“A few days ago, he piloted several war planets to the front lines where we are fighting the Greenskins.”

He paused, then added, "Each one is bigger than the one we're standing on."

"Is it bigger than our village?" Ryan's daughter couldn't help but ask upon hearing this.

“Child, that’s much bigger than our village, tens of thousands of times bigger!” Rick answered her patiently.

"Wow, that must be huge!" The little girl didn't really understand how much ten thousand was, but she realized that it was bigger than her village, which was the biggest thing she could think of.

Rick patted his niece on the head, then looked at Ryan and continued speaking.

"You can't imagine what that weapon is, my brother. The entire planet was enveloped in light, and the surrounding environment changed instantly."

“The light didn’t affect us at all, but those monstrous greens,” Rick made an explosion gesture, “suddenly sprouted countless blue mushrooms on their skin, which devoured their entire bodies and then vanished like dust.”

Alan exclaimed in amazement, and even Ryan's daughter stopped playing and listened intently.

“This is the technology of the Emperor,” Rick explained. “He is a god from another universe, now fighting alongside the Emperor.”

"This weapon not only kills the enemy, but also transforms the entire planet's terrain into a mushroom zone. From space, the whole planet appears as a ghostly blue."

Rick then took out several shimmering blue mushrooms from his backpack.

"This mushroom contains magical power; it can heal injuries when eaten directly, and its effects are enhanced when processed into medicine."

Rick handed the mushrooms to the family, gesturing for them to try them.

Ryan took the mushroom, ate it in one bite, and found it incredibly sweet and delicious. Then he felt a strange energy flowing through his body.

The back pain that had plagued him for years disappeared instantly.

“This…this is simply a divine object!” Ryan exclaimed.

"Humanity's golden age is about to return," Rick stood up, his head almost touching the ceiling. "We will no longer cower in defense, but embark on a path of conquest."

Rick turned to Allen, his eyes scrutinizing him.

"I heard that my nephew inherited the family's bloodline talent?"

Allen straightened his back, trying to act like a warrior.

"I train every day, Uncle! So that one day I can fight for the Emperor like you!"

Rick smiled, a smile that looked unusually warm on his scarred face.

“Very good, it seems that our family will have new warriors joining the Extreme Legion.”

Rick then finished the last bite of the blue mushroom and looked at Ryan and his brother.

“Ryan,” he began slowly, his voice deep and firm, “would you like to join the Ultramarines?”

Ryan's eyes widened, his mouth slightly open but no sound came out, and his brother stood up from his chair, his face filled with disbelief.

“But we have a genetic disease!” Ryan almost shouted.

“And our age…” Dane added, “is well past the age for modification.”

Rick caught the flicker of desire and doubt in their eyes. He reached out and put his hand on Ryan's shoulder.

"That's another reason I came today."

"The Empire now receives unprecedented technological support. Our genetic modification technology has undergone a qualitative leap."

He took out a small metal disc from his waist, pressed it gently, and a holographic projection unfolded in the room. In the image, dozens of adults were being bathed in a blue light, and their bodies underwent visible changes within the light.

"See? These people all have similar genetic diseases, and now we have the ability to make them reawaken."

Ryan stared intently at the images.

“And age is no longer an issue,” Rick continued, tapping the holographic projection to switch the view to another modification site.

"Today's gene editing technology can ignore cell aging. As long as the basic physical condition is good, people of all ages can withstand the modification."

“Even…” Rick turned his gaze to his younger siblings, “they’ve now developed a program to modify female Space Marines.”

Ryan's wife hugged her youngest daughter tightly, a hint of surprise and longing flashing in her eyes.

"Female warrior?" she asked softly.

“That’s right.” Rick nodded.

The scene shifts again, revealing several female warriors clad in modified power armor. While not as muscular as the male warriors, they are still incredibly powerful.

"While female Space Marines are generally not as strong as males, they are better at speed, agility and certain special abilities."

Rick looked at Ryan's wife, "You can try it if you're interested."

Ryan's wife, Tina, bit her lower lip and didn't answer immediately, but the light burning in her eyes betrayed her inner desire.

Ryan's son jumped up excitedly, "This is amazing! Our whole family can be Space Marines!"

Ryan frowned.

"But what about home? What about the children?"

Rick smiled. "That's another thing I wanted to talk about."

Chapter 116 High-Efficiency Retrofitting Technology

Ryan turned off the holographic projection and instead pulled out a statue from the inside of his breastplate.

"You need not worry about your family's livelihood at all. As long as you have sincere faith in the God-King, he will give you rewards far beyond your imagination."

Rick placed the idol on the table and softly recited a few syllables (in Chinese) that Ryan had never heard before.

The statue emitted a soft golden light, gradually forming an interface in the air that emitted a white light.

Rick gestured for his family to gather around and then taught them how to interact with the interface. Ryan followed his brother's instructions, silently reciting a short prayer before gently touching the interface.

Instantly, a warm energy flowed through his body, and then an interface appeared before his eyes, an interface he could understand.

Ryan was very surprised; the content displayed on the interface was completely beyond his imagination.

Various precious items, skills, and knowledge are arranged in categories, ranging from ordinary farm tools to unique technological products, from simple medical tips to profound knowledge of warship manufacturing.

“Everyone will see different things.” Rick’s voice seemed to come from a great distance. “The screen will automatically push content based on your comprehension and needs.”

Ryan's fingers trembled as he continued scrolling down the options.

There are also all kinds of living supplies here, as well as large wooden houses that can be built with one click. Rick has long wanted to move to a bigger wooden house, and this wooden house is exactly what he had in mind.

"This...this is all free?" Ryan swallowed hard.

"It's not free; it's exchanged for faith," Rick corrected. "Devoted faith and a hardworking attitude towards life will be converted into faith points, and faith points can be exchanged for these."

Ryan looked at the number displayed in the corner of his screen; it was a number far exceeding his expectations.

“Our family’s devotion to the Emperor over generations has accumulated into a considerable amount of faith,” Rick explained.

The other people in the room were also immersed in their own light screens, and the little girl had even started picking out some brightly colored candies and toys.

Ryan's wife was surprised to find that the brand-new loom she had always dreamed of was among them.

"The God-Emperor can know the deepest desires of each of us through the bond of faith," Rick said, his voice filled with awe.

A few minutes later, after everyone had recovered from their initial shock, Rick coughed lightly, interrupting their exploration.

"This is just the beginning. The deeper your faith, the more you can exchange for it."

Ryan looked down at his rough hands, never daring to imagine that he would one day have the chance to be transformed into a Space Marine.

"If we choose to join the Ultramarines... will these faith exchanges still exist?" Ryan asked.

“Of course,” Rick nodded. “And there will be more. As warriors of the Emperor, you will have direct access to higher levels of Faith rewards.”

Ryan looked around at his family and saw the same longing and determination shining in everyone's eyes.

Guided by Rick, the family sat in a circle, hands clasped together, and began to pray sincerely. Golden light rose from their chests, weaving into a net that eventually coalesced into the blurry image of the God-Emperor.

"May the God Emperor protect you," Rick said softly.

"May the God Emperor protect us." The rest of the family members repeated devoutly, their voices filled with gratitude and reverence.

------

After Rick finished explaining to everyone, he walked out of the farm. "The will of the God-Emperor has descended. The choice is before you. Those who are willing to follow us, gather here within an hour."

As the sun began to set, Ryan and his family sat around the dining table for their final discussion.

“My father, brother, and I will go for rehabilitation first,” Ryan said firmly, holding his wife Tina’s hand. “You take the children to the newly built school, where you can learn more knowledge and skills.”

His wife, Tina, nodded, her eyes sparkling with a complex mix of reluctance and anticipation.

Ryan whispered a promise, "When the children are older, our whole family will join the ranks of the Space Marines."

The youngest daughter, Emily, threw herself into her father's arms, her voice trembling with childish tears.

"Dad, will you grow as tall as Uncle?"

Ryan cupped his daughter's face in his hands and said softly, "It's not scary, Emily, it's strong and brave, protecting our home."

As the sun sets, dozens of villagers have gathered in the open space in the center of the village, including the elderly, women, and even young children.

Ryan and his family stood on one side of the crowd, and he could feel the tense yet excited atmosphere in the air.

"They're here." Rick suddenly looked up at the sky, and as soon as he finished speaking, a deep rumble came from the sky.

A massive warship, capable of blotting out the sky, slowly descended, obscuring half the heavens. Its metallic surface gleamed with a sacred light in the setting sun.

"Wow! What a big ship!" Emily exclaimed, her eyes wide with surprise.

The bottom hatch of the warship opened, releasing a beam of light that enveloped the people in the center.

Ryan felt his body lighten, his feet leave the ground, and the surrounding scenery rapidly shrinks. They are pulled upward by beams of light, drifting towards the huge hatch.

The interior was very spacious, with towering metal walls covered in exquisite murals. A team of fully armed Ultramarines guarded the internal passageways.

Rick raised his hand to signal everyone to follow, his voice echoing in the metal hall: "This warship will be your new home. First, come with me to learn the basics, and then I will take you to the training area."

He walked briskly ahead, occasionally pointing to the compartments and equipment on both sides, briefly explaining their functions and importance.

Ryan tried to memorize the information, but his attention was drawn more to the intricate machinery and ancient runes inside the cabin.

Ten minutes later, a huge alloy door slowly opened in front of them.
