“You are?” Li Xian could tell that the four were special.

He became cautious - something he didn’t feel while meeting Li Qiye for the first time. He might live in the wilderness but this didn’t mean he was a fool. There was no reason for them to be visiting his fallen clan.

The four stared at Li Xian and knew he was a normal cultivator. Anyone with the ability to leave had left long ago.

“Fellow Daoists, we are students from Orchid Academy visiting Old Ruins. We are looking for a place to rest, would that be alright?” The prestigious young man bowed.

“Orchid Academy?” Li Xian heaved a sigh of relief.

Orchid was a famous institution in Old World. It didn’t have the same dominance as Desolate Frontier or Seventy-two Skyraisers. Nevertheless, even emperors and desolate gods wouldn’t mind learning there.

The students went through a rigorous selection process - all were highly regarded individuals with limitless potential.

In Old World, the two best places for learning were Orchid Academy and Sacred Mountain. The former was far simpler, always maintaining a neutral stance.

“Come in, come in.” He opened the gate and let them inside.

The students looked around, especially the girl. Upon seeing Li Qiye, she squinted and pressed her lips together.

“Fellow Daoist, your residence is haunted.” The monk said seriously.

“Uh...” Li Xian forced a chuckle as he replied: “We’ve always been living here.”

“Monk Zhu, your bad habit is rearing its head again, you’re scaring him.” The girl chastised.

“My apologies, but we can ask Brother Mu as well.” The monk placed his palms together, looking both clever and cute.

“I suppose, this can be considered training.” Princess Chen was persuaded.

“So be it, let’s hunt some ghosts.” Mu Hu found this amusing.

“Would that be alright with you, Fellow Daoist?” Orchidcore asked Li Xian: “You shouldn’t stay here for much longer without ridding it of the ghosts or you might be the last generation.”

“Fellow Daoists, I only have four walls left and cannot afford the payment.” Li Xian tried to refuse.

Initially, he didn’t mind the ghosts since he considered them as his ancestors. Moreover, Li Qiye also said that this wasn’t a supernatural matter.

“Rest assured, fate has brought us together and we have no intention of charging you. However, if you insist on repaying us, then let us stay here for two days.” Orchidcore shook his head.

Li Xian couldn’t help but stare at Li Qiye, wanting his help.

“They can try if they wish, it’s just that some ghosts aren’t that easily expelled.” Li Qiye said.

“We will try our best, I believe we can get it done.” Orchidcore responded.

His clan, the Mu, was once a powerful dao lineage. As its genius, he was capable and often exceeded his peers.

“Don’t worry, Brother Orchidcore can take care of any foul creatures with his Mobai Blade.” Princess Chen smiled.

“Teasing me again? My meager skills only let down the ancestors.” Orchidcore had an awkward smile.

“Mobai Blade.” Li Qiye glanced at the youth after hearing this.

“You probably don’t know. Mobai Blade is an unbeatable dao created by Progenitor Mobai.” Princess Chen said because Li Qiye was either a mortal or a weaker cultivator than Li Xian.

“Mobai Blade of the Mu.” Li Xian was visibly impressed.
