“And…” James said in a British-Japanese accent, reaching into his pocket.
"I didn't want to miss this, which is why I came all the way to Japan."
As James spoke, he pulled out a phone pendant that looked just like Ayumi's.
This is a classic case of reversed cause and effect.
Tohno glanced at the white lion phone pendant.
“Hey, your hobby is pretty mainstream,” he said to Shiho Miyano.
I successfully earned a cold shoulder.
"Oh, we bought phone charms too."
Ayumi was very happy.
"However, these kinds of merchandise are probably popular all over the world now, right? There's probably no need to come all the way to Japan to buy them?"
Conan was puzzled.
“Then you’re wrong.” James seemed to have done a lot of research.
He handed his phone to Ayumi, who was standing closest to him.
"Is there a 'In Japan' suffix at the end? But it can only be bought here."
?
Tohru Tono was impressed.
Even if you're making excuses, shouldn't you at least put some effort into it?
Chapter 198 James Hater?
Conan also rolled his eyes like a dead fish.
"You came all this way just to collect this?"
He didn't have much information, and there were too many people in the world with unusual fetishes, so he didn't think about it from another angle.
"However, that little incident just now was really disappointing."
James retrieved the phone pendant.
"I didn't even get to see one of the friends who said they were coming to visit me."
He looked at Professor Agasa, who was clearly the leader: "Have you seen a man with long hair?"
"Oh, there were so many people watching the performance..." Dr. Agasa thought for a moment, "I don't remember much."
"I see..." James was a little disappointed.
A long-haired man?
Shuichi Akai?
Toru Tohno frowned and glanced at Shiho Miyano, who showed no reaction.
It seems that Shuichi Akai is not nearby, but it is certain that James is in contact with him.
Because of some awkwardness, I didn't have a chance to tell Shiho Miyano about Shuichi Akai's appearance... I wonder if anything unexpected might happen.
Tohru Tohru was making plans in his mind, but his usual smiling expression remained on his face.
Perhaps seeing James in trouble, the kind-hearted Yuan Tai stepped forward.
"Uncle, are you looking for someone? If so, just leave it to our Junior Detective Club!"
“That’s right!” Ayumi Mitsuhiko chimed in.
Conan could only manage an awkward laugh.
You are the youth group, he is the detective.
"The Junior Detective Club?" James felt that Japanese kids were really hard to communicate with.
"That's right, all four of us are members of the Junior Detective Club!"
As Mitsuhiko spoke, he even pulled out the badge made by Professor Agasa from his pocket to prove it.
"Look!"
He held up the detective badge, the silhouette of Sherlock Holmes on it gleaming in the sunlight.
"Oh! Sherlock Holmes!"
James understood immediately.
"So, you're the irregulars on Baker Street?"
He smiled and looked down at the promising children: "I'm James Black, nice to meet you all."
"Baker?"
It turns out that the members who claimed to be the Junior Detectives were all fake fans who had never read Sherlock Holmes and therefore knew nothing about Baker Street.
They looked at each other blankly after hearing James' question.
In the end, Conan, sweating profusely, stepped forward from behind to explain: "What he's talking about is Holmes's source of intelligence, which is those kids living on Baker Street."
This is a basic question that even true Sherlock Holmes fans wouldn't bother answering.
“Yes.” James nodded, speaking in a tone that sounded like he was coaxing a child, “To be honest, I was born on Baker Street.”
"In that case, it's fate that we met. How about I treat you to dinner?" James said, resting his chin on his hand. "I know a restaurant with a really delicious dish..."
Wow, that's amazing!
The Junior Detective League was directly bribed.
Having decided to be together, James then remembered to ask the names of Shiho Miyano and Toru Tohno, who had been relatively unknown until now.
"By the way, may I ask who you are...?"
"Hello, I'm Tohno Toru, you could call me a detective."
Tohru Tono said with a smile.
"Ai Haibara." Shiho Miyano's tone was rather cold, and her refusal to speak nonsense suited her personality perfectly.
"Oh? You're that high-tech detective who's always in the newspapers? I've heard so much about you."
Surprisingly, James knew Toru Tono's name.
"Huh?" Conan was clearly taken aback when he heard him say that.
Then, frowning, he thoughtfully rested his chin on his hand and looked at James.
"Ah, it's nothing serious. I just happened to be lucky enough to discover some things that others didn't."
Tohru Tono waved his hand dismissively.
"So you're being modest... So these kids are actually your assistants, Holmes?" James joked.
"Haha, I'm not Sherlock Holmes," Toru Tono chuckled. "They're assisting someone else."
Tohru Tono doesn't think being targeted by the Junior Detective Death Squad is a good thing.
"By the way, did you drive here?" James asked.
"No." Professor Agasa shook his head.
"That's perfect, shall we take the car I rented? It should be able to accommodate a lot of kids."
"I'll go get the car right away, please wait a moment?"
James smiled and then walked down the overpass.
Halfway there, he suddenly turned back as if he remembered something. "However, my driving skills aren't as good as yours. How about you drive from now on?"
He looked at Professor Agasa.
"Hmm?" Professor Agasa looked puzzled.
"There's nothing I can do, I'm just not used to driving on the right," James said helplessly, shrugging with the air of a basketball superstar.
“Ah, indeed.” Toru Tono had never felt so connected to the FBI before.
Japan's right-hand drive system is so inhumane, and so are some of its traffic regulations.
"Hey? Uncle James, since you're not used to driving on the right, that means you're not living in England right now, right?" Conan suddenly asked.
“That’s right, I was actually born in London and grew up in Chicago.” James turned to look at him, “which is where Kaponi lives.”
Having said that, he finally turned and left.
Tohru Tono looked at his retreating figure with some confusion.
Who is Kaponi?
Just as I was wondering what was going on, I suddenly felt a fingertip brushing against my back.
It sends chills down your spine.
"What's wrong?" he asked Shiho Miyano in a low voice.
"What do you feel about this guy?" Shiho Miyano's expression was calm, but her brows furrowed with doubt.
"A feeling?" Toru Tohno was taken aback, his first thought being that Shiho Miyano's radar had gone off.
But can this unreliable radar be detected even by the FBI?
Are LeBron haters ecstatic?
Tohru Tono felt that what she was talking about might not be that.
"I don't feel anything... but I'm sure he's an FBI agent."
Tohno glanced at Conan, who was also frowning and staring at James's back, and spoke in a low voice that was absolutely inaudible to Conan.
"The FBI?" Shiho Miyano didn't ask Toru Tohno's source of information, lost in thought. "But I have a really strange feeling..."
"What exactly?"
"I don't know," Shiho Miyano said.
