The first person that came to Manshu's mind was the Grim Reaper with the head of a jackal and the body of a man.
Manju loudly proclaimed, and behind Zouken Matou, a hand quietly reached out and pulled a fresh heart from his insect-like body.
"Which pharaoh of Egypt are you?"
Possessing Ra's divine ship and being able to command Anubis's power is something only a pharaoh, as an incarnation of a god, could achieve.
Zouken Matou was utterly incredulous that Kariya Matou could summon such a Servant.
If that's the case, perhaps Kariya Matou really could become the victor of this Holy Grail War, and his wish could be fulfilled.
If it weren't for these unnecessary things, after the heart was removed, Jian Tongzang had already lost all his strength and collapsed to the ground. Apart from uttering words, he could only watch his heart being placed on the scales.
Then a feather was placed on the other side of the scale from thin air, and unsurprisingly, the heart was much heavier than the feather.
The end containing the heart dropped directly downwards, raising the feather end to its highest point.
"No…!"
Even struggling was futile. Zouken Matou only had time to make a sound before he was swallowed whole, along with the heart of the scale, by a monster with a crocodile head, a lion's body, and hippopotamus legs that flew out from the void behind the scale.
"Zouken Matou... just like that, he died?"
Kariya Matou stared in disbelief at the scene before him. It seemed that the monster called Amit had swallowed Zouken Matou, and then everything disappeared.
The room was now empty except for the Servant he had just summoned and himself. The Crest Worms within him, now devoid of their master, were telling him that Zouken Matou was indeed dead.
This even caused him to lose his composure for a moment, and he lost control of his weak body and collapsed to the ground.
"If he has the ability to escape from the underworld, how could such a filthy being have the power to challenge the gods?"
Manju walked up to Matou Kariya and pulled him up.
The power that Anubis had just summoned had consumed about two-thirds of Manju's strength, and he felt there was no need to keep the little he had left.
"Queen of the gods, Almighty Goddess Isis, your power makes the Nile abundant, may you bestow your mercy, so that those before me may also be abundant."
Since he's being treated as an Egyptian pharaoh, let's also use the power of an Egyptian god; that way, we'll have less to explain.
The power belonging to Isis flowed through Manjusaka's hand, like the overflowing Nile River, the spring of life gushing forth and pouring over Matou Kariya.
Kariya Matou's ruptured blood vessels, caused by summoning a Servant, were instantly repaired, and his crippled left eye regained some light. However, he was not completely healed because more of his life force was used to replenish the depleted energy in Kariya Matou's body.
This was an unprecedented feeling; even a year ago, Matou Kariya had never felt such a vibrant life force.
"Thank you... thank you..."
In that short period of time, some of the events that happened overloaded Matou Kariya's brain.
The Servant he summoned not only killed Zouken Matou, but also healed his body, which had been ravaged by the Crest Worms.
This feels like a dream, but if it is a dream, it's best not to wake up.
"Are you really a Master participating in the Holy Grail War, looking like this?"
Manju raised an eyebrow, patted Matou Kariya's head, and said with dissatisfaction.
"I'm sorry, I'm really not a qualified Master."
Matou Kariya assumed that Manju was dissatisfied with his abilities and lowered his head, speaking meekly.
"But you saved me, and not only me, but also Sakura. My body can still extract more energy, which will definitely help you obtain the Holy Grail."
Manju shook his head and said, "That's unnecessary. If you push your body to the same level as before, can your rag-like body really withstand the entire Holy Grail War?"
"Instead of exploiting your body for meager magical power, let's discuss the strategy for this war."
The divine blessing was indeed effective, but not to the point where it would allow him to kill seven enemies in a single night; it merely allowed him to contend with those top-tier Servants.
"Strategy?" Matou Kariya asked instinctively.
“Since it’s a war, then of course we need to devise strategies. The Master isn’t someone who charges head-on on the battlefield; naturally, they should take on the role of commander and strategist.” Zero
"The torment of the Crest Worms has even robbed me of my ability to think." Matou Kariya chuckled self-deprecatingly, then nodded seriously, "As the Pharaoh, you probably already have a plan in mind."
“I am not an arbitrary monarch.” 3
Chapter Three: The Search
"The Holy Grail War involves seven teams of Masters and Servants vying for supremacy, but ultimately only one person can emerge victorious," Manju said, holding up one finger. Lu
"It sounds like we only need to defeat the last one," Matou Kariya said without hesitation. ④
“Generally speaking, it works like this: they hide in a fortress where no one can find them, wait until the Servants outside have finished fighting and all their information has been exposed, and then they come out to defeat the last master and servant.” Manju laughed as he spoke, raising the corners of his mouth.
“Then we should abandon the Matou family mansion. It’s too conspicuous. The Matou family has several private residences where we can hide. I’ll go find them now…” Matou Kariya readily agreed to the plan and prepared to carry it out.
"You guy..."
Manju watched as Matou Kariya was about to go find the keys to the private residence, and interrupted him with a helpless laugh.
"Is there something wrong that's making you laugh like that?" Matou Kariya asked in a low voice, not quite understanding what was going on.
"Hiding and waiting until the end is a choice only idiots and cowards would make," Manshu said with a shake of his head and disdain.
“Those kinds of guys won’t survive to the end of the Holy Grail War. The heroes who sing will crush these bugs that are spying on the battlefield before they throw themselves into the battle.”
"So what do you mean?" Matou Kariya asked, looking up.
"Even if you have to wait, you should first show your weapons and your muscles. The weak will be eliminated by the strong, while the strong can wait for enough opponents to appear."
"So we need to demonstrate our strength first, and then proceed gradually?" Matou Kariya continued to ask.
"You could say that we should first defeat one Servant to demonstrate our strength and thus gain entry into the final war."
"To knock down a Servant directly?" Matou Kariya asked, somewhat surprised.
Showing off muscles shouldn't be done to this extent; the first thought in Kiri Kariya's mind was that it could be achieved by attacking the Tohsaka family with Zero.
Although only the bow of the Sun Ship was visible here just now, Matou Kariya could still recognize it.
Having a vehicle makes attacking established strongholds less dangerous.
However, directly defeating a Servant is probably the only concept Matou Kariya has of a Servant, namely Manjusaka, who is an ancient hero.
That's probably not an opponent you can easily defeat; you might even be the one to be knocked down.
Are you worried, my Master?
“I do have some concerns. The risk of defeating a Servant without any prior intelligence is probably quite high,” Matou Kariya nodded and said.
“That’s unnecessary worry. Who told you we don’t have any intelligence?” Manshu laughed, ready to deliver the line he’d been wanting to say all along.
"Let me tell you, nothing is impossible for a pharaoh on earth, and all things are in my hands!"
Manshu let out a hearty laugh, leaned back slightly, and crossed his arms over his chest.
Let's pretend to be the Pharaoh for now. Osmandis's lines are pretty good. Since we've already used the solar boat, it shouldn't hurt to borrow some of the lines too.
"I have seen the identities and abilities of all the Servants, and I have chosen Caster as the target to demonstrate my power."
"They've actually obtained all the information... Just like the legends say, the Pharaoh is an incarnation of a god," Matou Kariya exclaimed in surprise.
4. Kariya Matou knows the importance of intelligence in the Holy Grail War. Knowing the identity of the Servant means that a targeted strategy can be developed.
Especially for Servants who did not die a peaceful death but were poisoned or made a promise, the poison that killed them will become something that kills them instantly, and the oath they made will still bind them.
4. Based on Manju's previous performance, Matou Kariya thought that this might be an ability given by the god Thoth.
3. “That’s right, I am the Pharaoh, the incarnation of the sun, the radiance of the Almighty God!” Manjushri praised. “I will go and find that villain who has been tainted by the power of the evil god and defeat him. You go and find me hymns praising the gods. Even in this foreign land, there should be songs praising the gods.”
There was nothing Wu could do. The Egyptian Manjushri didn't actually know many gods. If he didn't read some books to brush up on his knowledge, he'd probably be exposed after a couple of battles.
The other pantheons are similar; we'll need to fill in the gaps anyway, so just memorize some names—you never know when you might need them.
4. "The Matou family has a lot of books. I'll sort them out for you, Pharaoh. Tomorrow I'll go to the Fuyuki City Library and look for some more."
Matou Kariya said respectfully, and Manju nodded and said okay, then went out to find Caster Gilles de Rais's location.
Matou Kariya watched Manju leave, still feeling somewhat dazed, but despite her dazed state, she couldn't slow down her actions.
The pharaoh sent Zouken Matou to see Anubis as soon as he appeared, and it was hard to say what would happen if he neglected him.
Moreover, since that Pharaoh killed Matou Zouken and freed the Matou family from that demon, Matou Kariya should also do his best to fulfill his duties.
However, let's go see Sakura first. She doesn't need to go to the insect warehouse anymore, and we need to tell her this good news immediately.
Sakura is suffering far beyond what someone her age should be experiencing; obtaining the Holy Grail would be the only way to correct all of this.
His own servant, the Pharaoh's servant, must have been an extremely powerful servant.
To win the Holy Grail War, we must do our best, both for Sakura and for our Servants.
Matou Kariya clenched his fist, then waved it as if to encourage himself, filling his body with courage once more.
"Sigh, Gilles de Rais should have just been summoned today, but we can't find him anywhere by following the map. He should have come out a few days later."
When Manshu, who had run away from Jiu, arrived at the riverbank in Dongmu City, she didn't notice the reaction of the three magical forces and leisurely thought of something.
Since we're already out here, let's try our luck and see if we can catch them in the act.
Which deity's power could be used to find people? At this point, Manshu was distressed by his meager knowledge of mythology.
Now all we can do is gamble on luck. Manshu shook his head and softly chanted, "Guide to the soul, great god Anubis, please guide me to the place of the newly dead, and let me lead the dead into the underworld for you."
Ryunosuke is killing someone right now. If you're lucky, you might be able to find him, but a lot of people die in a city every day, so it depends on luck.
Anubis's power manifested as a jet-black jackal appearing before Manju, guiding him by sniffing his scent.
"Goddess of Fate, Ananke, let my hopes become an inevitable destiny."
Manju offered a final prayer, surrendering half of his physical strength and magic, before taking his first step.
Chapter Four: The Sun
In the center of a residential area in Fuyuki City, the lights of a house inhabited by a family of four flicker.
Within that building, a whirlwind raged through the living room, and the magic circle drawn with fresh blood on the floor phosphorescently glowed.
A tornado-like gale ravaged the entire living room, blowing up and smashing household items such as the television screen. A misty substance floated up from the center of the glowing magic circle.
Ryunosuke stood there, captivated by the seemingly magical scene, as expectant as a child watching a magic show.
Emerging from the hazy mist, a strangely dressed man, draped in several layers of wide robes and adorned with ornate precious metal buckles, stepped out.
The man wasn't old; there were no wrinkles on his face. However, his oily cheeks were paired with a pair of wide-open eyes that bulged out as if they were about to fly out of their sockets.
With this appearance and attire, he looks exactly like an evil sorcerer who jumped out of a comic book.
