“You are being too cautious, First Elder.” The king disagreed.

The others exchanged glances and recalled the event, agreeing with the logic. That daoist and the old woman seemed to be protecting Li Qiye - an ordinary mortal with no prestige to speak of.

“I think this is likely.” After a brief moment of contemplation, one elder said.

“I was told that you had visited our sect as well.” The old demon nodded.

“Ancestor, I did want to borrow chaos refined jades from your sect.” She let out a sigh but this didn’t hinder her elegance.

“It was not a small amount.” The old demon said.

The sect master of Resting Bull couldn’t lend her the requested amount so she came back empty-handed, hence her visit to Insane Gate.

“We have an urgent need for them.” She smiled wryly and said: “His Majesty is discussing the matter with the elders, so I’m on my way to Li Shrine, I didn’t expect to see everyone here.”

“Li Shrine?” Li Qiye seemed interested.

Li Qiye’s eyes narrowed as he looked in that direction.

“I hope everything goes well.” The old demon said.

“Yes, me too.” She lamented the direness of the situation. It was humiliating going around asking for help but there was no other choice for her sect.
