Chapter 20: Anxiety of Wakaba?

Wakaba was looking forward to the summer festival.

She hadn’t played with Daiki much since she became junior high school student. They were always together, but for the first time in a long time, she could play with him.

To get into the spirit, she put on her yukata.

“I’m going to show Daiki how cute his sister is!”

She thought.

Daiki was excitedly waiting for her to be picked up.

The intercom rang and Daiki arrived.

Jumping cheerfully out of the front door.

“And? Does it look good on me!”

and made a smug face.

“You look so cute!’

Daiki said.

“Yes! Great success!”

She thought in her mind.

“Thank you! Daiki!

Well, let’s go!”

and headed for the meeting place.

As they walked together, Wakaba was in a good mood.

She was happy because it had been a while since she was able to visit Daiki and because of the praise she had received earlier.

While talking in a good mood, they arrived at the meeting place in no time at all.

After arriving at the meeting place, she was praised by all of her friends.

Feeling even better, they headed to the festival site.

From there, she could hardly talk to Daiki.

Everyone else was talking to her and laughing with her, so she didn’t mind.

While moving around, enjoying the stalls and eating shaved ice with everyone, she had a lot of fun.

She glanced at Daiki on the way to the stalls, but since he seemed to be enjoying himself with everyone else, she decided to enjoy the party without worrying.

The time for having fun passed quickly and the time for the fireworks to start was approaching.

As everyone was moving to the place where they could see the fireworks, the crowd was getting bigger and bigger.

Wakaba, who was more excited than usual, did not notice the person who had stopped in front of her.

She bumped into him a little and sprained her leg.

“Ouch!”

She squeaked a little.

Shiraishi, who was just walking next to her, noticed immediately.

“Are you okay, Misaki?”

and came over to her.

The pain was worse than anticipated, so she frowned.

Then he said

“Let’s go to that bench over there.

Ride on my back.”

He said.

Everyone noticed and came up to her, looking concerned.

“I’m fine!”

She said.

“Don’t push yourself too hard!”

Shiraishi-kun told everyone to go watch the fireworks again, and Wakaba decided to go easy.

Not wanting to worry everyone, Wakaba rushed to the bench to get Shiraishi to carry her on his back.

She thanked Shiraishi for carrying her and sat down on the bench.

She was embarrassed by the fact that she was being carried on his back, and her face turned bright red.

“Shiraishi-kun, you can go watch the fireworks too!”

She tried to tell him

“I can’t leave an injured girl alone!”

He laughed and said.

Although she was apologetic but she was relieved.

She was worried about being alone.

“Just wait here for a minute!”

He ran away, but came back soon.

“I’ve wet a handkerchief, to cool your feet a little”

He handed me a handkerchief.

“Thank you!

And I’m sorry.

To have to use your handkerchief.”

She told him.

“Wash it and give it back to me! Haha.”

He said it so that she wouldn’t be bothered by it.

It made her laugh unintentionally.

Wakaba was still clueless about romance.

She knew that he was popular with girls.

He could do such a thing naturally, and he was handsome.

He should be popular with girls.

Not a few girls had mentioned Shiraishi’s name in their conversations.

Wakaba was not aware that she was popular, but she was the most popular girl in the junior high school, and Shiraishi was the most popular boy.

The pain in her leg had subsided.

Sitting on a bench, she decided to watch the fireworks for a while.
