One Piece Talk King: Starting with Commentary on Devil Fruits

Drum Island had just been ravaged by the Blackbeard Pirates. The king abandoned his subjects and fled alone, leaving behind a bunch of people who were powerless to resist.

Fortunately, the Blackbeard Pirates didn't have many members at the time. They looted some treasure, burned some houses, and killed some people before leaving Drum Island by ship. The pain left on the islanders was still within a tolerable range.

If it were the Blackbeard Pirates, one of the Four Emperors in the later stages of the series, aside from the executives who enjoyed killing, the underlings who joined him could have devoured Drum Island. Such a pirate crew is unproductive and only destroys and robs the property of the weak.

Chapter 44 The First Wave

The first wave of battles is about to begin on the coast of Drum Island.

"It really is Wapol. Giving up being king to become a pirate, he's a disgrace to the member states."

As Ikaram watched the fleeing king laughing wildly aboard the White Iron King, he wasn't feeling sorry for Wapol; he was more worried about the future of the Kingdom of Alabasta.

"Chopper the Reindeer Monster has no future! Are you all going to die with him today? Fire! Blow them up!"

At His Majesty's command, the gunners on the pirate ship quickly loaded cannons, aiming the muzzles at the Going Merry. Under Lord Jess's guidance, more than a dozen iron cannons were ready to fire.

Boom boom boom!

The exploding bullets fired by the White Iron King not only targeted the Straw Hat crew, but also the civilians on the shore. Explosions echoed along the coast of Drum Kingdom, sending up towering columns of water.

"What a cruel king, Lion's Song of One-Sword Style."

Zoro stood on the deck and unleashed a powerful slash, easily shattering the incoming cannonballs as he protected the Going Merry from harm.

Waalpo's sudden shelling caught the people on the coast off guard. The exploding shells exploded among the crowd, causing many deaths and injuries in an instant.

Those who were killed on the spot were considered lucky. The civilians who survived were riddled with shrapnel. They were made of flesh and blood and did not have Devil Fruit powers. Once they were hit by the cannon, they could only lie on the ground and wail.

Dalton used his Zoan-type Devil Fruit ability to transform into a humanoid black bull, causing the people around him to fall to his feet and take the brunt of a devastating bullet with their own bodies.

The immense power of the cannonball nearly shattered the former guard captain's spine. A new round of shelling continued.

"Rubber balloon"

Before anyone knew it, Luffy had reached the shore. He instantly inhaled a massive amount of air, expanding his rubber body to shield the innocent civilians on the shore from incoming cannonballs.

The exploding shell hit the rubber man, but instead of exploding immediately, it bounced back, returning the shell to its rightful owner and letting the crew of the White Iron King experience what it felt like to be bombarded.

Luffy can't use Gear Third yet, so his attack power against ships is limited. He can't destroy the White Iron King instantly, so he can only engage in close-quarters boarding combat. At this moment, he can only watch as the enemy gunners load new shells, and King Wapol's next round of cannon fire is about to begin.

"Let me do it, Zoro, can you help me?"

Swordsman Zoro, needing to protect his ship, couldn't board the enemy vessel. He immediately understood Eren Yeager's meaning, stood beside the slender young man, and prepared to see him off.

Eren's punch was swallowed whole by Wapol, who continued swallowing up his arm. His terrifying Devil Fruit ability gave him an amazing stomach; given enough time, he could swallow an entire Titan.

Chapter 45 Solution

The sound of artillery fire from outside Drum Island was so loud that even Chopper and Reha, who were on Drum Mountain, could hear it clearly. Their first thought was that Luffy and his crew had probably landed.
