Crimson's Revenge
18 Prying
"I'm the youngest of 3 children, my parents were both doctors. Ever since I was a child I wanted to be an actor but my parents had opposed it at first. With perseverance and the support from my 2 elder sisters my parents eventually relented. Though my relationship with my father is still a bit sketchy everything was better than how it was before." He said lightly
In spite of the casual way he told his story, Reen felt his struggle for acceptance was hard.
"Hmm... for me singing and song writing is something I love to do. However I never dreamed of starting my own music career or even being this famous. I was at first forced to join for some unfortunate coincidence but eventually I did learn to love this industry but still I feel a bit embarrassed whenever I see myself singing and acting at my own videos."
She shared easing the depressing atmosphere a while ago. Reen didn't mention anything related to her family circumstances which Chad wisely didn't pry into.
However this did not hinder him from feeling a bit disappointed. He wanted to at least ask what her real name is but stop himself from doing so. He felt Reen didn't want to share anything about her identity which he didn't mind.
"We still have a few days together, I'll eventually get you to spill some beans [1]." He thought.
They reverted back to general topics after that, laughing and teasing with each other's stories and jokes.
"So Crimson..."
"C would do or Ms. C if you're not comfortable with that."
"Ms. C it is, so... Do you have a boyfriend?" Chad smoothly asked.
Reen choked at her half-finished shake.
"Sorry for that, what's with the sudden hot seat?" She took a tissue and wiped the dripping shake from her lips while trying to inject some humour on the sudden topic, blushing a bit in the process.
"Good thing the makeup is water based." She thought
"Well... everyone in our industry is thinking about it. You're a real mystery; no one knows what your real name is. You only appear in parties; some say you're actually a mafia boss while others say you're a young heiress who is next in line to a big fortune. Some rumours even say that you were the type of person who didn't really liked talking about yourself that much except if the other party is trustworthy, a close friend or someone you're really comfortable with. Which for the latter, I think is quite true." He smiled knowingly at her then took a small bite on his sandwich chewing slowly as though uninterested with the current topic.
"Do they really?" She said raising her left eyebrow
He shrugged nonchalantly.
