Not long after, the two arrived in front of rundown room, even with little light, Ning Lou could see termite holes, the scr.a.p.e marks on the walls, the old door that was close to ruin. Every step the two took would produce creaking sounds combine with the eerie atmosphere, the scene resembled the setting of a horror scene.

The small holes on the paper screen emitted some light, Ning Lou thought that the two would be inside. But when she opened the door without much difficulty, she frowned, it appears only one was present while the other must have gone to something or perhaps picking up their dinner. Is it the talkative rabbit or the quiet one?

The candlelight swayed along with the wind that disturbed it peaceful state. The shadow of a lone girl sitting huddled in one corner with her unkempt, the black tendrils scattered enveloping her body and masking half of her face, body riddled with wounds.

Filled with life, candid, and spirited, Ning Lou once use these words to describe the little rabbit, but when she had a glimpse just now made her inhaled heavily. She turned around and spoke at the female guide.

"Leave and don't come back! You must never speak to anyone that you met me!" Ning Lou spoke, her voice laced with threat sending chills on the female's spine.

"But….."The female guide tried to sneak a glance inside, she wanted to be a spectator.

"Step back. Don't make me speak a second time." Her young voice may be soft, but power that came along made the female guide trembled, her legs weakened, and the eagerness to see Xiao Yan got punished quickly diminished.

"Alright! Alright!" She left with her tails tucked in between.

Tcch! It was a wonderful opportunity to get revenge! The female guide thought as she found somewhere to hide to wait for something to happen.

Ning Lou only closed the door when she was sure that pesky female was far away.

The frown on her face became more unsightly as her intrusion elicited no reaction from the little girl. She didnt even turned her head towards her direction. Not even a flinch! Not moving any inch! There's something wrong!

Her body full of bandages with some parts stained with red suggested her sufferings from the torture. Clearly just a little girl undergoing such torment, the event must have haunted her.

Finally, she approached the corner where the little girl was, she kneeled and levelled her eyes to get a clearer picture. Carefully tucking the loose hair behind the small ears, the whole face without any obstruction was finally revealed.

"No! This isn't happening! Not when I manage to f*king get an all access ticket!" Ning Lou grumbled while miserably cupping her ex-maid's face with both hands. Others, who would witness such a scene, would say that Ning Lou was expressing such joy with her near-teary eyes after such a long reunion, however the only audience watching the scene wasn't moved. It clenched its hands ready to pounce on Ning Lou.

It crept to a corner watching the scene inside through the gaps in the paper screen.

Ning Lou was drowning in disappointment; both of her hands squeezed those plump cheeks. "What made you this? You could have chosen a different time to shut down! Now, you left this aunt alone to find that place! Ning Lou complained.

Xiao Qu only let her do what she wanted, aside from breathing and blinking, Xiao Qu didn't show any other biological reaction. This provided Ning Lou with an idea her condition was quite similar to PSTD (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder) or might even worse.

Her knowledge about PSTD was only in the surface as she once encountered a case in her childhood scam activities. One of the families she was adopted in had a child that had undergone a terrible accident. The family consulted a bunch psychiatrist and psychologists, Ning Lou only manage to hear a little bit of information why that child became lost all his emotions and became like a blank piece of paper.

Some people choose to withdraw from reality as a way to protect themselves from the memories and the things that induced their trauma. They choose avoidance as a safety measure and they might stay detached and numb be it for months or years.

But the worst part is when their emotions would get out of control or when their reliving the traumatic moment upon getting exposed to the things that made them remembered such a terrible memory.

Ning Lou was suddenly enlightened; both of her hands released the little girls' face and gripped her hands instead. She looked and down for a second, and when those deep pools gazed up again, seriousness shrouded her whole being.

"I know you're able to perceive the sounds from the surroundings. Xiao Qu, hear me out. Empty your mind, keep calm visualized yourself in a relaxing place where a pond is located you've been very tired and wanted to find a place to rest, on your way you found a pond then….." Ning Lou repeated her monologue in an unhurried manner. Several few minutes passed, she felt her throat dry and parched from the unending speech. She kept going on until Xiao Qu move her eyelids, Ning Lou thought that was to blink but Xiao Qu closed her eyes and never opened them again.

Ning Lou abruptly stood up, disbelief pasted on her face. Oh My! It was damn working!

She wanted to continue but a shadow crept on her back raising both of its arms wanting to knock out Ning Lou.

Thu

"Who are you?!" Xiao Yan asked angrily, the other free hand reaching for Ning Lou's neck. She was the shadow that was watching her every move.
