Is this the world of card dealers? Yada thieves!

[Game: 2100LP, 3 cards in hand]

[Super Mage - Dark Mage Apprentice] (The Seal of the Crystal) [ATK2800]

[Soul Barrier]

"My turn, draw a card." Rafael drew a card. It seemed that he had not yet drawn a card that could destroy the [Soul Barrier]. He did not change the monsters on his field to attack position, but kept them in defense position. Then he played the card he had just drawn. "Set one card, and then end my turn."

[Rafiru: 1000LP, 1 cards in hand]

[Guardian - Hill] [ATK1700→DEF1400]

[Guardian - Grail] (Gravity Axe - Roar) [DEF1000]

【Backup Guardian】【DEF2200】

【Master Craftsman - Tiger Iron】【DEF500】

[Face Card] x2 [Crystal Seal] [The Magic of the Clean Graveyard]

Rafael ended his turn very quickly, seemingly without doing anything, but in reality, the existence of the card "Magic of the Clean Graveyard" was his biggest source of damage. Just as the game's preparation phase was about to begin again, Rafael could immediately deal another 700 points of effect damage to him.

"My turn, draw." Hoping for a response from his deck, Yugi drew another card, but unfortunately, he still couldn't draw a card that could increase a monster's attack power this turn. The card he drew was the Spell Card [Reduce Cost], which has the ability to lower a monster's star level by discarding cards from his hand.

However, the only card in the game that can currently utilize this card's effect is [Catapult Turtle]. But the other two cards, [Orichalcos Barrier] and [Eye of Timaeus], can be discarded since they are useless anyway.

Just as Yugi was thinking of playing it safe and waiting for the next draw before making a decision, intending to add [Reduce Cost] to his hand, he heard Rafael activate his face-down card again: "During your preparation phase, I activate this Continuous Trap Card [Goblin Servant]."

"!?"

As Raferu's card was activated, the game saw, in addition to the [Magic of the Clean Graveyard], a large, armored, green-skinned goblin appear in Raferu's back row, launching a sneak attack with an arrow at their side!?

"Ugh!"

[Game: 2100→1400→900LP]

Besides the "magic of the Clean and Honest Cemetery," my base score dropped by an additional 500 points?!

"[Goblin Servant] can only be activated when the opponent's base score is below 3000 points," Rafael explained to the game. "During each of the opponent's preparation phases, it deals 500 damage to the opponent's base score."

"Then, with the 700 damage from [The Magic of the Clean Cemetery], you will have taken a total of 1200 damage this turn, and this amount will decrease again during your next turn's preparation phase."

"However, you only have 900 points left in your base score."

Game's pupils contracted as he looked at his Duel Disk, where his Life Points had dropped to three digits.

“Nameless Pharaoh, I should have seen that will to stop at nothing to achieve your goals in your eyes just now, but you still disappointed me.”

"Not enough. The will you've shown isn't enough to help me grow." Rafael looked at the game, not making a promise like "a candle flickering in the wind," but instead said with disappointment and disdain, "What a boring duel."

"You have no chance of winning, you can't prove that the light in your heart won't be swallowed by darkness, so just drown in your cowardly 'coping'."

Upon hearing Rafael's words, Yugi clenched his right fist tightly.

He wanted to refute Raphiel, to hurl insults back, fueled by the same rage he felt when [Dark Magician] and [Dark Magician Girl] lost contact with him, but he couldn't, because he only had this last round left.

Once this round ends, Rafiru doesn't need to do anything; he can simply let his next round come and easily claim victory.

"I... am going to lose here?" Yu Zi muttered unconsciously, raising his left hand that held four cards.

In the game's mind, he recalled the promise he made to [Dark Magician Girl] in the Elf World. Back then, he promised to "save two worlds," and he should keep his promise.

But now, he's about to be defeated before he can even defeat the real culprit behind the incident?

That kind of thing...

The "Orichalcos Fragment" in the game's pocket vibrated again, and a strange aura began to spread and seep into the game's body.

That kind of thing...

The game's gaze swept over the four cards in its hand, finally settling on the [Orichalcos Barrier].

Yugi, who had been keeping a close eye on Yami Yugi, naturally noticed immediately that Yami Yugi's gaze was fixed on the card in the far corner. His pupils contracted, sensing a certain thought that Yami Yugi could no longer suppress.

"No to that kind of thing!"

"No, I don't want to lose here!"

"I promised [Dark Magician Girl] that I would save both worlds, and I must keep my promise!" Suddenly raising his head, Yami Yugi's expression was somewhat ferocious with excessive excitement. "I want... I want victory! I will win at all costs!"

Yami Yugi reached into his hand and drew the card "Orichalcos Barrier," then flicked his Duel Disk to open the area where Field Spell Cards were placed, about to activate the card!

'No, my other self!' Just as Yami Yugi raised the [Orichalcos Barrier] above his head, Omote Yugi, who never interfered with Yami Yugi's duels out of trust, for the first time tried to stop Yami Yugi's actions, tightly grabbing the hand holding the [Orichalcos Barrier] card with both hands. "You can't use that card!"

"You can't use cards given by others, haven't you already learned that countless times from Hayato?"

Normally, what the main character says would definitely work on the secondary character, but the look in the eyes of the secondary character that the main character looks up at now makes the main character pause for a moment, and also makes Rafael show a delighted expression.

Because at this moment, the same flickering, pitch-black flame that Rafael had shown before also appeared faintly in Yami Yugi's eyes!

“Aibo, this duel is a duel that stakes my justice and my light, and I must win.”

The card 【Orichalcos Barrier】 faintly emitted a green light, and under the illumination of the light, Yami Yugi's expression looked extremely terrifying.

"No, not just must, absolutely!"

"I absolutely must win, whether I use the power of darkness or any other means, I don't care what others say, as long as I win, that's enough!"

"I want to activate this card!"

As Yami Yugi finished speaking, even before the barrier was fully deployed, the power of the long-accumulated [Orichalcos Barrier] began to interfere with the surroundings. The light on the [Millennium Puzzle] on Yami Yugi's chest suddenly disappeared, causing the spirit of the other Yami Yugi, who was hugging Yami Yugi, to dim for a moment as well.

Yami Yugi's hand holding the "Orichalcos Barrier" broke free from Omote Yugi's control, who was still trying to stop him. With Omote Yugi's horrified expression, Yami Yugi resolutely placed the card into the Duel Disk: "I activate, 'Orichalcos Barrier'!"

"boom!"

A beam of emerald light shot into the sky. The source of its power was the card [Orichalcos Barrier], which was born from the darkness in people's hearts. It had been waiting for Yugi to activate it for a long time. The moment the card entered the Duel Disk, the barrier was formed in an instant and pushed Yugi, who was still trying to return to Yami Yugi's side, away!

On the game's forehead, the six-pointed star of the [Orichalcos Barrier] took shape, imprinted downwards, and emitted an ominous green light.

Watching Yugi's figure disappear outside the barrier, Yugi, who had experience fighting in the [Orichalcos Barrier] before, was not as worried as he had been the first time. Instead, he took a deep breath and said to the air, "Sorry, Aibo, I absolutely have to keep my promise. I'll return your body to you after I win."

"Then..."

Turning his head to look into the arena, he saw that the power of the [Orichalcos Barrier] had been fully unleashed, not only surrounding Rafael and Yugi who were dueling, but also that the green magic had already entered the body of [Super Mage - Black Mage Apprentice] through Rafael's [Crystal Seal].

"【Orichalcos Barrier】has the ability to increase the ATK of all monsters on my field by 500 points. Then, because of the ATK increase of 【Super Magister - Dark Magister's Apprentice】, Rafael, your 【Crystal Seal】 will be destroyed!"

As he spoke, Yugi raised his hand, "Return to my field, [Super Magus - Dark Mage Apprentice]!"

As the game's voice faded, the foreheads of the Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl within the crystal suddenly lit up with the same six-pointed star of the Orichalcos Barrier as the game's forehead. With their magic power surging, the Crystal Seal shattered!

However, the very next moment after the crystal shattered, amidst Rafael's smug smile and the game's horrified gaze, the body of the newly unsealed [Super Mage - Black Mage Apprentice] suddenly shattered into fragments!?

Chapter 627 Whoever Uses It Loses: The Barrier is Terrifying

When the "Orichalcos Barrier" was activated, the game witnessed firsthand that the "Grand Magus - Dark Magus Apprentice" gained 500 attack power from this Field Spell Card, thus breaking the "Crystal Seal".

However, at the same time that the [Crystal Seal] was broken, the [Grand Archmage - Dark Archmage Apprentice] was also destroyed. How could this happen!?

Not only that, when Yugi looked down at his own hand, he was surprised to find that the card "Eye of Timaeus" in his hand had quickly turned gray, as if it had become a half-finished card that had been abandoned halfway through printing!

"Hahaha, looks like it's a success."

Just as Yugi was puzzled by the changes on the field, he heard Rafael's laughter and glared at him angrily: "Rafael! What have you done to my monsters now!"

Looking at the game now completely enveloped in dark power and surrounded by the power of the [Orichalcos Barrier], Rafiel simply smiled coldly: "What did I do? No, nameless pharaoh, I did nothing. Wasn't it you who activated that [Orichalcos Barrier]?"

"What?!"

Upon hearing Rafael's words, Yugi frowned, realizing the problem after a long pause. He opened the Duel Disk's arena area and looked at the activated [Orichalcos Barrier].

Previously, in order to avoid thinking about "activating [Orichalcos Barrier]", Yugi tried his best not to look at the card when he had [Orichalcos Barrier] in his hand. Besides, he was not unaware of the general effect of [Orichalcos Barrier].

However, the game didn't expect that just a few lines before the description of the [Orichalcos Barrier] effect contained this line of text:

"When this card is activated, destroy all monsters Special Summoned from your Fusion Deck on your field!?"

Then Yugi remembered something—it seems that none of the cards used by Rafael, Baron, Ameruda, or even Grima, all members of the Doma organization, actually contain Fusion Monsters?

I thought it was just a coincidence, but I never imagined it was actually due to the effect of the ancient book "Orichalcos Barrier"!

"The main task Lord Dartz gave me was to eliminate the 'Legendary Dragon' card that you, Nameless Pharaoh, possess," Rafael said disdainfully, looking at the solemn-faced Yugi. "The monster I fear most is precisely the 'Super Magician Knight - Red-Eyes Dragon Knight' that you can summon with your 'Dark Magician' combined with 'Eye of Timaeus,' but judging from the commotion just now, the 'Legendary Dragon' has already abandoned you, hasn't it?"

"Tch, even so, my duel isn't over yet!" Having been tricked by not seeing the effect of [Orichalcos Barrier], Yugi gritted his teeth and commanded, "If [Super Magician - Dark Magician's Apprentice] is destroyed, I may Special Summon one [Dark Magician] and one [Dark Magician Girl] from my hand, Deck, or Graveyard!"

"Special Summon 'Dark Magician Girl' from my Graveyard, then Special Summon a second 'Dark Magician' from my Deck!"

As Yugi places two cards on the Duel Disk, two monsters appear on his field: [Dark Magician] and [Dark Magician Girl].

However, before the master and apprentice could react at all, the magic of the [Orichalcos Barrier] had already climbed onto their bodies.

Despite the reluctance of both Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl, and their attempts to resist, the dark power was too immense. After seeping into their bodies, the emblem of the Orichalcum Barrier appeared on the foreheads of both magicians.

[Black Magician] [ATK 2500→3000]

【Dark Magician Girl】【ATK 2000→2300→2800】

Rafael raised an eyebrow, noticing that the [Dark Magician] Special Summoned in the game was not Special Summoned from the Graveyard, but rather from the Deck to boost the ATK of [Dark Magician Girl], but said nothing.

Despite the sudden appearance of two high-attack monsters on the field, Rafael seemed completely relaxed, showing no concern whatsoever that his monsters would be destroyed.

Because the [Crystal Seal] was broken, the card spirits of [Dark Magician] and [Dark Magician Girl], who had been isolated from the cards, have returned. The aura on the cards has returned to normal due to the return of the spirits, but Yugi no longer feels the urge to experience the cards.

Guided by the power of the Orichalcos Barrier to unleash the dark forces within people, Yugi is now filled with the desire to defeat Rafael. Although he had only thought of activating the Orichalcos Barrier because his spirit had been taken away, Yugi completely ignored the concerned look in the eyes of Dark Magician Girl who had turned around and was looking at him on the field.

In his plan, the [Super Magician - Dark Magician's Apprentice] should have broken free and used its high attack power to destroy the monsters on Rafael's field to break the [Magic of the Clean Graveyard]. Although the [Super Magician - Dark Magician's Apprentice] has now been destroyed, it doesn't matter. Having the [Dark Magician] and [Dark Magician Girl] monsters is the same.

"Entering the battle phase, I use [Dark Magician Girl] to attack Rafael's [Guardian - Hill] in Defense Position!" With a wave of his hand, Yugi commanded, "When your monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, [Clean Graveyard Mana] will also be destroyed. I haven't lost yet!"

"Black Magic Blast!"

With the power of the [Orichalcos Barrier] and the combined power of the [Dark Magician] in the game's graveyard, the [Dark Magician Girl], whose attack power has increased to a full 2800 points, raises her wand and condenses it into a magic bullet. Departing from her usual melee mage style, she throws the magic bullet at [Guardian-Shill], who is in defense position on Rafael's field.

But just then, Rafael suddenly pulled a card from his graveyard: "Chain attack of [Dark Magician Girl], I activate the effect of the spell card [Salvation of the Buried God] in my graveyard!"

The game was taken aback: "Activating a Spell Card from the Graveyard!?"

"When was that card..." Yugi suddenly remembered Rafael's [Hand Exchange], when Rafael took [Soul Captor] from his hand and then used [Angel's Charity] to send that card and another card to the graveyard. "Was it around that time?!"

The menacing magic bullet was blocked by a magical barrier that suddenly unfolded. The barrier remained unmoved, and behind it stood Raferu, completely at ease. The current situation was still under his control.

"The effect of [Salvation of the Buried God] can only be used once per Duel. It can only be activated when this card is in the Graveyard and your opponent's monster declares an attack." Rafael explained, banishing [Salvation of the Buried God] and four other cards from his Graveyard, "Banning five cards from my Graveyard, including [Salvation of the Buried God], negates that attack declaration and ends the Battle Phase!"

"What?!"

The game's fists were clenched so tightly that his nails almost dug into his flesh. His face was extremely grim as he watched the [Dark Magician Girl]'s attack fail.
