The little lion looked hungry and tired, but due to various external stimuli, it was unable to truly rest.
His entire body was squeezed into a corner, and he could only occasionally open his mouth to exhale.
"Marum, I want to buy this!"
Aaron took a liking to the lion cub at first sight; human compassion was once one of the most precious qualities of humankind.
In the darkness of the universe, such emotions are worthless.
Marum remained rational:
"Large cats grow very quickly, and they can become a huge problem in seven or eight months."
Aaron sighed, "I know what you mean, Marum. Even if we choose to buy it and release it back into the wild, it won't survive in its current state."
"If it survives in the natural environment near Athens, it will become a threat to the people around it. Such a ferocious beast that has had a stress response to humans in its youth will be very hostile to humans. I understand this."
“But,” his eyes lit up, “what if I gave this lion to my brothers? To them, it’s not much different from a cat!”
Aaron's sudden inspirations always made Marum feel that they weren't entirely unacceptable.
A purebred ancient Terran lion! Even if it were simply sent to the future Terran royal palace, it would be enough to sustain it.
It can also be considered as preserving some species genes for future Terrado.
As for actually giving them to the Primarchs as pets, Marum felt that this was obviously not feasible, as the Primarchs didn't have time to take care of pets.
They already struggle with their relationships with people, so they have no energy left to care for a lame lion.
“Buy it, then give it to Father and have the Imperial Guards protect it in the palace. I’ve heard that there’s a special department that does genetic testing, and their database will need such a creature.”
Marum made the most rational choice, and then subconsciously wanted to imitate the old man by using his face to pay without paying. But when he got close to the old man's face, he realized that his understanding of commercial transactions was quite flawed.
Previously, for Astartes, supplies were mostly distributed from above, and their own people could simply go and collect them, much like scanning a face.
I really don't have much of a concept of money.
Your Majesty has misled me!
A few minutes later, Marum followed behind Aaron, carrying the lame lion cub in his arms and feeding him slices of meat he had bought from the stall owner with his other hand.
Aaron searched high and low and found a whole deer pelt, which he wanted to buy to make a new pillow for Guilliman.
The previous pillow wasn't very good quality.
When it came to the pillow, Marum was suddenly horrified as he paid for it!
Oh no, I completely forgot His Majesty's crucial instructions!
We need to prepare a lumbar pillow for His Majesty, who will sit on the golden throne more than 40,000 years from now!
"Aaron, we need to buy two tickets, and also prepare one for our master tens of thousands of years from now."
Aaron didn't have any objections. The old man had turned into a skin and bones in the future and even joked with him, saying that when drinking, he could just pry open the neck muscles and pour the wine in.
Aaron was unsure whether his future father was joking with him or if something had happened that he didn't want him to worry.
Aaron thought that the only thing he could do was to keep his promise and prevent his good brothers from making mistakes in the future from going down that path.
This way, that disaster can be avoided.
On the way home, Aaron reached out and took the little lion: "I have to give you a name, Little Lion, Ryan, how about it? A variant of the letter for lion."
Marum stopped in his tracks and quickly corrected himself:
“Aaron, there is a Primarch named Ryan.”
Aaron was taken aback for a moment, then reached out to comfort the little lion cub, who had fallen asleep in the quiet environment after eating its fill.
"Then let's change the name, Marum. Do you have any suggestions? Don't be bound by my current era; any name that existed in your time is fine."
After thinking for a moment, Marum said, "Adam, let's call it Adam."
Aaron thought the name sounded catchy and laughed:
"Then it's Adam, Adam Will."
Marum turned his head away helplessly. "Aaron, do you want all life in the world to become your family?"
Thinking about it this way, Poseidon's idea of achieving great harmony with all life in the world doesn't seem so outrageous; the two sound quite similar.
When they arrived home, the old father and the perverted uncle had not yet returned. Aaron carried Adam to the fifth brother's side and introduced the family members.
He had heard that animals need to be familiar with each other's scent to avoid stress.
"Come on, fifth brother, look at our new family member. Lick it."
The fifth brother reluctantly stuck out his tongue and licked Adam's body, rubbing against him a few times and making some whimpering noises.
It had no feelings for the lion cub; it was just an ordinary, lowly creature.
After settling Adam in, Aaron and Marum began preparing lunch. Just as they put the food on the table, Poseidon and his father appeared at the door right on time.
It's hard not to suspect that these two guys are calculating their return time by watching the smoke and fire coming from their stoves at home.
Both of them were soaking wet, clearly having just returned from the sea.
The father patted his ear and tilted his head to pour out the water.
Poseidon was much more used to it. He could speak in the ocean, and even if water started spraying from his nose, his nasal mucosa wouldn't be irritated and he wouldn't sneeze.
"The situation is not good. One of the Titan's arms has broken through the seal and appeared in the underwater world. Anda, when are you going to transform into that golden, glittering form you mentioned? Hurry up and kill this thing."
Poseidon sat down in the chair and, without any hesitation, began to eat.
These two are truly sworn brothers; they even eat in the same way, which can only be described as eating.
Anda, shoveling rice into his mouth, said:
"I'd like to, but that state is too unstable. Using it too much could destroy the world. That's what my future self said. See, I've already told you about my future self."
"This guy is too big; killing him will be a bit troublesome. We'll need to evacuate the civilians beforehand."
"It needs to be properly guided so that it can be understood as a myth in the current civilization."
Two heads, whose intelligence was questionable, got together and ignored the rest of the family, not even noticing the addition of a little lion cub to their home.
As for Aaron, well, seeing his father so earnestly studying how to cook meals in order to safeguard the proper development of human civilization, he couldn't help but feel a little gratified.
If you can discover more of your father's good qualities, you'll be better able to persuade your mother and father to reconcile!
It seems this incident has nothing to do with me; my father and uncle should be able to handle it.
After washing the dishes and tidying up the tables and chairs, Anda called me over with a serious expression.
He stood before his father and uncle, looking at his father's somber expression, and asked:
"Are there any difficulties in the plan to deal with that great demon? If I can help, that would be great."
Anda held out his hand; it was a razor he had pulled out of his luggage, which could also be used to trim the hair on the sides.
Although he's never really used it much.
Anda made up his mind and said, "Go to Guilliman in the future and get a Titan, just thirty meters tall. I don't know much about the specific model, I don't remember much."
“Just tell him our needs, and Guilliman will know what to prepare.”
Aaron was surprised that his father would make such a request; it was too strange.
Could it be that he's deliberately showing off his current success to his long-lost brothers?
Chapter 113 The Emperor's Lumbar Pillow and the Old Lion (36K)
Aaron didn't sleep well tonight. He was watching Marum's exquisite sewing skills as he sewed two deerskins into a suitable pillow.
Anda and Poseidon tried to take the pillow as if they were old friends, but Aaron slapped them away.
Anda was very dissatisfied and muttered:
"Anyway, it was originally prepared for me, so it's okay if I use it for a while now, right?"
Poseidon was even more surprised by Aaron's purpose: to send things from the present timeline to the future!
And it happened while he was asleep!
He couldn't help but exclaim, "This will definitely work perfectly with my delayed triggering ability!"
He had barely finished speaking when he realized that if he continued any further, he would be killed by Anda that night, so he quickly shut up and hid in the distance.
He doesn't need a pillow; he usually sleeps in the mouth of a whale, where there's a filter hole.
Aaron didn't notice for a moment what kind of strange ability his uncle was referring to as "delayed triggering." After carefully protecting the two pillows from his father, he carried them to his own bed and went to sleep peacefully.
Marum also made sure to tidy up the needles and thread and check the candles to prevent a fire; he was truly an excellent choice for a housekeeper.
Aaron drifted into a dream, his target clearly set on Guilliman, and landed on the Radiance of Macragge.
He had been to this ship several times, but each time he only met his brother in a separate place, simply because he thought the ship was big.
Even Peturabo, who had only seen it once, didn't know what its internal structure was like.
But that doesn't matter, since he always lands near his brothers anyway, and this time is no exception.
He was in a cramped space for the Primarch, barely able to lie down and rest for a while.
Guilliman leaned against one of them, tapping on an operating terminal specially designed for the Primarch's body shape, with two human skulls floating on either side of him, their eye sockets hollowed out and flashing a dangerous red light.
So much so that when Aaron first appeared, he thought some kind of demon had invaded.
Until he saw the golden eagle emblem on those skulls, he knew it was the symbol of the Empire.
"I was terrified! Father, what's wrong with you? How could you use a human skull?"
Aaron could only lean against Killieman's legs, trying to jump up and touch the two skulls.
Guilliman waited until his task was completed before closing the terminal, and the two servo skulls read the data and left the terminal.
“Brother, I don’t actually like these aesthetic styles either, but the empire is now riddled with problems and we have to fight against enemies that threaten human survival. No one has the mind to reform any design styles.”
Guilliman smiled wryly, his gaze softening as he looked at the two enormous pillows in Aaron's arms:
"Is this for me? Actually, the pillow that my father bought last time is still usable. I took it apart and put it in the box containing your clay tablet letter. I haven't been able to open that box yet, so it'll serve as a hardwood pillow."
Aaron handed both pillows to Guilliman, tucked them into his arms, and said with concern:
“Hard pillows are uncomfortable. Here, take one of these two, and take the other back to your father when you have time. Marum just remembered, your future father wanted a lumbar pillow.”
