The house was surrounded by many magical traps, all exuding an aura of dark magic.
Further probing with their spiritual power, they sensed a life force within the room, but it didn't appear to be human.
Zicomo led the two women away from the trap and into the house.
The house looked like it hadn't been lived in for a long time, with a thick layer of dust piled up everywhere.
You can vaguely see that the room's furnishings under the dust have two styles: one from hundreds of years ago and the other more modern.
It's clear that people lived here later.
However, the modern furniture blends well with the original style of the house, showing that the newcomer has good taste.
The three decided to split up and explore the house.
Upon entering the study, unlike the dusty lobby outside, it was generally quite tidy.
The bookshelves were filled with all sorts of books, most of which had a strange air about them and didn't look like good books.
Zicomo approached the desk, where several books were laid out, most of them related to the soul.
The desk drawer was locked, and Zicomo tried to cast the unlocking spell, but there was no response.
It seems this place has been protected by magic, but I don't know what kind of magic it is.
Zicomo scanned the magic with his mental energy and quickly understood the principle behind it, then deciphered it.
He opened the drawer, inside were several black leather diaries.
He recognized this style of diary; he had seen the same diary a few months ago, the owner of which was named Tom Wesley.
He picked up one of the books, turned to the title page, and there it also said "Tom... the Pervert."
Good heavens, the drawer was so well protected. Zicomo thought there was something good inside, but it turned out to be Voldemort's diary.
Judging from the thickness of these diaries, Voldemort must have stayed here for quite some time.
Zicomo flipped through the diary, which recorded Voldemort's observations upon first arriving in the area.
He flipped through the next few books, most of which were records of Voldemort's research into dark magic.
Some of these are Voldemort's reflections and his dissatisfaction with the current state of the wizarding world.
But to Zicomo, it all sounded like the delusional pronouncements of a misanthropic, immature teenager wanting to rule the world.
Zicomo was extremely embarrassed; he was practically digging his toes into the ground.
In the later diaries, the name on the pages had changed from Tom? to...
It seems that Voldemort underwent a significant transformation here.
He abandoned his Muggle father's surname and no longer used the name Tom S.
At this point, the diary's contents became Voldemort's general plan for ruling the wizarding world, including winning over pure-blood families and eliminating Muggle-born wizards.
The last book is a record of Voldemort's soul escaping back here after Harry deflected his spell.
Furthermore, this diary has recently been updated, recording Voldemort's second failure to seize the Philosopher's Stone and his daily life back here.
It's basically about how I ate a few more animals today, using their life force to sustain my remnant soul—a rather boring story.
It seems that Voldemort's remnant soul is hiding here. Since we haven't seen him in the house, he's probably out hunting for food.
After reading these diaries, Zicomo had only one thought: never keep a diary.
If you write down what's on your mind, is it still considered what's on your mind?
Who knows, one day someone might discover your dark past, just like Voldemort did.
Zicomo couldn't imagine what would happen if his dark past were discovered; he might have to live on another planet.
"what!!!"
Just then, Hermione screamed outside the room, and Zicomo rushed over to the sound.
Upon entering a bedroom, Hermione was protected by a white light barrier and was fighting a twelve-inch-long viper.
That giant snake must be the life force that Zicomo sensed outside the house earlier.
The white shield is one of the protective items Zicomo gave Hermione, creating an all-around armored spell to protect her.
This is also why Zicomo felt comfortable letting Hermione act alone; she had plenty of protective gear.
With the protective shield in place, the giant snake was unable to break through Hermione's defenses.
On the contrary, Hermione's spells repeatedly harmed the serpent.
Seeing that its attack had no effect, and seeing Zikomo rush in, the giant snake turned and attacked Zikomo.
As a result, the giant snake was bound in mid-air and unable to move by Zicomo's wave of his hand. Only then did the giant snake realize that it had kicked a hornet's nest.
Lani arrived just then. She looked Hermione up and down, and seeing that Hermione wasn't injured, she breathed a sigh of relief but also asked somewhat exasperatedly, "You're not hurt, so why are you yelling here?"
Hermione stuck out her tongue awkwardly and pointed at the snake, saying, "Sorry, this snake suddenly jumped out and startled me, so I couldn't help but scream."
It was only then that Lani noticed that a large snake was also floating in the air.
She sized up the large snake before her, her gaze sending chills down the snake's spine.
The snake was very familiar with this gaze; it usually looked at its prey in the same way.
Sure enough, it then saw the human girl in front of it turn around and ask the boy next to her.
"Your Majesty, can we eat this snake?"
Before Zicomo could answer, the giant snake shook its head repeatedly in the air, its eyes pleading as it looked at Zicomo.
Upon witnessing this, Zicomo roughly determined the snake's identity.
It can understand human speech and has such high intelligence, so it is most likely the last Horcrux of Voldemort in the original book—Nagini.
I heard that she was originally a cursed beastman who inherited her family's blood curse, which allowed her to switch between human and snake forms, but the curse eventually turned her into a snake completely.
"Sorry, this snake probably won't work, because it was most likely a person before."
Zicomo's words made Lani look away from Nagini in disappointment.
It's a pity, the snake soup she had at Hogwarts was quite delicious, and she thought she would be able to enjoy it to her heart's content again today.
"Alright, we've explored enough. The owner of this place should be back soon, so let's leave now."
As he spoke, Zicomo tossed Nagini into the "Zen Garden" and walked toward the door.
Before Hermione could ask Zicomo why he said the snake in front of her used to be a person, she was told that the house was actually inhabited.
This surprised Hermione; who would live in such a dreadful place?
If someone is actually living here, shouldn't they at least clean the place up a bit?
However, Hermione wasn't in a hurry to ask questions, and instead left with Zicomo.
As he passed by the study, Zicomo also emptied it out, taking Voldemort's diary with him.
Not long after Zicomo left, Voldemort, who had gone out to hunt for food, returned to his lair.
In this deserted valley, only Nagini's company could bring a sliver of warmth to this broken soul.
However, Voldemort did not find Nagini in the bedroom.
At first, he thought Nagini wasn't in this room, but he searched several other rooms and still couldn't find her.
He assumed Nagini had gone out to find food, until he saw the empty study.
Voldemort then realized that his home had been raided.
He tried to locate Nagini through telepathy, but to no avail.
"Damn it! Don't let me find out who you are, or I'll tear you to pieces!"
Voldemort let out a roar of impotent rage, his remnant soul tumbling out of the house, searching for the thief's trail.
He hadn't been out searching for food for long, so Voldemort deduced that the damned thief hadn't gone far.
However, Voldemort found no one near the house.
Once he calmed down, he realized that there might be intruder's footprints on the ground.
Zicomo didn't use the magic carpet when he left, so Voldemort actually found the three's footprints.
He quickly followed the footprints and chased after them.
Chapter 115 A Lively Zen Garden, A Mysterious Church
Voldemort followed the footprints and soon arrived at a jungle.
The footprints disappeared here, and there were some bloodstains on the ground. The grass around the bloodstains was messy, as if it had been swept by a whip.
Voldemort, who had dealt with snakes for years, recognized them as marks left by the snake as it struggled and thrashed about before dying.
"No! My Nagini!"
Voldemort let out a furious roar of grief and anger.
However, the Nagini he mentioned was currently in Zicomo's "Zen Garden," where it was left aside by Zicomo, trembling as it watched Zicomo handle the python in his hands.
He feared that the next second it would become a dead snake in Zicomo's hands.
