“No problem, you’re the only partner Headmaster Dumbledore has ever acknowledged.” Nietzsche casually handed the blowgun needle to the other man and said sincerely, “You know… I would never lie to you.”
"What lie or not..." Hermione gritted her teeth, seized the opportunity to grab his left hand, and leaned forward slightly.
At this distance, both of them could clearly feel each other's breath on their faces, but at least it was effective, because Hermione caught the embarrassment and fright on Nietzsche's face.
Clearly, he can't remain calm about everything.
“Darling, do you think I would believe you?” Hermione’s voice trembled, making it sound uneven.
“At least I’m 90 percent honest.” Nietzsche heard the sound of bubbles bursting in the crucible and said with a straight face, “The potion will fail. Smaug’s flames are hotter than we usually can.”
He shifted his body, licking his teeth with his tongue.
While stirring with the wand, he would glance around from time to time, each glance lasting no more than three seconds.
Hermione, on the other hand, is like a victorious bird that has escaped a fight. She has finally grasped Nietzsche's weakness, but this method cannot be used often because she cannot let the other party get used to it, so she must always be careful with her words.
Ron pulled Neville along to admire the centaurs, ostensibly to observe their habits... which surprised Hagrid somewhat.
Harry was responsible for working with the other centaurs who returned from patrol to slice the meat with a knife, roasting some for himself that evening and leaving the rest for Smaug.
With Hermione's help, the Hellfire Potion and the Forgetfulness Potion were quickly prepared.
“Are you sure this will make those wizards leave?” Bain picked up a syringe with his fingernail and examined it against his nose. “It doesn’t even look as good as our bows and arrows and iron spears.”
“One of these... is enough to knock out a small horned beast.” Nietzsche casually rubbed the remaining powder from the grinding process onto the dragon’s wings.
Smaug: Roar?
Coma, amnesia—a single combo is enough to make an intruder forget something forever.
The centaurs didn't need to worry about their territory being invaded, and they could also avoid being expelled by the Ministry of Magic for harming wizards... After a long period of understanding, Nietzsche learned about the centaurs' proud and rigid character.
Because they do not acknowledge themselves as 'humans' alongside those dark creatures, they are classified as magical creatures by the Ministry of Magic.
Magical creatures that harm wizards should be punished.
“Forgetting something while unconscious goes unnoticed…it’s all like a dream.” Nietzsche explained the potion’s remarkable effects, “as easily as forgetting a dream you’ve ever had.”
You don't have to take any responsibility at all, and it comes with after-sales service—the other party has completely forgotten about the whole thing, so naturally there's no 'complaint'.
After a brief discussion, Bain immediately had the other centaurs responsible for hunting change into blowpipes, and the ammunition belts were simply clipped to their chests, making their old jungle hunter demeanor even more striking.
Draco, of course, was unaware of the changes that had occurred in the Forbidden Forest.
At this time, he was still eager to win over Lucien Ball, the future student council president.
"Dean Snape said that as long as we have solid evidence, he can get rid of a criminal who keeps a dragon. I'll have my father publicize your heroism in the newspaper... You'll be the student council president."
Draco sat on a single sofa in the lounge, legs crossed, holding a wine glass high.
Of course, it's just ordinary grape juice inside.
"Is it just Hagrid?" Lucien glanced at the students sitting in a row around Draco.
Draco didn't speak, but simply leaned to the side, propped his head up with his hand, and lazily nodded to Daphne, who was their foreign minister.
“Of course not. You know, even Sherlock Holmes from Slytherin was an accomplice who knew about the crime but didn’t report it,” Daphne chuckled.
"Prefect Lucien, don't you think he's gone a bit too far?" Draco added fuel to the fire. "Disregarding the authority of a prefect, creating division within Slytherin, does he even respect the school rules?!"
“But his recent momentum… shouldn’t be underestimated.” Lucien hesitated.
It's not that he'd just let it go, but he didn't know where to start. If he made things difficult for the other Slytherins at this point, it would only worsen the already divided situation.
In a sense, purebloods need mixed-race and Muggles to demonstrate their status.
"But what if the newspaper says 'The Student Who Makes Friends with Criminals'?" Draco was quite confident about this. "The Daily Prophet's reporters never turn down money."
“Your father…” Lucien asked cautiously.
“That’s right, I went back home for Christmas. My dad hates people like that, so he’s very supportive of me.”
The shrewd Lucien immediately agreed. He knew that this matter was not just Draco's idea. It seemed that Malfoy wanted to take the opportunity to interfere in Hogwarts, preferably to replace Hagrid, the half-giant.
Daphne watched the two people shaking hands and silently took a sip of pumpkin juice.
It's intriguing, Nietzsche... how would you prepare for this?
Finally, the time chosen by Prefect Lucien arrived. It was Sunday, and the Slytherin Quidditch team needed to practice, so Warrington would not have a chance to help Nietzsche.
“They’re out… Gore, get over there! You’re crowding me!” Pansy stood by the fountain in the courtyard.
She spotted Hermione Granger and Nietzsche coming out of a classroom on the second floor, so she quickly told Goyle to go find Draco and the others. But Pansy didn't back down; instead, she gave Granger a sarcastic laugh.
Hermione and Nietzsche didn't seem to have seen her... or rather, they couldn't see her at all.
“Pansy! Have they spotted you?” Draco rushed over from the lounge, looking around.
“Of course not, that’s a Disillusionment Charm.” Pansy’s voice came from in front of them. “They’ve already gone down the courtyard stairs and are…heading towards the Forbidden Forest!”
"Great opportunity! Lucien, let's catch up!"
After the prefect applied the Disillusionment Charm to the others, Draco finally saw the fluffy-haired girl in front of him.
Including Daphne, there were six of them. They kept a distance of about five meters from Nietzsche, a distance that ensured their footsteps wouldn't be heard, while also preventing the two of them from disappearing onto the lawn.
Just as Goyle and Crabbe discovered Hagrid's hut, Draco stopped them.
"The dragon is definitely not hiding there now, don't go over there." He was discovered by Granger that day.
Sure enough, Nietzsche and Hermione did not approach the house, but instead walked along the Black Lake to a dark path, where they found Harry Potter, who had met the other two, standing on the hillside.
Draco clenched his fist in excitement.
“But they went into the Forbidden Forest!” Crabbe hesitated.
“Don’t worry, as long as the Disillusionment Charm is still active, we won’t be discovered. Let’s not stray too far.” Lucien ignored him and was the first to follow. “Just find the place where they’re hiding their fire dragons.”
When that time comes, all they need to do is lead the dean there.
This was Draco and the others' first time entering the Forbidden Forest, so they gripped their wands tightly and took extremely slow steps. Just to be on the safe side, Lucien also cast a silencing spell on them.
"Quietus (whispering)."
In this way, the sound of their footsteps on the leaves and soil would never attract Nietzsche's attention.
But as they went deeper, the first one to panic was Gore, whose fat body would always knock the others off balance as he tried to avoid the crawling insects on the ground.
"How about...how about we leave here?" Gore said, his hands tucked into his school uniform hood.
“Coward! These animals can’t see us!” Malfoy shooed away a few vixens passing by with his wand. “What are you worried about? Use your magic to protect yourself, you fool!”
But besides these, there were mostly a bunch of furry, ball-like creatures.
"Why are there so many fluffy creatures here?" Daphne stepped over the hopping creatures.
"Stop arguing, they're gone..." Pansy stopped the group and pointed ahead.
After passing through several bushes, Nietzsche and Hermione disappeared from sight, which bothered her somewhat.
“Look! What’s that?” Daphne walked to the spot where the group had disappeared and found several marks on a tree trunk. “This is deep in the Forbidden Forest. Nietzsche and the others must have made some marks to find their way.”
On each of the two tree trunks, a horseshoe-shaped mark was carved, and Daphne led the way through.
Pansy didn't follow immediately, waiting until Daphne's affirmative voice rang out again from behind the bushes before pulling Draco forward.
Because the plants in the Forbidden Forest were growing taller and more lush, Daphne could find two marked tree trunks every so often. She would hold onto the gaps in the bark with her fingers and jump around on the roots.
Draco still had a malicious smile on his face.
"When Hagrid gets fired, my dad will put that dragon away... How could that stupid giant keep something like that?"
Daphne didn't speak, but was uneasy about the quiet Forbidden Forest.
Just as the group was feeling secretly pleased, the sound of horses' hooves suddenly rang out.
"Who's there?" A loud shout rang out from the distant woods. "Margaret, I smell a stranger... surround this place with your men!"
Lucien immediately stopped and lowered his body.
The sound of hooves grew closer, and as the surrounding bushes were parted, a strong centaur leaped out along with Pu Rongrong.
As the black centaur approached, holding a blowpipe, Lucien instinctively covered his nose with his left hand, trying to hold his breath as much as possible, while his other hand trembled as he gripped his wand.
“Bane! I don’t see anyone…” the centaur turned his head and looked around a few times before shouting.
“Impossible, my nose can distinguish any kind of herb.” Bain took a running start, jumped up onto the tree trunk, and said, “That’s not the smell of Nietzsche’s ponies. It could be an intruder.”
Bane ran around Draco and the others who were under the Illusion Charm, which frightened them so much that they huddled together.
But as Margaret said, there was no one in sight.
“It’s possible he heard the noise and ran away,” another horseman said.
“Run away…” Bane’s eyes darted around, as if he was thinking about something. “Who is our enemy?”
"Intruders."
The other centaurs were somewhat puzzled.
“What is the identity of the intruder?” Bain stopped in the middle of the road and put the needle from his shoulder strap into his blowpipe. “It’s a wizard. We’re dealing with a cunning dark wizard. We need to think things through.”
While the centaurs were confused, Margaret was the first to understand Bain's words.
"I never thought you'd actually use your brain." It raised its hand high and commanded, "Everyone, get ready!"
“Margaret… I may be a bit slow, but I still study. Nietzsche, that little pony, has enlightened me.” Bain sniffed and gave a cruel smile. He was now even more convinced.
Seeing that something was wrong, Lucien took a deep breath and mustered all his strength to issue a warning.
"Run!!" A loud noise suddenly erupted on the deserted road.
"All centaurs, launch an indiscriminate attack on the area in front of me!"
Draco's nightmare has only just begun.
Chapter Sixty-Six: Snape says nothing happened.
When Nietzsche handed the item to Bain, he kindly reminded him:
As for how to deal with dark wizards, you certainly can't rely on the usual hunting mindset. You have to take corresponding measures based on the wizard's habits... You have to use spells that can cover your tracks carefully.
Thus, Gore and Crabbe became the first unlucky ones because of their obesity.
Feathered needles pierced through the thin school robes and shirts, embedding themselves in their skin. The life-and-death water entered the subcutaneous blood circulation system, with effects even faster than drinking it directly.
