Becoming a god by raising witches

Locke asked.
"Holem".
Boyd answered.
Locke then asked a few more questions, which Boyd answered one by one.
Angela entered the library, interrupting their academic exchange.
"The chief is looking for you, Locke. Go see him."
Angela walked up behind the two of them, stood on tiptoe, and saw the book they were reading. Her mouth dropped open in surprise.
"You're actually reading banned books! These are even more forbidden books than Miss Jacqueline's photo album."
"The bureau chief wanted to see me?"
Locke turned around in confusion and looked at Angela.
"Yes, Locke showed great interest in black wizards, so I watched with him, but it wasn't anything too serious. I just wanted to broaden his horizons so he wouldn't be at a loss when he encountered cultists in the future."
Boyd answered Angela calmly.
"Locke, I thought you were only interested in witches. Are you also interested in dark wizards?"
"Of course, I would be even more grateful if you could tell me where the Dark Witch is."
"Sorry, I don't know. Don't keep the director waiting."
"Okay, wish me luck."
Locke left the library and arrived at room 302, the door to Chief Renis's office.
What could it be?
Eileen waved her cat paw, indicating that she did not want to talk at the moment.
Locke took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
"Please come in."
"Renes said."
Locke pushed open the office door and went inside.
Renis sat in a high-backed chair, with various documents on the desk in front of her. She seemed to be handling some business and did not immediately explain her intentions to Locke, who could only stand aside and wait.
"sit down."
Renis said without looking up.
Locke found a chair and sat up straight, like a corporate slave who had worked for 20 years.
Half an hour later, Renis finally spoke slowly and asked,
"How's the investigation going with those cases I gave you before?"
"Currently, we have only investigated the cases of missing children in the West District, and we have only found out the mastermind. We have not found out where the children went. As for the other cases, they are too far in time and there are too few clues. I don't know where to start investigating them."
Locke said sincerely.
The black cat sat on his shoulder, ready to fill any gaps in his life.
Renis raised her amber eyes and glanced at Locke's handsome face, taking in his expression.
"Her Majesty's travel is more important now. Since those cases can't be investigated, there's no need to deal with them."
"Renes said."
Locke breathed a sigh of relief.
Does this mean they've let go of their wariness towards me?
"it is good."
Locke nodded.
Renis waved her hand. "Go out."
After Locke left the office, he pricked up his ears to eavesdrop on Renis's conversation with her pet.
"It seems he doesn't have the ability to distinguish witches; I misunderstood him."
"How do you know he's not faking it? I always felt there was something wrong with the cat on his shoulder."
"Is it because you wanted to eat that cat?"
"Okay, I admit it, I can't help but want to eat cats when I see them."
Locke breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed that Rhaenys no longer doubted his suspicions about her being a witch.
After a busy day at the Bureau of Investigation, Locke left work on time.
Goodbye, Boyd.
Goodbye, Sig.
"Robson, see you tomorrow."
"Mrs. Freya, see you tomorrow."
"Goodbye, Angela, Dimo."
Locke said goodbye to his colleagues and left the sheriff's court. He stretched and took the fresh ingredients he got from the kitchen, planning to go home and cook a delicious meal to reward himself and Hannah, and of course, mainly to feed Eileen.
As soon as Locke stepped into the house, he smelled the delicious aroma of meat.
It couldn't possibly be Hannah cooking. Could it be Rebecca? Is she in such a good mood today? And she thoughtfully prepared dinner.
Locke guessed, and used the key to open the door.
Eileen sniffed. "Locke, we have guests."
Locke also smelled an unusual odor; why was it mixed with the smell of blood?
“Locke, you’re back. This is Alice, my colleague. She’s also a very good cook. After eating the lovingly made bento box you made for me last time, she insisted on coming to my house to see you and have a cooking competition with you.”
Hannah smiled and introduced Alice, who was wearing an apron, to Locke.
Alice had long, golden hair like wheat ears, eyes as bright as rubies, and a beautiful face with fair skin. She looked at Locke and gave him a radiant smile.
"Hello, Locke, I'm Alice, Hannah's colleague. I'm quite the gourmet."
Locke paused for a moment, then suddenly felt his heart race.
Is this the legendary flutter of the heart? Or love at first sight?
"She used a charm on you; she's a vampire."
Eileen whispered in Locke's ear.
Locke immediately became alert. Hannah's colleague was a vampire?! Why hadn't Rebecca told him?
This guy must have abandoned his post.
Hannah pulled Locke aside and whispered, "I'm sorry, I've refused so many times, but this time she came back with me. I really couldn't refuse her anymore. I really didn't tell her that there's a witch and a demon in the house. Let's finish dinner and get her to leave as soon as possible, so she doesn't get targeted."
"it is good."
Locke nodded, indicating that it was alright.
Vampires have extraordinary hearing, almost on par with Locke, so Alice could clearly hear Hannah and Locke's whispers.
Her lips twitched slightly.
She certainly wasn't just looking for a cooking competition; she was convinced that anyone who could create such delicious food must have amazing blood. She came here specifically to drink their blood—her reputation as a gourmet wasn't for nothing, and she needed to drink the purest, freshest blood possible!
This seemingly ordinary family is home to a demon and a witch?! How can this possibly work?!
Alice decided to wait for an opportunity to act, clutching her abdomen, her face instantly turning deathly pale.
"Hannah."
"Alice, what's wrong?"
Hannah looked at the weakened Alice with concern.
Alice clutched her stomach with one hand. "I'm a little sore. I'm sorry, I might have to go home early today. The cooking competition will have to wait until next time."
"Don't let her go; she can stay and work as a free cook at the manor."
Erin said.
“Miss Alice, it’s time for dinner. Even if you’re going back, you should finish dinner first. I’ll take you home. If you’re not feeling well, you can rest on the sofa for a while. Rebecca, come and greet our guest.”
Locke smiled as he looked at Alice, who was feigning illness.
Alice hid behind Hannah and whispered, "Hannah, I have menstrual cramps and want to go home."
"Alice, have dinner before you go. Don't worry, Locke will take you home tonight, and I'll make you some black tea."
Hannah gently patted Alice on the shoulder and helped her to the sofa.
Rebecca pouted and came out of the servants' quarters. She was quite dissatisfied with Locke's bossy attitude, but her eyes lit up when she saw Alice.
"We have guests at home, I'm here."
Rebecca licked her lips. Eating this vampire would restore a little bit of her power!
