187. The Dawn of Love

Translator: Ahve

“What are you waiting for?” Wei Qing looked at the executive, “Let’s get started.”

The executive breathed a sigh of relief. With no doubt, Wei Qing was still the one he knew. After a pause, the executive quickly focused on the report in his hand and turned to look at the projection screen.

All the others could tell that their boss was in a good mood recently.

Well, exactly, he was in the seventh heaven.

Though sitting alone in the office with a bunch of boring data reports, he laughed unaccountably.

The secretary came out of the office with some files, and several female employees rushed over, “How is it? What happened? Did he laugh again?”

The secretary put the files on her own desk. After having a sip of water, she uttered with a hand on her chest.

“He did! I was reading his schedule for tomorrow, and he laughed for three times. I could tell that mostly he just tuned out. You know what, once I took a glance at him and his ears were pink.”

“Ah!” Those female employees were stunned. “O! M! G!”

The secretary took another sip of water and continued, “Right? And there’s something more. Since he looked happy, I plucked up and asked for a leave. He asked me where I was going, and I told the truth. I said that I wanted to see my boyfriend, so guess what he said?”

“You’re fired? For private matter over work?” Everyone knew clearly Wei Qing’s attitude at work. One could take a leave of absence if he was sick or had a family emergency, and one could even say that he was simply unhappy and wanted to rest for two days. However, going to see one’s lover was never a good reason here in the company.

It could only make Wei Qing feel that his or her working attitude wasn’t right.

“No,” the secretary shook her head, even though she herself still couldn’t believe it. “His voice was so gentle. He said, ‘I can tell that you like your boyfriend very much, and it feels that you want to be with him all the time, right? So just go see him!’ ” After a pause, the secretary added, “At that time, his voice was just so soothing that I felt unsteady on my feet.”

“What? Seriously? Then there must be something wrong,” a female employee interrupted her and said firmly, “Did something delightful happen to Mr. Wei lately?”

“What could it be?”

“Pennies from heaven?”

“Oh, come on! You think a man like him would care about money? It’s ridiculous! How…”

“Keep your voice down,” the secretary instantly interrupted her, whispering, “You didn’t see it. Mr. Wei was smiling so brightly, like a boy in love.”

The moment all the others heard that, they froze.

After a moment of silence, they all uttered, “He’s in love!”

Meanwhile, Wei Qing was impatiently staring at his phone on the table, even though he was always busy with documents.

He was waiting for Yan Chuyang’s call.

Logically, Yan Chuyang had confessed his love, so he should be stuck with him for some time.

After all, it was a fact that the boy had liked the man since he was fourteen.

Thinking of this, Wei Qing smiled again, his eyes fixed on the contract on the desk.

However, Yan Chuyang hadn’t called when it was already ten o’clock.

At eleven o’clock, Wei Qing checked his phone to see if it was turned mute, and then he restarted it. Yet there was still no missed calls or texts.

As the minutes were ticking away, he found himself unable to concentrate, sitting there quietly.

He was pondering why. It should be that Yan Chuyang hadn’t finished class yet. And the boy must be desperate to call him when it was over.

All he needed to do was be patient and wait a little longer.

He just kept waiting, and soon it was almost time for lunch.

On pins and needles, Wei Qing couldn’t help but call Yan Chuyang.

The phone rang for a long time before the boy finally picked up.

“Hello?” The boy’s cute voice sounded.

Wei Qing’s heart skipped a beat. His restless heart immediately became calm.

The man turned the pen in his hand and coughed, “Where are you now? Have you finished class?”

Yan Chuyang replied, “Um, I’m leaving the classroom.”

Wei Qing leaned back against the chair and picked up a framed photo of Yan Chuyang.

The boy never knew the man took a photo of him secretly.

In this photo, the boy was drawing on the balcony, so absorbed.

It was dusk. As the warm light shone on his tender face, he just looked indescribably beautiful and tender.

The man looked at the person in the photo, his heart soft. He asked, “Did you miss me?”

Yan Chuyang kept his voice down, “What are you doing, huh?”

He had never heard the man say such words before.

The man snorted unhappily, “What’s wrong? Is missing me something frightening?”

“No,” Yan Chuyang looked around and covered his phone with both hands. “I’m outside now. Too many people around me.”

If someone overheard them, Yan Chuyang would really feel awkward. That was just too lovey-dovey for him to say how much he missed the man on the phone!

“Well,” Wei Qing put the photo back on the desk and carefully wiped the fingerprints on it with a piece of tissue. “I want to hear you say you like me.”

“No,” Yan Chuyang refused firmly.

“Say it!”

“No.”

They suddenly fell silent.

After a few seconds, the boy murmured with a frown, “Wei Qing?”

“So you don’t like me anymore?” The man asked sulkily, “I’m not that attractive to you now?”

“Don’t think too much.” Yan Chuyang raised his voice anxiously, “I told you. There are so many people around. I’m just not used to it.”
