“That’s it.” Seth tilted his head toward the small bulge on the horizon and excitedly picked up his suitcase.
He asked again, somewhat nervously, "We agreed beforehand that as long as we help you find out the origin of that damn pill, we'll be let go."
After receiving the assurance, the Jeko brothers tidied themselves up, deliberately showing their holsters, and once again looked like two ruthless bandits.
As the group walked forward, a building with a rugged and unique design came into view.
The building is square in shape, with an absolute area of only about two or three hundred square meters, and is made entirely of rough stone blocks about one foot in diameter.
The walls were covered with a thick layer of dust and dirt, making them blend seamlessly into the wilderness and go unnoticed.
In stark contrast to its rustic appearance, the two heavy wooden doors are surrounded by neon-lit lettering, giving them a stylish and glamorous look.
The finest wine… the hottest girls… from dusk till dawn… desire and blood gushing from every pore… a string of words overflowing with desire, like stars surrounding the sun, encircling the enormous signboard overhead.
—Like Clouds Bar.
Small pieces of glass of various colors are glued to the door panel, forming two images of voluptuous women with large breasts and plump buttocks lying horizontally on the left and right, their four long legs bent, boldly and unrestrainedly displaying the unspeakable beauty of their place to visitors.
In the open space nearby, five or six punk men dressed in studded leather jackets rode motorcycles around several blazing bonfires, howling and venting their excess energy, looking as excited as if they were on drugs.
On the long stone steps in front of the door, a short, stout man with a tangled mess of hair and a thick beard held a microphone and spoke animatedly.
"Welcome to the bar! New friends, old friends, familiar faces, strangers—come and enjoy a magical night!"
As he spoke with great enthusiasm, he wiggled his large buttocks haphazardly, causing the fat under his red shirt to ripple.
"This place is fucking awesome!"
Two dilapidated pickup trucks turned around, and a group of ragged but menacing-looking guys jumped out, their eyes gleaming as they shouted and yelled.
"We've been holding back for over a month, and we're arriving in the Federation tomorrow. Let's all have a good time tonight! Once we've conquered some territory there, we'll have days like this every day!"
The bald, burly man leading the group was a master of rhetoric. After a few pep talks, his companions groaned and rushed in like a swarm of bees.
"Another fine young man from the Southern Continent, dreaming of making a fortune in the Federation?" After the crowd disappeared into the dark doorway, the bearded man gave the bald man a strange grin.
"Of course, they're all strong, unmarried men with blood on their hands, ready to fight and kill!" The latter smiled meaningfully, "Just like before..."
"The referral fee is the same as always, go to the counter to settle it." The bearded man turned around, his smile fading.
"And you... special friends, you seem to be new faces. What brings you here?"
In stark contrast to his earlier enthusiasm, the man cautiously observed Zhu Mingyao and his group. In his hidden vision, a clear, extraordinary aura emanated from each of the four.
Seth waved his hand impatiently: "Stop with all that probing. We're the Jeko brothers. We've made a deal with Carlos. Go and report it now."
"So it's you." The bearded man's expression turned serious, and he became much more solemn. "Please come in quickly, the boss has been waiting for a long time."
……
……
"Just as I guessed, it's a sunken environment..." Zhu Mingyao looked around, confirming his guess.
The building here is shrouded in a strange barrier that is difficult to see through with the naked eye. Judging from common sense, it should have a considerable underground space.
A long, T-shaped stage, resembling a runway for models, extends straight out, dividing the spacious hall in two. Dozens of small tables are scattered on the left and right, and more than half of them are filled with guests, numbering at least a hundred.
The strong smell of alcohol mixed with the hot, sweaty odor, along with the noise, hit Serena in the face, causing her to take a step back in disgust.
On either side of the stage, which was covered with a red carpet, a rock band dressed in extremely retro style was playing. Their colorful mohawk hair swayed into a phantom, stealing the attention from the audience amidst their hysterical screams.
However, no matter how brilliant their performance was, it was no match for the vibrant and captivating dance on the other side.
Silver steel pipes were driven deep into the ground, and a dozen scantily clad women swirled and moved through the air, displaying their sexiness and power. The men watched in stunned silence, their throats churning as they frantically swallowed their saliva.
Bottles of tequila and brandy were opened, and spiked cigars were lit, with money and profanities flying everywhere.
The thousands of colorful lights falling from the overhead cosmic sphere lamp rotated and changed, reflecting in the scene, creating an atmosphere of chaotic dancing demons.
"Please follow me." The waiter, dressed in a black vest, politely gestured and then led them through the noisy crowd, up the soft carpet to the stairs, and into a charming private room on the second floor.
The seemingly flimsy carved door panel closed gently, instantly silencing the raging clamor outside.
"After making such a big fuss, I thought you two wouldn't be able to make it."
The man standing in front of the glass curtain wall, admiring the energetic dance moves, slowly turned around and spat out the cigarette butt from his mouth.
He was probably in his forties, with exposed skin that was reddish-brown, and eyes that rolled in deep sockets, emitting an obsidian-like glint, clearly indicating that he had considerable Mexican indigenous ancestry.
Seth, a wicked grin on his face, stepped forward. "You're mistaken, Carlos. We need to make a big scene so we can get out of here safely."
"Boom!"
He slammed two large suitcases onto the table, casually wiped away the dust left from his long journey, and unlocked the combination lock.
Bundles of bonds were rolled out neatly.
"Fifteen million, not a penny less! Just as we agreed, half for each side!"
Faced with this enormous fortune, the man merely glanced at it and then ignored it.
"Stop joking, hurry up and bring out the main course."
"What's the rush?" Seth pulled out a chair, sat down opposite him with an air of authority, and slowly opened his palm. "I guarantee it's genuine!"
Inside the small black and white crystal box, a pearl-like capsule swayed slightly, immediately drawing Carlos's gaze like a magnet, making it impossible for him to look away.
His nostrils flared, his breathing became heavier, and he snapped his fingers, causing the lights in the private room to suddenly go out.
In the dim light, a golden-red glow appeared inside the capsule. Upon closer inspection, it was found to be composed of hundreds of strange points of light moving along predetermined trajectories, resembling a miniature universe.
Chapter 334
"Yes...this is it..."
Carlos, his eyes glazed over, whispered as he reached out a trembling hand.
Venus drifted away silently, leaving him empty-handed.
The man felt a sudden surge of anger, but then he realized what he had done and uttered a short syllable. Soft light once again shone into the private room.
“The bond exchange will take some time. You should go to Monklova first. Our people will meet you there. We can arrange whether you want to go to the Southern Continent by land or water.”
"readily."
A crystal-clear parabola rolled in.
Carlos nimbly flicked his wrist, gripping the glass box tightly. He grinned with satisfaction and gestured to the waiter, "Go get two bottles of the oldest Blue Fire Tequila. I'm going to celebrate with some friends... Hmm, why is there only one?"
The warm words abruptly took a 180-degree turn, and the man's face suddenly darkened.
"The quantity is quite different from what was agreed upon..."
"You get what you pay for. With this little bit of stuff, I can't possibly hold you off from the federal investigation."
Sais lazily grabbed a stack of bonds and tossed them up and down. "How could there only be this much? There are more than forty in total. I've hidden them in a safe place."
"You cautious bastards, I'll take the loss and transfer the money to your account first, okay?" The man angrily lit a dark brown cigar, exhaling his grievances along with the pungent smoke.
"Oh, thank you for your generosity. I'm relieved now, but I still have a small question..."
Sait shuffled the bonds with his thumbs, making a rustling sound, like he was shuffling a deck of cards.
"Could you tell us where this incredibly effective pill comes from? To be more specific... where can we get it?" A perfectly timed glint of greed appeared on his face.
"Ha." Carlos chuckled condescendingly, his tone dripping with mockery. "Has no one ever complimented your comedic talent?"
The man's expression was full of mockery, as if he were looking at a foolish clown.
"Do you know how incredibly lucky you are? Under normal circumstances, you two pieces of trash would never even get your hands on a treasure of that caliber in your entire lives! Now, by some twist of fate, you've made a fortune, and you still dare to try and steal it."
His tone turned cold, and a flash of red light appeared!
The thick, long cigar burned out instantly, and a thin, fiery red snake pierced through the ash, baring its fangs and licking Seth's neck with lightning speed.
"I'm leaving you a little warning, don't test my patience!"
"Ding--!"
The crisp metallic vibrato lingered on and on.
With a cold, clanging sound, the blade flashed down like a waterfall, instantly pulverizing the small crimson flame snake into tiny sparks.
The few pages of bonds that had been set ablaze danced in the strong wind, illuminating the man's bewildered face.
"No wonder he dared to have such delusions; it turns out he found a powerful ally."
Carlos quickly calmed down, his eyes sharp as a hawk's, staring intently at the suddenly appearing being.
A life-sized, silvery-white shadow floated in the air as if defying gravity, wearing a helmet and mask, its sleeves gleaming. A faint, ethereal shadow, seemingly suspended in mid-air, appeared.
Under his wary gaze, the black-haired youth who had been closely following the Jeko brothers silently took a step forward, his body tense and straight as a pine tree, his upper body slightly leaning forward.
"It's our first meeting, and we're here to make a sincere deal. There's absolutely no malice intended." The strange tone was abruptly cut off, and the young man's pale face remained expressionless.
Seth clutched the half-burnt bond with regret, adding fuel to the fire: "Now you know, right? This gentleman we met by chance is very interested in it. Just share the news, and I'll immediately offer you all the potions."
Bah, the Eastern sorcerers from Yingdao Island... The man's mind raced as he quickly assessed the strength of both sides and made a decision in an instant.
“I can’t make the decision myself; I need to ask ‘her’ to step in.”
Seth was taken aback. "Who?"
"Of course, it's the real boss." The man asked casually, "By the way, won't some other Tom, Dick, or Harry try to get a piece of the pie?"
"Relax, buddy. Who would leak their secrets to making big money everywhere? Hurry up, I can't wait to splash around with the Latin beauties on the Brazilian beach." Seth shrugged and smiled easily.
"Just wait, it'll be almost time for 'her' dinner." The man's figure disappeared at the end of the corridor.
"I think I know who they are."
“I can roughly guess that, Miss Serena. Your family’s relatives are indeed spread quite widely.”
Two thoughts crisscrossed the void, secretly exchanging information.
“I don’t have such a smelly bastard relative!”
"In my opinion, we should just infiltrate and interrogate them directly. Why go through all that trouble?" A firm female voice echoed in my mind.
The black-haired youth looked down at the song and dance performance through the glass curtain wall, his hands behind his back. "The layout of this place is a bit strange. We've tried everything to find out, but it's hard to explore. All we know is that the underground space is vast and complex. What we need is to find the main culprit and extract the source of the pill. I don't have the confidence to play any maze games while my senses are suppressed."
In the midst of casual conversation, the wild metal music playing in the hall suddenly changed its style.
The gentle and melodious tune evokes a sense of mystery and remoteness.
