junior classmate would be no match for her.

But for some reason, she had a bad feeling, which made Nangumo Masako not feel like dealing with Suzuki Tetsu. She had been following Asahina Nazuna around for the past few days.

After all, they were just injured and needed to be taken care of.

If Nan Yunya knew that her delicate feet, which she had never even touched, had been touched by a junior student, she might break down.

Therefore, Suzuki Toru has been taking it easy lately.

……

Just like last time, Toru Suzuki brought Masumi Kamuro to the library for tutoring again.

This time, however, he deliberately sat next to Hiyori Shiina, which made Masumi Kamuro look annoyed.

"Good afternoon, Shiina-kun." Suzuki Toru greeted the girl who was reading a book.

Upon hearing his voice, Shiina Hiyori looked up, a hint of confusion on her face. Seeing his expression, she seemed to remember something, and then a smile slowly blossomed on her face.

"good afternoon!"

The girl's tone seemed somewhat cheerful. Suzuki Tetsu sat next to her, and from time to time, a faint fragrance could be smelled; he wondered what brand of shampoo it was.

“I’ve finished reading the book you gave me, and it’s very good.” Suzuki Tetsu handed the novel back to her. “To be honest, this is the first time I’ve read a novel of this genre. Both the plot and the writing style are amazing.”

Based on their first encounter, it's easy to deduce that Hiyori Shiina is probably a girl who reads mystery novels.

You can cater to the other person's preferences a little, because this is the first time Suzuki Toru has ever seen someone recommend a novel to a complete stranger.

Moreover, she appears to be alone.

Does that mean there aren't many people you can usually talk to about novels?

"It seems Suzuki-kun really likes it. I was worried it might be a problem for you." Shiina Hiyori breathed a sigh of relief, then felt a little happy. This was the joy of recommending something.

"It may be a bit presumptuous, but I don't think I saw Shiina with any of her classmates."
