The spectator hiding in the darkness was waiting for a commotion to happen but she didn't hear any sounds of fighting inside. She waited and waited until her stomach grumbled from hunger.

"What's happening? They're so quiet!" The female impatiently complained bothered by the silence.

She bit her fingers, too curious to know what that Miss was doing.

Her eyes sparkled, she was about to crept her way closer, but the door opened so suddenly. Two figures emerged, and the illumination from the lamp helped her identify the silhouettes, one was Xiao Yan and the other was the Miss. Their clothes were devoid of any marks from a fight which made her puzzled.

Huh? What's going on? Where are they going? A deep crease was forming on her forehead as she begun to doubt what the Miss said before. Did she mislead her or is she really going to settle some old scores?

Xiao Yan felt a gaze directed at them and immediately looked over. The darkness made it difficult to spot any humanoid figures, so she relied on observing some moving outlines or sounds. But, she discovered nothing.

"What's the matter?" Ning Lou asked intrigued by Xiao Yan's abrupt actions. Her face had been painted according to Taoyi's features. Xiao Yan had wanted to ask about this, but Ning Lou only hinted that this was for convenience.

Both of them couldn't detect breath like those masters in Wuxia novels. So despite she had a feeling that there was someone spying on them, she had no way to confirm.

The female that was startled into further squeezing herself in the narrow gaps of two walls, and bit her lips, keeping any sounds from coming out.

"Nothing." Xiao Yan replied shaking her head of the previous suspicion. She clearly saw that annoying woman made a turn and disappeared after some words from the Empress. She wouldn't be possibly loitering around the area after being threatened.

The long walk almost lasted half an hour before they managed to reach their destination. By the time, they were both standing on the patio a few feet away from the pond. She didn't give Ning Lou any time to say even one word before Ning Lou was tackled into the pond.

"…" Ning Lou in the water could barely breathe. Her eyes showed white parts, and her limbs weakened from the struggle. She dearly wished this female would regain some sense and realized that their circ.u.mstances would render her unable to explain.

At least f*cking let go! So we could have a decent conversation!
