[Mirror Trick: 161/1000]

Locke's eyes lit up; he had finally drawn the Mirror Trick!

It's really too difficult to level up this skill by just grinding it on your own; it's more reliable to draw duplicate skills.

Locke happily fed the witch.

Hannah suddenly asked, "I'm starting work at the Tumen Times today, Locke, what do you think I should be careful about?"

"Hannah, you just need to stay as you are. There's no need to be too nervous. You are an excellent reporter."

Locke looked up at his overly worried older sister.

"But I'm still a little nervous."

“I’ve prepared some desserts for you. Take them to the newspaper office for your colleagues; perhaps that will help ease your mood.”

Locke said with a smile.

"Locke, you're so thoughtful. What time did you get up to make this?"

Hannah said excitedly.

"Actually, I had insomnia last night, so I made some desserts."

Locke put down the pizza roll he was holding, stood up, and went to the kitchen to get dessert.

Eileen stretched out her furry cat paw, grabbed the pizza roll, and continued eating.

She knew Locke was an impatient man; he would usually stop feeding her after three bites.

Of course, she's not a cat who expects to be waited on hand and foot; most of the time she does things herself.

Occasionally having servants perform duties is merely a way to highlight the master's status.

Locke took a basket of pastries from the kitchen and handed it to Hannah.

Have a pleasant day at work.

"Locke, I can't believe you'd do so much for me. You've really grown up."

Hannah said, moved.

"Don't get so sentimental. This is just a basket of pastries he failed to make last night. I saw him wrap up the one that he succeeded."

Rebecca ruthlessly exposed Locke's deception.

Hannah paused, looking at Locke in surprise.

Locke forced an awkward but polite smile. "Hannah, believe me, this is definitely not a failure."

At most, they are just defective products.

He added inwardly.

Hannah opened the basket, looked at the exquisite pastries inside, reached out, took one out, tasted it, and found it to be delicious.

"Rebecca, please don't speak ill of Locke. This dessert is delicious."

Locke had long known that Hannah wasn't a picky eater. This batch of pastries was a bit too sweet and didn't suit Locke's taste, but it was still very appealing to most women.

Eating too much of this can get cloying, so it's perfect for Hannah to give to her colleagues.

One dessert per person means you won't notice any flaws and will only feel like you haven't had enough.

Hannah, dressed in a dark green winter dress and a brown coat, along with a brown mesh hat, twirled in front of Locke and Rebecca.

"How about it?"

Before Rebecca could utter the word "not very good," Locke spoke first, praising her.

"You look great, Hannah. When did you buy your new clothes?"

"Hehe, this wasn't bought. I went to Mrs. Amor's house a couple of days ago and bought some fabric. I asked Mrs. Amor to make it based on a fashion magazine. Isn't it indistinguishable from the original?"

Hannah took out a fashion magazine and waved it in front of Locke.

Locke gave a thumbs up, "Mrs. Amor's craftsmanship is perfect. From now on, we can have her make all our clothes."

"Of course, I already said that."

Hannah blinked. "This is much cheaper than buying it at a clothing store."

"How are Lisa and Lizzie?"

Locke asked.

"Lizzie is much better and has been discharged from the hospital. Lisa is also more lively than before. Her family received a good amount of compensation, and Lisa will be going back to school soon. Oh, by the way, she asked about you."

Hannah covered her mouth and chuckled, "Lisa blushed when she mentioned you, I guess she probably likes you."

“I’ve said it before, Lisa and Lizzie, like all the girls in Pete Street, have a crush on me.”

Locke said in a very serious tone.

“Okay, Locke, I admit you’re charming now, but not enough to make every girl in the entire Pete neighborhood have a crush on you.”

Hannah lifted her pretty face, straightened her coat collar, and prepared to go out.

She walked to the door and glanced back at Rebecca.

"Rebecca, don't follow me."

"Hmph, it's your honor that a great demon is willing to follow you, you ungrateful woman."

Rebecca snorted coldly.

"This kid."

Hannah shook her head, thinking that Rebecca must have been corrupted by Locke and always liked to talk nonsense.

"By the way, Locke, do you still remember the brothers Parker and Para?"

Parker and Para were also Locke's friends in Pete Street; they had once accompanied Locke on his search for the witch of the Rose Theater.

"I remember, what happened to them?"

Locke asked.

"They lost their jobs, the alchemy plant where they worked went bankrupt, and now they are unemployed."

Hannah sighed.

"If they come to you and ask to borrow money, you can help them out appropriately, but don't give them too much. They are all still young and need to work hard on their own."

"Okay, I remember."

As someone who had once searched for the witch with him, Locke felt it was necessary to help them.

"Locke, aren't you going to work today?"

"Yes, I'm on vacation today."

Locke escorted Hannah to the door, took the newspaper from the mailbox, and waved goodbye to her.

The Tumen Times published reports on the situation following the enactment of the Alchemy Act, and as Locke had predicted, a large number of unemployed workers appeared in the West End.

Locke took the newspaper home, glanced at Rebecca,

What are you still doing sitting here?

"I don't want to follow that boring human anymore. The stench of kindness she exudes makes me uncomfortable. Besides, haven't all the guys who coveted you been arrested? What are you still worried about?"

Rebecca only dared to lie down lazily after seeing that the black cat wasn't sitting on the sofa.

"Protect Hannah, or stay and take care of Ai. The decision is yours."

Locke let Rebecca choose for herself.

Rebecca narrowed her eyes, stood up, and scurried out the door.

Although the kind-hearted Hannah makes Rebecca feel like the air is foul, the cunning black cat is always a threat to her life. Rebecca prefers to bully the weak and dislikes direct confrontation.

"Xiao Ai, I've discovered that Rebecca is really afraid of you."

Locke looked at the black cat on his shoulder.

Eileen licked the cat's paw.

"That's because she hasn't developed the humility a servant should have. If she had learned more from you, she wouldn't be afraid of me."

Uh, why do you make it sound like I'm a slave?

Once I raise the favorability rating to 100, it's hard to say who will be more humble.

Locke imagined Eileen dressed as a maid serving him tea and water, and a smile involuntarily crept onto his face.

"What filthy things are you thinking about that make you laugh so lewdly?"

Eileen asked calmly.

"I'm thinking about wonderful things."

Locke said with a smile.

"It's hard to imagine what you mean by 'wonderful' things, after all, I don't have a dirty mind."

Eileen said sarcastically.
