CHAPTER 73 – DREAM

In the morning when the inn isn’t that busy yet. Dirkhert is playing with the cats on the first floor while talking with Aron.

「Neko-sans, play and play with the foxtail~」

Dirkhert raises his voice happily while swinging a foxtail from top to the bottom and from left to the right.
Volsung is watching over him. Meluerina is currently doing the laundry.

「So, Dirk has selected a flower called Baby’s breath, you know~」

Dirkhert is currently telling Aron about the florist he visited yesterday. He seems to have liked it very much because of the many flowers there were.

「I see~ The flower that decorates your room was chosen by Dirk-kun, huh」
「That’s right~ But, neko-sans wanted to play with that flower」

The small Baby’s breaths are slightly swaying in the breeze. Certainly, the cats would be interested in something that sways like that.

「I will make sure not to let cats enter Dirk-kun’s room while you are away, it will be fine」
「I’m relieved then~」

Tou, when he rises the foxtail in his hands up, the playful cats jumped up all simultaneously. But, they land back on the ground without being able to reach.

「Fuwa~ I’m a bit tired」

「Dirk-kun likes cats and likes flowers…… what else do you like?」

Listening to Dirkhert talking about his 『likes』, a smile unconsciously floated on Aron’s face.

「I see~ there are many things Dirk-kun likes, huh. In that case, you won’t get lost when thinking about what you will do in the future」

「Right, what would you like to do when you become an adult, is what it means」

Volsung panicked hearing Aron’s question.
Dirkhert was always todl「Please, become a splendid Maou-sama when you grow up」. Dirkhert himself says「Dirk will become a splendid Maou to protect everyone」quite often.
Because of that, he panicked whether Dirkhert would say「I will become Maou」or not.
But……

「Dirk will become a florist when I grow up, you know? And then you see, together with Melu, Vol, Chocola, Tart, and Pudding, we will open a store~ Sometimes, Vol will call the animal-sans, and we will have a store full of flowers and animal-sans~」
「Opening a flower shop with everyone, how wonderful」
「Right now you see, Vol is teaching me about various flowers. Dirk will work hard」

I certainly teach you about flowers, but that’s not so you could become a florist. Volsung inserts a tsukkomi in his mind, but he can’t let that out of his mouth. He is not able to crush the little Maou-sama’s dream.
However, a Maou florist. The shop’s name would be『Demon King’s Fresh Flowers Shop』or something, he imagines.
It doesn’t sound quite right. He spills out a giggle while watching the little Maou-sama happily conversing.
