Distant Love

Mr. Mark sat on the green grass under a peach tree in the Marks Mansion backyard, he inhale and exhaled the fresh air, listening to the bird sing. He poured some green tea in his tea cup and took a sip, closed his eyes and savoured the tea before swallowing. He drop the cup and closed his eyes feeling the breeze brush against his face, then he opened his eyes and asked Brock to call Chris.

Chris and Sophie were making breakfast together, their laughs can be heard echoing from the kitchen. His phone suddenly rang, he took it out and saw the number, his smiling face slowly turned emotionless, he answered and went out of the kitchen.

"Yes"

"The master wants to see you"

"Ok i will there" then he ended the call.

"Hey, my dad wants to see me. Wanna come?" he asked Sophie

"Mmmmm sorry, i told my mom i was gonna see her. It been long since we last met" she made those beautiful puppy eyes so as not to make him feel disappointed while smiling widely

"Oh...ok then tell her i said hy, i will come see her some time"

"I will and maybe i will come meet you there after"

"Ok sure, am sure Beatrix must be missing you"he pursed his lips then continued "Ok then i will go first" he turned and left the kitchen

Chris and Mr. Mark sat in the study in the Marks Mansion, Mr. Mark sat on his swivel chair behind his desk while Chris sat opposite to him on the other side. He reached under the desk and brought up a folder and passed it to Chris, Chris gave him a question look, he just nodded telling him to openand check. Chris took it and stared for a while before opening and reading the contents, his furrowed his brows and sharpened his gaze.

He then turned and looked at his father "I told you i am not ready, and with what happened under my nose, i still haven't fixed that"

"Chris" he paused then continued "You dont have to be ready to accept it. And no matter how far you run, you will have to accept it one day, so its better to start to do that now"

"But father...." he was cut mid sentence "Chris whether you are ready or not this is your choice but my choice is that i know you are ready"

"Fine, i will tell you what i think about it tomorrow" Chris stood up to walk out

"I may be dead tomorrow" his father said with a cold voice

"I feel like you really want to die" Chris said in a mocking voice

"Thats every murderers redemption son" he chuckled after replying

Chris just walked out of the room without replying, he went straight to his room and lay on the bed, closed his eyes and breath in heavily before exhaling slowly. Unintentional, he fell asleep, he slept for almost 2 hours. When he started to regain his conscience, he felt a weight on his left arm like something was one it, he slowly opened his eyes and looked at what it was, he smiled a bit then slowly removed his hand.
