shhhhh--
Several strands of spider silk suddenly flew in from all directions and stuck to various parts of Cassilius's body, making him feel like prey stuck in the center of a spider web, unable to move.
Strange paused, dusted himself off, stood up, and gave Peter, who was standing next to him, a questioning look.
Peter grinned: "Do you know what the most amazing thing in the world is?"
"What?" Strange asked instinctively.
"It's math!"
Chapter 83 Dark Power
I used to firmly believe in mathematics and physics, until one day, a bald witch slapped my soul out of my body; later, I began to believe that magic was everything, but a child in battle armor told me that the most magical thing in the world was mathematics, and he actually used mathematics to counter magic. —by the devastated second-rate sorcerer Strange
Peter followed suit, using both hands to shoot out spider silk that stuck to the surrounding environment. These seemingly random spider silks would eventually appear inexplicably on the fanatical followers of Cassius.
Finally, following in the footsteps of Cassius, his underlings also followed in his footsteps.
All the villains were bound by spider silk.
Strange and Mordo stopped, looked at Cassilius and the fanatics, then at Peter, their heads buzzing.
"How did you do that?" Strange couldn't help but ask.
Peter explained, "The trajectory created by a point moving away from a fixed point at a constant speed while simultaneously rotating around that fixed point at a constant angular velocity is called an Archimedean spiral, or a constant-velocity spiral, in geometry. Therefore, I only need to set the target as a fixed point and substitute it into a Cartesian coordinate system based on the Archimedean spiral."
"Stop!" Strange stopped Peter's excited commentary.
His head is spinning right now.
They even began to doubt the power of magic.
He had only recently entered the path of the Dharma Master.
In fact, just over six months ago, he was just an ordinary but talented neurosurgeon whose superb skills made him wealthy, driving luxury cars, living in mansions, indulging in extravagance and endless pleasure.
It wasn't until he was in a car accident that his nerves in both hands were severely damaged, making him unable to hold a scalpel again.
In desperation, he turned to Kamar-Taj.
Then there, the Ancient One struck him with a palm, putting him directly into a soul state, and taking his thoughts on a journey through many different dimensions, essentially shattering his original worldview.
Over the next few months, the Ancient One taught him how to summon extradimensional energy to form weapons and shields, project objects, and travel between dimensions.
Although he possesses a faster learning speed and greater ability to understand magic than most people, his past understanding of reality and the material world becomes an obstacle to his becoming a mage.
Finally, the Ancient One threw him to the summit of Mount Everest. Under the threat of death, he finally shattered his remaining understanding of the past worldview and firmly believed that magic was the only true power in the world.
After that, his magical skills improved rapidly.
As he learned magic, his understanding of the world also changed fundamentally; he abandoned physics and mathematics altogether.
Now, reminded by Peter...
Damn it, the memories of the dead suddenly attacked him!
Strange's Dao heart is unstable.
Mordo slapped Strange, waking him from his daze.
As Strange's mentor, he didn't want Strange to "go astray" like this.
He also gave Peter a subtle look, roughly meaning that he should stop talking about math.
If Strange had already become a fully-fledged mage, that would be one thing, but he's only just begun.
If we roughly divide mages into four levels from lowest to highest: Mage Apprentice, Mage, Elite Mage, and Sorcerer Supreme, then Strange is, in terms of his mindset, just a Mage.
However, he was exceptionally gifted, possessed a wide array of spells, and even wielded the Eye of Agamotto, an artifact only the Sorcerer Supreme could control. This granted him the strength of an elite sorcerer, leading to his appointment as the guardian of the Sanctum Sanctum in New York.
Peter was a little confused, but he obediently shut his mouth.
Seeing Strange's bewildered expression, he almost thought his mouth had acquired magical attack capabilities.
Strange took a deep breath and exhaled, clearing his mind of distractions.
He stopped thinking about the mathematical problems and looked at the bound Cassius and the fanatics.
Mordo said, "I'll contact the Ancient One and have her handle them."
“Hmm,” Strange nodded, looking at Peter, “Thank you, Spider-Man. I really don’t know what to do with him without you.”
"Is it?"
At that moment, a sinister voice rang out.
Immediately afterwards, a huge burst of dark energy erupted from Kasirius.
Peter's spider-sense gave a warning the instant the dark energy appeared. He pushed Strange and Mordo away with both hands, and then jumped high into the air.
boom!
A black spear formed from dark energy swept past where they had just stood, and a series of mirror-shattering sounds echoed in its wake.
“You know nothing of the power of darkness!” Cassius said, breaking free from the spiderweb and landing on a floating rock, clenching his fists.
His eyes were fixed on Peter.
His previous exchange had made him realize that he couldn't deal with Strange without first eliminating the clown in the strange clothes.
“You, go deal with Strange and Mordo,” Cassilius said.
The fanatics swarmed in.
"Watch out for his dark magic!" Strange only managed to say this to Peter before being driven away by the fanatics.
"The power of darkness? But you're still stuck with math, aren't you? That means the power of darkness isn't all that great," Peter said, squatting on a floating boulder with his feet almost together and his hands resting on the soles of his feet, tilting his head to look at Cassius. "So, what are you so smug about?"
"Hmph!" Cassilius, enraged, clenched his fists, dark energy swirling around them, and charged at Peter.
Peter was startled at first, but quickly became puzzled.
They boast about how powerful this dark power is, so why didn't Kasirius's spider sense react at all to his attack, which incorporated dark power?
Did we encounter a delayed attack like the one Hawkeye used before?
Or is he just too strong?
Unable to make a judgment immediately, Peter hesitated for a moment and decided to be cautious and observe first.
So he lightly jumped away from where he stood.
With a loud "boom," the spot where Peter had just been standing was smashed to pieces.
However, this shattering doesn't turn into large or small pieces of rock like in the outside world; instead, it scatters like broken crystal.
It does look rather intimidating.
But Peter always felt something was wrong.
It's not as amazing as he imagined?
Out of caution, Peter decided to observe further.
It wasn't until after a few more moves that Peter finally realized something.
That is: Cassilius, who has mastered some dark power, is not as powerful as he thought!
Chapter 84 Ancient Master
Now that it was confirmed, Peter decided to fight back.
When Cassius leaped at him again and attacked with a whip kick imbued with dark power, Peter did not dodge far this time. Instead, he took a small step, grabbed Cassius's leg, and then, to Cassius's slightly astonishment, slammed him to his feet.
Cassius was still somewhat dazed when his face made intimate contact with the ground.
He really didn't expect it.
How come the guy who was chased to the brink of death by me suddenly turned around and started fighting back?
And the force of that counterattack was so great that it knocked him to the ground.
This left Cassius somewhat bewildered.
Peter wouldn't wait for him to react.
For him, it was better if Cassilius did not resist.
He raised his foot and stomped hard, intending to break Cassius's spine.
This evil entity wants to summon a Dark Dimension controller named Dormammu to invade the real world, disregarding the lives of billions of people.
Peter showed no mercy to this guy.
Click!
A sound like bones shattering rang out.
But Peter's feet did not receive any feedback from stepping on flesh.
It turned out that Cassilius had used magic mixed with dark power to create a red and black magical shield.
Peter's foot was on that magical shield.
