“Bruce?” Stark tilted his head slightly. “Why did you suddenly think of him?”
Peter replied matter-of-factly, "Because Dr. Bruce Banner is a genius who simultaneously earned doctorates in seven fields: robotics, nuclear physics, radiation physics, biochemistry, mechanical engineering, computer science, and mathematics! Most importantly, he's also the Hulk!"
Peter only learned after reading the Avengers' internal documents that the famous Hulk was actually Dr. Bruce Banner, one of the most talented and brilliant scientists of modern times!
It's not his fault.
Before this, everyone believed that Bruce Banner had died in an experimental accident more than ten years ago!
Even above the blackboard in Peter's classroom, there was a black and white photograph of Dr. Banner! (PS①, see author's note)
Looking back now, it must have been someone above who deliberately covered up Dr. Banner's information.
Indeed, it's not necessarily a good thing for ordinary people to know that Bruce Banner and the Hulk are the same person.
This applies to both Dr. Banner himself and the people mentioned above.
So, quite naturally, Bruce Banner was "dead".
Speaking of which, it seems like we haven't seen Hulk since the Sokovia incident. Could it be that he was locked up because he caused trouble on the streets?
Stark looked at Peter, clearly annoyed by the adoration in his eyes for Bruce Banner: "Don't count on Bruce. He disappeared after Sokovia, along with a Quinjet. It's likely he's now adrift in space, or perhaps..."
At this point, Stark fell silent.
He and Dr. Banner actually had quite a lot in common.
Dr. Banner is a true polymath.
He designed the Hulkbuster armor with him and built Ultron with him.
Of all the superheroes, he admires Dr. Banner the most.
The thought that he might have died in the vast universe made Stark feel incredibly sad.
Peter opened his mouth, but for a moment he didn't know what to say.
Could it be that the black and white photos in the classroom, which were originally just fake, are about to become real?
“By the way, Mr. Stark, I have a small request,” Peter said, scratching his head somewhat sheepishly and using a long-unused honorific.
Stark glanced at him: "Tell me."
Peter said, "I want to start school early."
"Go to college?" Stark repeated.
“Well,” Peter nodded, “I’ve already mastered all the high school material, so I want to go to university as soon as possible.”
“You want more personal time, don’t you?” Stark ruthlessly exposed Peter’s pretense.
Peter chuckled awkwardly.
Stark was right.
Having mastered all the knowledge from high school is actually only one aspect.
The most crucial reason is that he now feels that having to go to school at fixed times every day takes up too much of his time.
Moreover, all of this time is wasted meaninglessly.
Because he had already mastered all the content taught in class.
Even those skills he hadn't mastered before, he mastered with great proficiency during these several time travels.
To put it bluntly, his knowledge in certain fields is now almost enough to earn him a doctoral degree!
Moreover, like universities, high schools in the United States use a credit system.
Students can graduate after completing 24 credits (16 credits for compulsory courses and 8 credits for elective courses) during their four years of high school.
These credits are nothing to Peter now; he can get them anytime he wants.
He hadn't considered this before because he felt he was still young and there was no need to rush into university so early.
However, from the information given by Professor X in the future that he met in earth-120703, he learned that Professor X also graduated from high school at the age of 16 and went on to study at Oxford University.
After careful consideration, this is actually not a bad choice.
After entering university, he will have more free time.
This way, he can have plenty of time to do research, become a superhero, travel to other worlds, help Spider-Men, and so on.
The price he will pay is nothing more than this: he will no longer enjoy the pleasure of learning and growing together with his peers.
But to be honest, Peter didn't really have much in common with many of his classmates.
Therefore, the "cost" of this point is reduced to an infinitesimal level.
The only problem now is that this is not the time when universities are recruiting students.
Even if he has graduated now, he may not be able to contact them.
That's why this question came about.
Thank you Cheng Xiao for the 1500 Qidian Coins reward, and thank you everyone for your monthly tickets and recommendation tickets!
PS1: In *Spider-Man: No Way Back*, there's a classroom scene where the first person on the right is Dr. Banner, in a black and white photograph. Hanging next to him are figures like Newton and Einstein. These people share two common characteristics: first, they were all highly accomplished scientists; second, they're all deceased.
Chapter 150 Betty the "Golden Cat"
“Hmm,” Stark pondered for a moment, then nodded slightly. “With your abilities, continuing in high school would indeed be a waste of time. So, which university do you want to go to? If it’s MIT, I can say something about it.”
Peter glanced at Stark's expression and expressed serious skepticism about the "little thing" he was talking about.
Is this "little bit" more like "a hundred million bits"?
Stark sometimes pretends to be humble while flaunting his assets.
Peter was somewhat tempted.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is a world-renowned private research university founded in 1861. It has six schools, and is particularly famous for its engineering and computer science programs, which rank among the top universities in the world.
Tony Stark himself graduated from MIT with a PhD in Electrical Engineering.
This was indeed Peter's former "dream school".
but
After hesitating for a moment, Peter declined Stark's offer, cautiously saying, "May I think about it carefully first?"
Stark nodded: "Whatever you want. Let me know when you've thought it through, and I'll make the arrangements."
“Yes, thank you, Mr. Stark,” Peter said repeatedly.
Stark glared at him: "Remember to contact me if anything happens. Don't keep it all to yourself like an idiot. I've been there. I've seen more atomic structures than you've seen molecular combinations."
"Okay."
Stark left.
After Peter waved goodbye to him, he returned to the living room and asked Betty and Ned why Stark had suddenly appeared there.
It turns out that Peter returned here around 2:30 pm today, sent a message, and then "fainted".
However, because of the message Peter sent at the beginning, they didn't say anything after they arrived, and just went about their own business.
But Peter remained unconscious for several hours after that.
If Betty and her husband hadn't seen that he was still breathing, they would have almost called for an ambulance!
However, Stark came to inspect the place at that moment.
Knowing Peter's Spider-Man identity, Betty and Ned didn't react excessively beyond excitement to Iron Man's arrival.
After all, everyone knows that Spider-Man and Iron Man are both Avengers and are part of the same team.
And they are Spider-Man's teammates.
If you round it up, they're Iron Man's teammates, practically half an Avenger.
However, when Stark saw Peter's condition, his expression changed drastically, as if facing a formidable enemy.
He originally just came to check on his little brother's small team, which he had set up all by himself, and to see if it was reliable. He was also thinking about whether the Avengers should provide some technical support.
But unexpectedly, Peter "fainted".
And the dizziness would last for several hours!
Edith's scan also revealed that Peter's life magnetic field in that state was much weaker than in the normal state!
This situation is very similar to Peter's state right after he was possessed by the Venom symbiote!
Stark was naturally on high alert, considering the threat posed by the Venom symbiote.
If Peter hadn't shown no change and hadn't exuded that involuntary, chilling aura, he would have already sent people to clear out the surrounding area immediately.
"Are you really alright, Peter?" Betty asked worriedly.
Peter shook his head and laughed easily, "No problem at all, I'm incredibly strong right now. But you two, it's so late, how about I take you home first?"
It's already 8 PM, and it's almost time for American-style well-behaved babies to go out.
"Oh no! Why is it so late!" Betty exclaimed in surprise, somewhat flustered.
I was so worried about Peter's condition that I forgot about the time.
