"H-hey?" Klein awkwardly said as soon as his call got answered. He feels a bit awkward at calling this specific person

"What's up? Still thinking about the guy that you like, kiddo?" The person from the other end of the call asked

This person is none other than Kayden. Since Klein got this man's number, he texted him to say thank you for his help

As time goes by, Kayden becomes Klein's 'informal therapist'. That guy was unexpectedly quite good at giving advice and Klein always runs to him for help

The past few days were far from being easy for Klein. There were a lot of times when he wants to talk with Calix but can't due to the circumstances

It's not like Klein could accept Calic even if they were to start talking again. There is still a big barrier between them which was their sexuality

Fortunately, Kayden was there to continuously give some of his words of wisdom

Kayden even said that if Klein is not ready and still don't have any definite decision, he should stay still first

If Klein were to talk with Calix right now, the latter might misunderstood it. If Klein does that and ended up not really being able to accept Calix, wouldn't that just make the both of them more hurt?

Even if Klein was currently hurting, Kayden helped him realize something and that is he was also at fault here

No matter what the reason, Klein is the one that is unsure. Since he was the one the push Calix away, it isn't unfair for him to get hurt

Klein must also accept the consequences of his actions

Overall, Kayden is pretty partial. He only knows Klein and not the person that the latter likes but he didn't become bias at all

In fact, Kayden always managed to make Klein realize a bunch of things. As a result, he became Klein's go-to whenever there is something happening in his life

"Well... yeah" Klein answered in a tone that was similar to a whisper. He can't help but feel ashamed

Well, why wouldn't he? He literally pushed the one that he likes and here he is, feeling as if the whole world collapsed

"Sigh... college love is really hard. If you want to avoid someone, it would feel like the university is a small place. Not to mention, the both of you are even in the same circle of friends" Kayden commented with a sigh before he remembered something

"Anyway, I'm actually near your university. Stanford University, right? I'm at the ball and I'm unsure of what to eat. If you are free, you can come. Help me choose a restaurant and I'll listen to your problem. How's that?" Kayden offered and Klein hesitated for a bit but in the end, he agreed

If he were to continue staying on the campus, he might lose his mind. That was especially so if he were to continue seeing Calix flirting with a bunch of girls

It wasn't bad to chill outside

"Alright, I'll go there ASAP!" Klein replied. Although there is the option of him talking about his problems with his friends but it was uncomfortable for him

First of all, only Kayden knows that Klein doesn't want to be with Calix because he doesn't want to be with a straight guy

Second, Klein doesn't want to be teased. Although his friends are great, they aren't necessarily good at stopping themselves from teasing everyone every chance they got

And lastly, Kayden is like only an acquaintance. Klein is not too close with him yet and there are times when people find it easier to pour out their problems with a stranger

With that set, Klein ended the call and put his phone back in his pocket

Klein starts walking to get to the mall but he felt his wrist being grabbed by someone. When he looks at who it was, he saw Shane that he already forgot

"Where are you going?" Shane questioned while raising her brows. She didn't hear the whole conversation as Klein didn't put his phone on loudspeaker

Even then, it was quite fishy that Klein was going out after his call

"To the mall" Klein replied and he was about to continue walking when Shane pulled him again

"What?" Klein asked in annoyance

"Who are you going with?" Shane questioned as if she was a police investigating a murder suspect

"It's someone that you don't know" Klein answered and for the second time, he tried to break free from Shane but the woman just pulled him again

"Who is it? A guy or a girl?" Shane continue asking her questions much to Klein's annoyance

"It's a guy and it doesn't matter!" Klein replied unhappily before pulling his arm back as he walks away

Why does it matter if he is going to meet a guy or girl? It's not like he is going out to have a date!

Shane was left alone while watching Klein's retreating back with her mouth forming an 'O' shape

"I-it's actually a guy? I-is he going on a date?" Shane mumbled in disbelief. She planned to make Klein end up with Calix but her friend is actually going out on a date with someone that Shane doesn't even know?

Shane totally misunderstood Klein and her feet immediately brought her back into the library

With large footsteps, Shane walked towards Calix. As of right now, the girls from earlier are nowhere to be seen anymore. Only Cain and Calix were the ones in their table

"Hey, baby!" Cain greeted as soon as he saw Shane but his girlfriend ignored her

Shane loudly placed her bag on top of the table as she glared at Calix

"What happened? Why is Klein going out on a date? It's even with someone that I don't know!" Shane questioned both angrily and frustratedly

Is it possible that her friend impulsively went on a date because of Calix?

"D-date?" Calix muttered in disbelief before his face turned sour as if he just chugged down a whole bottle of vinegar

Wasn't it just days ago when he and Klein kisses each other? It wasn't even a whole week when Klein indirectly dump him and now you're telling him that Klein is already out on a date?

Calix's heart hardened from the pain and he let out an exasperated breath

"Why are you asking me as if I am the one in the wrong? He dumped me, how is it my fault?" Calix asked coldly

His heart was in turmoil. He badly wants to find out the guy that Klein is going out on a date with

However, what does it matter? Klein already dump him and even went out on a date. That was like a slap to Calix's face!

Although Calix still has feelings for Klein but must he become a martyr? Calix doesn't think so

"W-what?!" Shane blurted out in disbelief and she even look at Cain for a confirmation

As much as she doesn't want to admit it, Cain still nodded his head, and Shane knew that Cain wouldn't lie

As if all strength escape her body, Shane sat on the library chair with a complicated look on her face

Myriads of emotions and expressions appeared in her face which looks quite funny in Cain's eyes

If not for the current atmosphere around them, Cain might have burst out laughing already

It took quite a long time before Shane recovered a bit and she immediately looked at Calix

"Let's go!" Shane said and Calix raised his brows at her in a questioning manner

"I can't let my friend date an unknown guy! What if that bastard is a cheater or he just wants to take advantage of him?! I can't let that happen!" Shane said agitatedly but Calix act uninterested

"Then go, why are you looking at me?" Calix replied before scribbling at his notebook

He badly wanted to continue studying but how can he? How can he do that after knowing that Klein is out there on a date?

Just who was that guy? How is he bettered compared to Calix?

Is that guy more handsome? Is he that sweet for Klein to immediately date?

When did it start? How come they are moving so fast when Calix was like stepping in a minefield whenever he interacts with Klein?

Isn't this too unfair?

This piece of information left a bitter taste in Calix's tongue and he became frustrated. No matter how many times he read the same exact sentence from the book, he still can't understand even a single thing from it

"Come on, you can't give up like that! We need to protect Klein from that unknown bastard!" Shane insisted

She would rather have Klein date, Calix since everyone in their friend group knows him already. Although Shane doesn't want to be too nosy but she was worried that Klein was only doing this because of Calix

But seriously, why does her friend has to be this complicated?
