Becoming a god by raising witches

The seedling turned and grew towards the east on the map, but soon it shrank back and grew towards the west, then shrank back again, finally stopping in place, ceasing to grow, and quickly withering away, losing its vitality.
"what happened?"
Locke asked in surprise.
"It failed; the ceremony was disrupted."
Boyd replied.
"Can the lost item ritual still be disrupted?"
"It's a ritual," Locke asked.
Angela answered Locke's question in Boyd's place, "Of course, any ritual can fail, which proves that the person behind it is more powerful than Boyd."
"Stronger than Boyd?"
Locke swallowed hard.
"Yes, the other party is more capable than me, so they were able to interfere with my item-finding ritual. We need to report this to the director."
Boyd picked the red dancing shoes out of the soil, dusted them off, put the soil back into the small jar, folded the map, and restored the ground to its clean state.
"Does Kosork have many strong individuals?"
Locke asked.
“You’re a naive newbie. Your question is foolish. This is the capital city, a place teeming with powerful individuals. There are not only official experts but also many wild and strange individuals lurking in the shadows. Of course, they are no match for the official experts. The Cathedral of Life and the headquarters of the Alchemy Cult are both here, and many of them are more powerful than Boyd.”
Dimo took a sip of his drink and said.
"You mean, people from the church are involved?"
Locke pressed on with the question.
Dimo shook his head. "I didn't say that. You guessed it yourself."
Locke was reminded of the 500 deaths in the West End. The most direct impact was actually to accelerate the exposure of the water pollution incident, attract the attention of the government and the people, and ultimately lead to the rectification of the alchemy plant and the enactment of a new alchemy law.
Furthermore, the witch Sheria also appeared in this incident.
Could this be related to the authorities, or perhaps to the Queen?
If the Queen is the mastermind behind it all, then it makes sense that Boyd was distracted and couldn't find the real user of the red shoes.
The Queen can mobilize not only the high-ranking members of the Cult of Life, but also the members of the Cult of Alchemy. Furthermore, Sheria is likely also one of the Queen's subordinates.
All of this was a pawn in order to start a war; those 500 West End citizens were merely pawns thrown out by the Queen.
Thinking about this, Locke couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine. Although he had never met Katerina Tumen, he had already experienced her ruthlessness.
"What are you thinking?"
The cat perched on Locke's shoulder suddenly spoke.
"No, it's nothing."
Locke wiped the sweat from his brow and replied.
Boyd thought Locke was talking to him, so he comforted him.
"It's alright. At least we retrieved the red dancing shoes and prevented them from remaining outside and threatening other people's lives. That's enough to consider our mission accomplished."
"oh, I understand now."
Locke nodded slightly.
The two left the investigator's office with the red dancing shoes and went to Director Reines's office.
"What's up?"
Renis sat on a red leather sofa, holding a cup of black tea, with delicate pastries laid out in front of her.
"Chief, we have recovered the C318 anomaly."
As Boyd spoke, he placed the box containing the red dancing shoes on Renis's desk.
"well done."
Renis opened the shoebox, looked at the red dancing shoes, and nodded slightly.
"anything else?"
"We can't find the original user of the red shoes. The quest for the shoes was disrupted. The person behind it is more capable than me."
Boyd said.
"Alright, let's leave it at that. We can't rule out the possibility that the red shoes appeared in the West District by chance. Your mission is complete."
After speaking, Renis looked at Locke.
"Have you finished reading those materials I gave you? What are your thoughts?"
“I’ve reviewed them all. These cases are too far apart, so I may not be able to complete them, but I will do my best.”
Locke bowed his head, expressing his sincerity.
A smile played at the corners of Renis's lips.
“You can ask Boyd for help; don’t force yourself.”
"Okay, thank you, Director."
"Go and do your work."
Renis waved, and Boyd and Locke turned and left.
"What case?"
Boyd asked Locke.
“I’ll bring you the documents for some old cases tomorrow. We should all go home today.”
Locke expressed his unwillingness to work overtime.
"Okay, go home and get some rest. You have family waiting for you."
Boyd waved goodbye, and the two parted ways.
Locke left the Bureau of Paranormal Investigations and walked home, buying some ingredients along the way so he could make delicious burritos.
Eileen licked her lips. "What are we having for dinner?"
"You'll see when you do it."
"No, I don't even know what to call those weird dishes you make."
"Okay, then I'll tell you in advance, it's a burrito."
"Mexico? That's a strange name. Is it a place name or a person's name?"
"you guess."
Locke raised the corners of his mouth and smiled.
Eileen raised her furry but powerful paws.
Locke replied, "A name, the name of the burrito invented by a man named Mexico."
"lie."
"Okay, it's a place name."
Why have I never heard of this place?
"Because you are not as learned as I am."
Locke shrugged.
The two, a person and a cat, bickered as they walked home.
Hannah opened the door and took the groceries Locke was carrying.
"Locke, why are you so late today?"
"Because I'm busy saving the girls at the Rose Theatre."
Locke blinked.
Hannah thought her brother was playing another lame joke on her. Even if Locke was the cook at the Sheriff's Court, earning 2 silver coins a week, he couldn't possibly afford to go to such a luxurious place as the Rose Theatre.
She put her hands on her hips and said, "It's not funny at all."
"That's because Hannah, you don't have enough of a sense of humor."
Locke said with a smile.
He stepped into the house, felt the warmth of the fireplace, took off his coat, went into the kitchen, and tied on an apron.
Where is Rebecca?
"In her room."
Hannah said.
Locke knew Rebecca very well; whenever he and Eileen weren't home, Rebecca would never listen to Hannah, let alone cook dinner.
"Have her come help in the kitchen."
