"Please, stop crying."
"Waaaaah."
The more Luffy talked, the harder Vivi cried. Finally, Luffy steeled himself and growled, "Stop crying!"
The sound wasn't loud, but miraculously it stopped Vivi's crying abruptly.
She stopped crying and stared at him with her blue eyes, now even clearer and brighter from the tears, her eyes brimming with tears and her nose red. Tears still clung to her long eyelashes, making her look like a frightened fawn.
This trick worked as expected.
Luffy breathed a sigh of relief, but looking at Vivi's pitiful appearance, he didn't know how to comfort her.
What you wanted, I didn't want to give you at first.
I've already tried to dissuade you from doing this, but you insisted.
Now it's become my fault.
Women are truly a scourge; Luffy finds it even more tiring than fighting Crocodile.
Crocodile: "..."
You've insulted Khmer.
"Those harsh words I said earlier were all at your behest, meant to appear tough." Luffy reached out as if petting a ruffled cat. "Why are you getting so upset now?"
He also felt wronged, as he was clearly just following instructions.
Weiwei pouted, and her eyes quickly filled with tears again.
She suddenly reached out and hugged Luffy tightly around the waist, burying her tear-streaked face in his chest.
"Waaaaah, who told you to say such hurtful things... Waaaaah..."
It makes a constant "whooshing" sound, just like a kettle boiling water.
Luffy's body froze instantly, his hands instinctively opening wide, not daring to move, letting Vivi hold him tightly as she vented her emotions.
Luffy secretly rejoiced.
Fortunately, this time it was just verbal threats, like last time. If it had been physical torture like last time, wouldn't today's situation have been even more uncontrollable?
Women are truly incomprehensible creatures!
Fortunately, the plan was completed.
......
"Women are so hard to understand."
Luffy was doing squats, carrying a barbell weighing several hundred pounds in one hand. His rubber muscles were bulging, and sweat was streaming down his flushed face.
Did we narrowly escape disaster? Anyway, what happened between me and Weiwei in the room can now be considered a secret.
She couldn't tell anyone, and Vivi acted as if nothing had happened.
She dared not let anyone know. How could a princess have such a hobby?
That would be so embarrassing.
"What do you think they're thinking?" Luffy asked, glancing at Nika, who looked like a drunkard not far away.
"Gu dong gu dong."
Not far away, Nika was holding a disproportionately large wine jug, tilting her head back and chugging the wine with gusto. The clear liquid dripped from the corner of her mouth, wetting the white hair on her chest. "You mean Nefit?"
"That's it."
Nika let out a loud hiccup, his blood-red eyes narrowed, and he spoke with a hint of schadenfreude and his usual encouraging tone: "Hiccup... Nika told you long ago, letting you take action directly would have solved everything!"
It's not too late now, hehe, want me to teach you a few tricks?
"Snapped!"
A crisp sound.
With his free hand moving at a speed too fast for the naked eye to see, Luffy slapped Nika on the back of the head with a backhand.
The force was controlled just right; it didn't send her flying, but it was enough to make her dizzy for a while.
"hiss."
Nika nearly dropped the wine jug from her hand, her drunkenness instantly dissipating by more than half. She clutched her head, feeling dizzy and disoriented, and it took her a while to regain her senses. She then bared her teeth and brandished her claws at Luffy:
"Hey, what are you doing?!"
"You still want to lay a hand on Weiwei?"
"You were kindly giving me advice, and you're treating this like entrapment? You just start shooting without warning!"
Luffy picked at his ear, looking completely matter-of-fact: "If you say so, then so be it."
"Serves you right for getting confused by women!"
Nika, fuming, hugged the flask, turned his back to Luffy, and muttered under his breath.
Luffy felt his throat was parched, and the intense thirst from the intense training overwhelmed him.
His gaze swept across the room and landed on the wine jug in Nika's arms, which looked very thirst-quenching.
"I'm thirsty."
He announced, then unceremoniously reached out and snatched the flask from Nika's arms.
"Hey, this is my wine! Give it back to me!"
Nika was so anxious that she jumped up and down, trying to grab it, but Luffy held her forehead with one finger, and no matter how much she waved her limbs, she couldn't reach it.
When has the sun god Nika ever suffered such humiliation?
Glug glug...
Luffy gulped down several mouthfuls of the spicy liquid as it passed through his throat, which strangely relieved his thirst.
He clicked his tongue, looked down at the furious Nika, and then, with a mischievous grin, his eyes lit up.
Chapter 129 Nami's Confidence is Unfortunate
"I'll give it back to you, but you have to perform a show for me."
"What are you thinking? You want me to put on a show? What do you take me for? A circus cat?"
"A backflip would be good."
Ignoring Nika's words, Luffy stroked his chin and seriously suggested, his eyes gleaming with anticipation, "Let's do twenty in a row."
"You think beautiful!"
Nika was so angry that his tail stood on end. "I am the noble Sun God Nika, how could I possibly do something to please you? Give me back my wine!"
Luffy pursed his lips, tucked the sake bottle under his arm, and showed no intention of returning it.
Nika jumped around him, threatening and bribing him in various ways, but Luffy just picked at his ears, letting the threats go in one ear and out the other.
"I'm going to finish my drink."
"Wait, wait a minute!"
Nika looked at the tempting liquid, her heart churning, but in the end, the craving for alcohol overwhelmed her pitiful pride.
"Fine, I'll do a backflip then. It's a deal, you get to drink it after I finish!"
Why is Luffy so boring?
After everyone woke up, they were all busy with their own things, preparing for the upcoming voyage.
Zoro found a secluded courtyard to continue processing the iron-cutting experience he gained from his duel with Mr. 1. He said that his sparring training with Luffy was indeed effective, but the most urgent task was to solidify his level. He needed to maintain that level for a long time, and always be able to see the enemy's weaknesses in his breath.
Chopper was surrounded by the royal physicians, who were carefully summarizing their experience in treating everyone's injuries during the battle.
An older medic standing nearby watched Chopper's skillful techniques and composed demeanor with eyes full of admiration, repeatedly saying:
"Dr. Chopper is amazing!"
"This method of handling things is simply unheard of!"
"Please accept my utmost respect!"
"Even if you say that, I won't be happy, you bastard!"
Chopper felt awkward from the praise and wiggled around on the ground, but he didn't stop arranging the medicinal herbs. He even kindly pushed a cup of freshly brewed herbal tea, perfect for refreshing the mind, to the talkative healer.
The old doctor paused for a moment, then gave a knowing, kind smile, picked up his teacup, took a sip, and continued his pattern of praising someone after every three sentences.
Sanji and Usopp went out early in the morning to replenish supplies.
On their way back, they ran into a group of naval officers at the palace gate. The sergeant leading the group was speaking with a serious expression to the vice-commander of the Alabasta Kingdom's guard, a Zoan-type Dog-Dog Fruit user, Jackal-type Jackal, named Jaka.
"Lieutenant Jaka, we have received reliable intelligence that pirates have infiltrated the royal palace. For the safety of Alabasta, please allow us to enter and search!" The sergeant said sternly.
Jaka crossed his arms, looking impatient. His jackal-like ears twitched, and he said in a harsh tone, "Where's the evidence? You think there are pirates just because you say so? We Alabasta have just gone through a major war and are rebuilding. We don't have time to play these guessing games with your navy! If you can't produce solid evidence, don't be an eyesore here."
The sergeant was speechless. Their intelligence sources were indeed somewhat vague, mainly based on Colonel Smoker's intuition and the deduction of the last place the Straw Hat crew disappeared from.
Just then, Sanji and Usopp walked past, carrying large bags of ingredients and tools, seemingly oblivious to everyone else.
Usopp even waved to the ashen-faced Jakka in a rather cheerful mood: "Yo, Mr. Jakka, you've had a good day!"
Jaka's expressionless face instantly transformed into a warm smile as he responded, "You've all worked hard too."
Naval Sergeant Major: "..."
He pointed at Sanji and Usopp's retreating figures, his fingers trembling. "Him, them?"
Jaka yawned, revealing sharp teeth: "They are honored guests of our palace, responsible for purchasing some of the ingredients for this post-war victory celebration banquet. Is there a problem?"
Or does the navy even dictate what we serve our guests?
The sergeant was speechless and could only watch helplessly as Sanji and Usopp swaggered into the palace gates.
He felt that the two people looked familiar.
