A short while later, a spatial portal appeared in front of Hill, and Black Dust jumped out from it, almost colliding with Hill, but passed through it using his ethereal ability.
"Master, you scared me to death!"
Hill patted his chest, clearly quite startled by the sudden appearance of black dust, and squinted his eyes as he scolded.
"Alright, you didn't actually bump into anything, did you?"
Hei Chen stroked Hill's head. The familiar touch startled Hill, and tears welled up in his eyes. He threw himself into Hei Chen's arms and hugged him tightly.
"Alright, you're such a big person now, why are you still trying to snuggle into my arms?"
Heichen put away the Jizo Soul to prevent it from hitting Sheele. His hands were hanging in the air, unsure of where to put them. Seeing that the situation was about right, he gently told Sheele to let go.
With tears in her eyes, Hill let go of Hei Chen's hand and stood in front of him, a smile forming on her face as she wept, her voice sounding both happy and relieved.
"Long time no see, Master."
"Yes, it's been a long time, little Hill."
Hei Chen supported his right arm with his left hand, rested his right hand on his chin, tilted his head slightly, and smiled as he asked, "How have you been in the Sea of Quanta?"
"It's great, I have Xier and the others with me."
The two looked at Hei Xi, who was standing to the side in a daze, and realized that they were looking at them. Hei Xi looked at the two of them in confusion, wondering why they were looking at her.
"What are you looking at me for?"
"nothing."
Black Dust shook his head. Before Kevin arrived, he wanted to chat with Hill a bit more and explain a few things. Honestly, why did Black Dust give him such a task? He had erased his memories; Black Dust was treating him like a mere tool.
“Hill, I’m just a secondary personality of Dust. The primary personality doesn’t have any memories of the previous civilization, so be careful when you switch back later and don’t give yourself away.”
"Got it, I'll make sure to complete the task!"
Hill made an exaggerated salute, stepped forward to Black Dust's side, grabbed his shoulder, and looked at him with curiosity.
"Master, why do you do this?"
"It's all because your master, my main personality, gambled everything on the present civilization in order to fight against the Honkai."
"Can't understand."
"Never mind if you don't understand."
Black Dust didn't expect Hill to be able to extract any useful information from those words. As long as she didn't ruin the plan, it wouldn't matter if she accidentally let something slip. He could just delete some of Luo Chen's memories.
"Kevin's almost here, let's hurry up and go."
"Alright, Master, which way do we go?"
Hei Chen pointed forward and saw that Hei Xi had fallen into a daze again. He quietly circled around behind her and suddenly shouted, startling Hei Xi.
"What are you doing now, you rascal?"
Hei Xi showed no mercy to Hei Chen, swinging his scythe at Hei Chen's face, the blade piercing through Hei Chen's skin and striking the wall, leaving a scratch.
"I see you're still sleepwalking, let me wake you up."
"Who said I was sleepwalking!"
Hei Xi gritted her teeth and swung her scythe at Hei Chen again, but Hei Chen grabbed the scythe handle and forcibly stopped her. She retorted angrily and turned away.
"Master, please stop teasing Xi'er."
Hill came to Hei Xi's side to comfort her, and Hei Chen couldn't help but laugh when he saw the two little ones. He took one in each hand and led them forward.
"Let's go, or Kevin will come and beat me up."
"Hey Luo, you can hold Sister Hill's hand, why are you holding mine!"
Hei Chen led the two to a room, coldly looking at the remains of the assassins outside the door. Flames appeared in his hand, and he burned them all in one go.
"It's still too late."
Hei Chen spoke softly, turning to look at Kevin who was chasing after him. His eyes were filled with boundless coldness, his right hand clenched into a fist, and his voice grew louder.
"Ling has been sealed away, and Ying is dying too. Are you still going to stop me?"
A powerful burst of Honkai energy erupted from Black Dust. Seeing that Kevin didn't make a move, Black Dust scoffed, slashed at the door in front of him, kicked it away, and walked in on his own.
The dimly lit room was covered in knife marks. Sakura leaned against the wall alone, with the broken Frozen Prison and the Black Box beside her.
Sakura clutched her still-bleeding abdominal wound, feeling extremely cold, and struggled to breathe in the blood-scented air.
"cherry."
Hei Chen's face was expressionless, neither sad nor happy. He was only a few steps away from Ying, but those few steps felt incredibly far to him, as if he had walked for an eternity.
"Chen, you've come."
Sakura slowly raised her head, and the moment she saw Hei Chen's face, she smiled with relief, then couldn't help coughing up a mouthful of blood.
Seeing this, Kevin also came over and stood beside Hei Chen, silently watching over Sakura, not knowing what to say.
"Kevin, you're here too. That makes sense, you two are always together."
Kevin didn't speak; his trembling hands revealed his current mood, and the temperature in the room seemed to drop slightly as a result.
"Is there anything else you want to say?"
Even though he had already experienced it once, Hei Chen still couldn't bear the sorrow in his heart. He tried his best to make his voice sound normal and not let himself lose control of his emotions.
"I have one last wish. After I die, could you and Kevin bury Ling and me in my hometown? There is a cherry blossom tree there."
Hei Chen grasped Ying's blood-stained hand, pressed his forehead against the back of her hand, and solemnly promised, "I promise you."
"Chen, could you please stop Qianjie? He'll definitely seek revenge on those who hurt Ling. Please."
As Sakura spoke, she grasped one of Hei Chen's hands with both of hers, as if she had used up her last bit of strength, and held on to his hand firmly.
"it is good."
Upon receiving Hei Chen's reply, Ying Yao seemed relieved, revealing a relieved smile. She leaned against the wall, closed her eyes, and gradually fell silent.
Hei Chen remained kneeling for a long time before bursting into laughter, his voice gradually becoming manic before turning into sobs.
Hill and Black Hill, still grieving, were startled by the sudden laughter. Seeing Black Dust crying again, they stood there somewhat at a loss.
"After that, Kevin and I took Sakura back to her hometown. Guess what? It had been bombed into ruins by a nuclear bomb. There was nothing left!"
Black Dust covered half his face as he stared at Kevin, his eyes filled with barely suppressed murderous intent, his hysterical laughter echoing throughout the room. Hill looked at Black Dust in this state with some fear, wanting to say something but unsure how to begin.
Just as Hill was about to step forward, the surrounding environment slowly darkened, and she and Black Hill were transported out of the World Bubble to another location. Black Dust also returned to the Sea of Quanta.
Chapter 172 Teacher Walter, it's been a long time!
"You're back. Did you see the person?"
Kevin stared at the sudden appearance of black dust, his voice cold and indifferent. He tried to appear less aloof, but he couldn't. Not only his voice, but his emotions seemed frozen solid.
"What do you say?"
The darkness returned to calm; the past was a settled matter, unchangeable. If they remained trapped in the past, their plan would inevitably fail, something he and Chen least wanted to see.
"By the way, I'm quite curious how you located Yuno? You shouldn't have that ability."
Black Dust vaguely remembered that Kevin did not have a wide range of perception abilities, so he was surprised that Kevin was able to locate the time bubble where Yuno was.
"Yuno, is that the name of the Herrscher?"
Kevin's pensive look startled Hei Chen, who then sensed something was amiss. How did he know that Yuno was the person Luo Chen wanted to see? Wasn't he always in the Sea of Quanta?
“I sensed someone carrying your Honkai energy in that world bubble, so I thought it was the person you wanted to meet.”
"I'm done."
Kevin's answer left Black Dust speechless. Was it really such an outrageous reason? But how did his Honkai energy end up on Yuno? Something was not right.
'It should be the Gray Serpent; the Doctor still has my Honkai energy samples.'
Hei Chen roughly guessed the reason. Originally, the core on Yuno's body was meant for Luo Chen to absorb, and then find an opportunity to bring him to where Yuno was now to replenish the quantum power, so that the subsequent plan could proceed.
"Never mind, I'll bring his primary personality back first. Wait a minute."
Now that the core has already been given to Yuno, the previous plans are off the table, and the quantum powers can be retrieved later. What needs to be done now is to drag Luo Chen out so that I can go back and slack off.
After editing and rewriting the events of the past, keeping only the simplest process, Hei Chen dumped them all into Luo Chen's memory, while he retreated to the sidelines and silently watched.
"Boss Kevin, I'm back!"
Upon seeing Kevin, Luo Chen immediately greeted him. He then secretly glanced around and, not seeing Yuna, breathed a sigh of relief.
"Ah."
Kevin's indifferent attitude made Luo Chen feel a little awkward, and the two stood there quietly without saying a word. Luo Chen would glance at Kevin every now and then, and when he saw that Kevin wasn't looking at him, he would turn his gaze back.
Aren't you going to ask me anything?
"Why do you ask? I have no interest in knowing about your affairs."
Since Kevin had already said that, Luo Chen naturally wouldn't make a fool of himself. He looked around at the barrier surrounding the two of them, wondering where Yuno had gone.
"Time's almost up, we should head out."
Kevin's sudden words startled Luo Chen. He saw Kevin walk past him and stop a few steps away from the barrier. An ice sword slowly materialized in his hand, and cold, sharp Honkai energy erupted from his body. Kevin left a crack on the barrier with one strike, and then shattered the frail barrier completely with another.
The barrier shattered, turning into specks of Honkai energy that dissipated into the Sea of Quanta. Kevin sheathed his ice sword, his deep gaze fixed on the equally deep Sea of Quanta, awaiting the arrival of that man.
