Emperor's Cunning Wife

A shock flashed across Taoyi's face when she picked up what Ning Lou said. She wanted take a sneak peek at Ning Lou's visage but her abrupt stare collide with the Empress' eyes. Her form turned rigid and in her mind she scolded her rude behaviour, but the genuine concern she saw on that slight frown was devoid of any bad intentions instantly calm her anxiety.

"Bengong sees you proper and obedient. You shall be named Xiao Taoyi and the head of my palace maids." Ning Lou decided, dispelling her initial thoughts of using Su Su to drive the other maids out. Taoyi seemed a good seedling, plus the fact that Ning Lou caught her weakness and innermost fear which she could use as to control her in the days to come.

Taoyi, ah, this one will have to rely on you from now on.

"This servant thanks niang Niang for the magnanimous grace." Xiao Taoyi knelt and kowtowed three times for the Empress' sudden promotion.

The others could only complain inside after Taoyi received the oral decree. Their faces became constipated. Even the m.a.t.u.r.e Su Su showed some dissatisfaction.

"The three of you shall be under her, Bengong prefers peace and hated disturbances. If any of you three is dissatisfied, tell Tang Mama to have you stationed elsewhere." Ning Lou said filled with a hidden threat.

"This servant understand." The three of them bent their bodies responded. Their lowered eyes carried wicked plans. Even without each other's consent, a tacit understanding reached in their hearts. Frame and have Su Su kicked out and then they can deal with each other afterwards.

Su Su felt a cold chill and saw Biying's venomous glare on the corner of her eyes which she ignore. The true faces of these three she knew, therefore she didn't have any reactions, and only have extra cautiousness in her mind.

"Alright, Bengong feels a bit tired. You three can withdraw. Taoyi you stay." Ning Lou turned around and went back to her red sandalwood chair. She had enough of the three, and didn't want to play anymore. The obedient image of Taoyi emerged in her mind, and her impression of the little maid became better.

Su Su, Biying, and Pei Zhi right at the moment Ning Lou turned around, glared more hatefully at Taoyi. Plans of framing Taoyi begun to cook at the individuals' mind.

Taoyi stood up under their envious and horrible gazes and went to Ning Lou's side.

Ning Lou seeing her caught in her steps, tenderly held her hand and walked towards the entrance of the inner quarters where the bed was located.

The three's unyielding eyes never left the two's back. It was supposed to be me, the three thought and cursed inside. When the two was out of sight, the three looked at each other saw the obvious jealousy.

Ning Lou beckoned Taoyi while staring at the gold gilded phoenix incense. She kept recalling the scenes yesterday. Clips of memory being replayed like a broken recorder combining with the earlier words of Su Su, Ning Lou realized the matter wasn't simple as 'laxative'. She vomited blood, how stupid of her to think it was mere laxative but why doesn't she feel…

That little bunny must have known something. Ning Lou needed to pay her a visit.

Taoyi stepped forward stood by the bed waiting for Ning Lou's orders.

"The matter yesterday, what's your opinion about it?"

Taoyi was stunned for a second before she answered, "This servant thinks that the missing maid and the eunuch's uniform being lost have some connections." Taoyi carefully chose her words while observing Ning Lou's expression.

"Oh, how can you be sure that they are connected? Bengong is unable to link them." What Ning Lou really said was true, with her missing memory; she was limited to judge the happenings properly. Back then, she was the mantis stalking the cicada and oriole but after transmigrating, she was in the light while the enemies were hiding in the dark.

Annoyed, Ning Lou looked up at the wooden beams and begun to wonder if this was a punishment. Meh- If talking about crimes, I only took money from corrupt officials, the other criminals did more unreasonable sins, but why I was the only one sent here? I will not complain if the others wouldn't be here, but that Xu should be here with me! Ning Lou complained relentlessly even though she knew it would be hopeless, she still spilled out and vented her unfair situation. However, Ning Lou never thought that her wish would come true, but then again this was a matter of the future.
