Zhenfei rushed over and tried to bandage Gao Hai's wound. On the other side, Sun Dajun seemed to be in poor health. Seeing the blood all over the ground and Green convulsing on the ground after his throat was slit, he simply passed out.

We can't just let them leave like that.

We can't let this "second veteran player," who suddenly launched an attack, take away the fruits of his hard-won adventure.

Is she in her current state because she used some kind of teleportation artifact?

Where would the teleportation location be? It shouldn't be a place she hasn't been before.

Gao Hai immediately thought of the sealed kitchen door in room 205.

No, it's too late to catch up now. Since they chose to launch their attack at this time, they definitely can't be caught.

We need to take action right here, in this very place, and stop this bastard.

Turning his head, Gao Hai first used his left hand to make a gesture of covering Kaguya Maki's ear, and then the next moment he directly looked at the blurry little figure in the room.

"Li Youcai, Xu Jiazhen..."

He murmured the two names.

The mud on the ground was about to disappear completely, and the woman's voice was becoming increasingly indistinct.

But Gao Hai was certain that she could still hear the voices here, and she could still hear the words he was about to say.

No thinking is required.

After uttering the first two names, the third name naturally came out of Gao Hai's mouth. It was as if he wasn't saying the name, but some force, through his language abilities and under his own urgent desire, expressed the third name that shouldn't have been uttered.

Back in December 2017, the first book I wrote on Shuke was a Silent Hill fanfiction, a horror novel. That was my initial work on Shuke.

For the next five or six years, I tried various approaches, but unexpectedly, after returning to the supernatural horror genre, I achieved my best sales performance for a new book so far.

I have a strange feeling about this; perhaps this is what it means to start anew after returning to the starting point.

Back to the book itself, it's all about four elements: supernatural tales, horror, mystery-solving survival, and a harem-style pandering to otaku. Well, the last one is probably just for marketing purposes, but since the first three elements combined would make the plot extremely heavy and dark, adding some anime-style pandering elements is necessary to balance things out. After all, that's part of the BookKe style, right? (laughs~)

The bounty details will be provided at the end. Before we begin, let me clarify: this book is planned as a total of seven main volumes, five interludes, and one epilogue, totaling 13 volumes. A complete outline from beginning to end is already available. The following is the main plot information that can be revealed at this time:

Volume Two:

Book Title: Claustrophobia

Location: Cave

Volume Three:

Volume Title: Campus Ghost Stories (Tentative)

Venue: School

Volume Four:

Volume title: ? ? ?

Location: Village

Volume 5:

Volume title: ? ? ?

Venue: Hospital

Volume 6:

Volume title: ? ? ?

Venue: Hotel

Final Volume:

Title: The Day of the Gods (tentative)

Location: City

Volumes one through five are followed by an interlude that depicts daily life during the intervals between dungeons. This might include things like going shopping with the heroines, holding hands, kissing, or even getting pregnant... *cough*... the last one won't be in the main story—we can't have the protagonist leading a pregnant character through a series of supernatural events, right? After all, having read through the first volume of the main story, you know that the main story focuses more on investigating various clues, experiencing danger and suffering through trial and error to eventually clear the dungeon. Therefore, these lighthearted, relaxing chapters are quite important.

The inspiration for this book naturally comes from various supernatural tales about rules. To be honest, ever since reading *The Zoo*, I've always wanted to write a supernatural tale about rules, and now I'm gradually realizing that idea. As for the plot development, many readers have shared their thoughts in the book reviews. Here's a clarification: while supernatural objects can have various miraculous effects, none of them can counteract supernatural tales about rules. These objects can only serve auxiliary purposes, like the wall clock and rescue team sign mentioned earlier (incidentally, the rescue team sign is an object of supernatural power). Furthermore, these objects always come with a price and cannot be used indiscriminately.

Furthermore, since this is a series of supernatural tales governed by rules, to conquer the dungeons, one must ultimately interpret and utilize the rules to gradually uncover the root cause of everything, and only then can a solution be found. For the sake of plot construction, except for the final volume, the main characters in these supernatural tales are always human, and the methods for solving them are related to the plot points surrounding the origins of the supernatural tales. Of course, there won't be any plot devices like using love to influence the other party; supernatural tales must still possess non-human characteristics. For example, while the bizarre rescue team in Volume One helps the protagonist, it's only because they wear badges and are thus recognized by the system. Only actions that meet the system's requirements and pass the judgment process are effective.

Since the focus is on deciphering mysteries and investigations, this book won't follow the typical path of the protagonist rising from weak to strong only to have their ultimate power eroded. In fact, because the power-ups primarily involve rewinding timelines, it might lean more towards torturing the protagonist? Of course, I personally have no intention of tormenting the protagonist; all difficulties will eventually be overcome, and any mistreatment or injustices suffered at the hands of villains will be repaid in kind. There won't be any scenes of forgiveness or reconciliation.

So please stop telling me how to write books (staring into the distance—). Lately, there have been so many people leaving comments and suggestions in the book review section, and explaining things to each one is giving me a headache (and even if I do explain, you might not reply, which is even more disheartening). I've been writing books for six years now, so I know exactly how to write these kinds of supernatural mystery stories. Just keep reading.

In the interlude following the first volume, I will be recruiting minor characters for the second volume. Interested readers can consider it in advance; I will post a dedicated pinned comment in the book review section. I can also tell you in advance that the second volume is set in the Kingdom of America in the last century, and the story is based on the Nut and Ash Hole incident.

In short, as a novel that might be slightly out of place with the usual style of Shuke, I hope you will all support me. With your support, I can go further and more steadily.

And, next

It's about the issue of listing bounties.

The bounty period is from today, after the launch announcement was posted, until May 10th, so it'll be about 20 days, I think that should be about right.

No upper limit, yes, that's right, no upper limit, it shouldn't be a big problem.

The reward rules are as follows:

A 1000-word bonus chapter will be added for every 5000 yuan donation.

50 blades, plus 1000 words.

500 monthly votes will earn an extra 1000 words

20000 recommendation votes will result in an extra 1000 words.

One golden treasure chest will earn an extra 36000 words (I wonder if any big shots will actually post this?).

So here are the conditions: the bonus update will only be calculated after the daily attendance requirement is met (i.e., 4000 words per day). The basic attendance requirement will not be included in the bonus update. I still have that much integrity.

Although I had a minor mishap with a previous bounty, I've consistently managed to easily pay off almost all the unlimited bounties I've set up over the past six years. As for whether you have the same ability, we'll see in the future (laughs).

Chapter 39: The fist of revenge doesn't need to wait overnight.

I saw what happened in the past.

Dim lighting, a dilapidated shack, and a man with a volatile expression drinking beer.

You can't cry out loud, because crying will make Daddy angry, and when Daddy is angry, he'll hit you with slippers, stools, sticks, or anything he can easily reach.

[A money-losing product! A waste of money! Garbage!]

He would shout loudly while hitting.

[Why did I only have a daughter? I wanted a son! Don't you know the saying "five sons for a prosperous family"? I need money, a car, a house, a son, and a wife! Why did you give me a daughter? Do you want me to be childless? This kind of money-losing brat won't even take my surname after she marries off. What's the point of me spending money raising this thing?!]

He would also hit his mother, yelling at her while pulling her hair and pushing her to the ground, punching her repeatedly.

It's you! Without you, I wouldn't be living like this!

My mother would hit people too. She would prick people with sewing needles, dig with her fingernails, and yell at people in a louder and sharper voice than my father.

There are always various reasons for being beaten.

People will be beaten if they leave home too late in the morning, and they will be beaten if they come home too late at night.

Speaking too loudly can lead to being hit, even if someone sees you in the hallway.

Very hungry.

Because they never get to eat.

My parents said this is a way of remembering the bitter past and appreciating the sweet present, and that we must learn to endure hunger in order to grow.

Boom boom boom!

The knocking sounded again.

My father owed a lot of money, and when the creditors came to the door, he pretended not to be home.

He said he would definitely win next time. He took all the money he earned from his job and almost never brought it home. He also tried to steal the money his mother earned. If she didn't give it to him, he would hit her, and then his mother would hit me.

If Dad gets cornered by creditors outside, he'll get beaten too, and when he comes back he'll beat me and Mom even harder, and then Mom will beat me too.

My teacher told me that parents are a child's haven.

What is a harbor?

Is it afraid of pain?

……

Gao Hai opened his eyes.

He felt as if his vision was being affected; the scene before him became blurry and he couldn't see anything clearly.

A wave of dizziness washed over me, and it seemed like there was a constant sound, but I couldn't quite make out what it was.

His hands and feet were numb, and even when he managed to move, he was incredibly sluggish, as if all his senses had become dulled, making it difficult to control his body's movements.

A woman's suppressed wails came from beside him.

Someone was struggling beside him, unable to break free from something, and thus kept rolling and convulsing on the ground.

Where is this place?

In a daze, Gao Hai tried to sit up, but he couldn't manage it.

Disobedient bastard

A voice suppressing anger rang out, accompanied by a cold touch.

A pair of hands grabbed Gao Hai's face and forcefully pried his mouth open.

A needle and thread pierced his lips, pulling hard and tugging the thin thread through his flesh.
