Coincidence Or Fate

In a quiet and comfy room, two people was snug into each other embrace. As the small ray of light pass through the curtains, it slowly awoken one of them.

As she opened her weary-eye, she looked around the room and she notice it to be somehow familiar to her but was still half asleep to recognize it.

Angelique tried to stretch her aching body and felt a heavyweight near her chest. She looked underneath the sheet and realize it was an arm. Since she was still half asleep it took her awhile to react.

Angelique was so surprised to see the arm around her, she turned around to see who it was and it created a great wake-up call for her. But when she saw the man peacefully sleeping beside her, she did not react nor made a sound. Her body seems to have reacted in a different way and covered the man instead.

Angelique was dumbfound when her body moved on it own and cover Scott with the blanket. She was so embarrassed that she her heart was beating so fast and she was turning so red early in the morning. She started to panic because she was worried the her racing heart would wake Scott up.

A moment later Scott seems to still be fast asleep and Angelique has still not moved out of the bed. She stared at the ceiling as she let Scott rest as he embrace her.

Angelique turned around to face Scott and there face was almost so close as if they were about to kiss. She continued to blush as she felt the heat between them.

As she continued to gaze at Scott, her hand gently touch the long hair of the man who loved her so deeply and yet all she did in return was wounded him. She started to feel upset as the memory of the past rekindle.

Despite all the unpleasant memories there were also pleasing memories which made her smile and softly murmured, "Do you still remember when we first stayed overnight together? It was because you were being bullied and I tried to save you and we ended up being locked in the school gym storage house overnight."

"You even took off you own jacket and shirt for me. Just to warm me up even though it was cold since it was almost winter. You kept telling me its fine if you get sick as long as I don't."

"The next day when the cleaners found us. They called our parents and my mom was so angry and tried to hit me but you took the slap for me. You even explained to her and that made her hate you."

"Despite my mom hating you, I continued to stay friend with you. I'm not sure if the guys told you, back then when we started dating, I was sick for almost a week. Actually, I was not sick. My mom locked me in the house since she found out that I dated you."

As she reminisce on the past, she didn't realize that tears were falling down her face already. She turned around as she wipe the tears off and took a deep breath. "Anyways, it's all in the past…"


Angelique, gently moved Scott arm as she got out of bed, as she head towards the bathroom.

As Angelique shadows vanished, the man who was fast asleep in the bed opened his eyes as the girl disappeared. He brushed his long hair and sighed heavily.

Scott who overheard what Angelique was murmuring about, made him felt annoyed as he found out the reality back then. He clenched his fist as his blood started to boils from all the regrets as he understands everything now.

All this time, she continued to protect him and she continued to smile as if nothing was happening. Even though she did broke the promise they made, a big weight on his shoulder disappeared.

As he heard the footstep of the girl coming out of the bathroom, he quickly went back to sleep as if he did not hear anything at all.

Angelique went back to the room and notice Scott who was still fast asleep. She went to the window and went over the curtain as she let the ray of light hit her skin. She looked at the familiar scenery outside Scott's bedroom window.

"The garden sure have changed over the years, I'll sure look beautiful during the summer."

As she continued to mesmerized at the garden, she felt a familiar presence behind her. She did not react and stayed calm. "Did I wake you up?"

The curtain slowly opened, letting the light into the room. As the light hit his eyes, he was taken aback when he witness the girl he had love standing in front of him. She did not show any signs of fear or disgust but a sweet and tender look instead. He felt like they were a newlywed married couple and for the first time, after a long time, both of them stared at each other eyes, as if it was like before.
