Crimson's Revenge
23 Renewed Conviction
She smiled at him then he unexpectedly laid his head on her lap which made her raise her hands in a surrender pose and stare at him as he was looking up at her with mischievousness in his eyes. Reen merely stared at him stupidly.
"Did you perhaps forgotten that we are currently filming?" He said teasingly
Reen's eyebrow raised and made her grin at him yet again. He blushed realizing their close proximity and shifted his head away from her; he stared instead on the trees opposite of them. The sky was getting darker now with the setting sun's rays showering them by its lights. She placed her left hand on his shoulder while her right hand played with his hair.
"Thank you..." she whispered as she stared at him. She then lifted her head and stared distractedly on the same direction as Chad was.
After a few minutes, his blushing face returned to normal. Her words made him smile and he slowly closed his eyes while the sun completely sets. A comfortable silence engulfed them.
After a few more minutes, the filming ended with that scene. Hue furiously charged at them pulling them apart. He half hugged Reen tightly while glaring at Chad viciously.
"That was a great impromptu. Your acting skills are top notch." He said with sarcasm yet no one could deny that, that scene was indeed great.
"That was not acting though." Reen and Chad thought, they stared at each other's eyes, smiled conspiringly which made Hue stare from Reen to Chad then back again while narrowing his eyes.
The crew who appeared from their hiding places laughed light heartedly by Hue's daughter complex. No matter how many times they see this situation, it still made them smile or laugh again and again.
"It never gets old" they thought
They arrange and tidied up everything before leaving. After a few minutes, everything was wrap up and ready to go.
Reen and Chad helped with the finishing up as well. Everyone bid each other goodbye and thanked each other for a good day's work. Reen then approached Chad while the crew started their cars.
"Thank you for you know…. It made me realize that pretending is useless and I should just face everything head on. I'll try harder to talk to him again tomorrow." She said with conviction.
"No worries." He said while having mixed feelings about her words.
He did not know if he should be happy for her or cursed himself for missing the opportunity to intricate himself into her heart when she was at her most vulnerable moment.
"See you tomorrow!" She smiled and run to their car.
"See you!" he weakly smiled.
