“Is that your goal, Sir?” The old man said.

“Another attack, against an immortal.” The old man didn’t need time to think.

“Which one?” Li Qiye asked.

“An accessible and isolated one, the right circumstances for a backstab.” The old man said.

“Yes, a sure-kill backstab to devour the opponent, not just kill.” Li Qiye said.

Six-style was startled to hear this despite having an idea already.

“He wants to break through. His cultivation is most likely consolidated so he’s ready.” The old man said.

“At least one is eaten, perhaps not completely but more than half. Unsure about any other.” Li Qiye said.

“Is this how to become an immortal? It’s impossible, only the three immortals are at this level with our dao.” Fog interjected.

“The immortals were interested enough in a brute to teach him cultivation?” Fog asked.

“But didn’t they die to Moshi during Immortal Slaughtered War?” Six-style asked.

The war lasted a long while with heavy casualties for both factions. The final battle shattered Three Immortals.

“No, the truth wasn’t that simple. The three immortals wouldn’t have lost so fast given their abilities, and perhaps their defeat was due to an ambush.” Water said.

“Son killing parents isn’t a rare thing.” Fog said.

“Who knows, maybe, maybe not.” The old man shrugged. Nevertheless, he understood that this was most likely the case since he knew himself more than anyone else.

“Well, tell us already.” Water tapped his shoulder but he didn’t respond.

“Who else can be considered an immortal now?” Six-style asked.

“Evil Transformation and Fiendish Ground for sure. When Zhan Sansheng appears again, that’s another.” Water said.

“Anyone else?” This topic was too distant for Six-style.

“Have to count Desolate Ancestor.” The old man said.

“Desolate Ancestor is an immortal?” Six-style said emotionally.

“We can’t keep up with the younger generation. They excel while we stagnate.” Water said sentimentally.

“Who is the best choice?” Li Qiye asked the old man with a smile.
