Becoming a god by raising witches

Katerina glanced at the head maid, Mora Macmillan.
'Go and retrieve the Witch's Heart immediately.'
Moira Macmillan nodded.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Moira Macmillan glanced at the three female knights, who immediately understood and dispersed to search for the Witch's Heart.
Locke narrowed his eyes. The Witch's Heart?
Is this the thing that Eileen said could make her stronger? It seems that only special witches possess it.
Could it be that this out-of-control witch is also a special witch?
"Your Majesty, are you alright?"
Reid, the minister in charge of the Queen's visit to offer condolences, seemed to already see the tragic scene of his impeachment and removal from the political stage. More than the shock brought by the various strange forces just now, he was worried about his future, so he asked immediately.
"It's okay, I'm fine."
Katerina said to Reid.
“Your Majesty, that was really dangerous. I told you, this visit was really unnecessary. We could have done it in the East District.”
Conservative minister Donovan said, adding that he had already prepared a draft of his impeachment plan for minister Reid.
Unfortunately, the queen didn't seem to want to listen to him.
Katerina walked straight to Locke and handed him a square handkerchief with gold thread embroidered around its edges.
“Rock Bemon, you are injured.”
Locke then noticed that his forehead had been cut open at some point and was bleeding slowly.
"Thank you for your concern, Your Majesty."
"Locke, you did a great job."
Renis walked over and took the handkerchief directly from the Queen's hand, without giving Locke a chance to touch it.
She wiped the sweat from her brow and smiled as she spoke to Queen Katerina.
"It's so good that you're alright. Protecting you is our duty as investigators."
'How could you give Katerina's handkerchief to someone else?'
Wait, Rhaenys, where did your usual seriousness go? Did the dog eat it?
Locke was sweating.
Katerina seemed used to Renis's way of interacting with her and didn't blame her. Instead, she said to Locke,
"Come back to the palace with me, and I will have the best doctors treat you."
"Your Majesty, I'll join you too."
"Renes said excitedly."
"No, you don't need to. I see you're perfectly fine."
"What? Locke is going alone?"
"I'm not happy about it," Renis asked.
Katerina nodded.
Renis's gaze toward Locke gradually turned cold.
Locke felt a chill run down his spine; it was cold and rather frightening.
Chapter 165, The Queen's Punishment and Reward
“Your Majesty, this minor injury is nothing. My duty is to protect you and the people. Compared to me, those who are injured and unable to get up, or who have lost their limbs, deserve more pity and sympathy.”
To avoid Rhaenys's murderous intent, Locke explained his reasons for not being able to leave.
“As an investigator, I should be responsible for their safety, but I failed to do so. I must get them safely to the hospital for treatment before I can feel at ease, so I cannot leave now.”
"Yes, Locke is right, why don't we go quickly?"
Renis continued.
Locke quickly slipped away between the two witches and scurried around the square looking for the injured who needed treatment.
Those poor civilians who didn't have time to evacuate were in no better condition than Locke described, and some were even worse off, having lost both legs and still struggling on the ground.
Fortunately, tender green shoots sprouted from their wounds, purifying their bodies.
Unfortunately, the dead have become nutrients for these tender shoots, and even their bodies cannot be found, so they cannot be buried, let alone say a final goodbye to their loved ones.
"Investigate! Investigate! Find the villains who assassinated Her Majesty the Queen! Dig three feet into the ground, find them!!!"
The minister said angrily.
"Leave this matter to me, and I will certainly give Her Majesty a satisfactory answer."
Renis volunteered.
Katerina nodded slightly. "Okay, Renis, don't let me down."
"If the real culprit cannot be found, I am willing to offer Locke's head."
"Renes suddenly said."
Locke, who was still tending to the injured in the distance, perked up his ears.
Holy crap, why is it my head? Not your own head?!
"Why is it Locke's head, and not your own?"
Katerina's head maid, Mora Macmillan, asked in bewilderment. She had a good impression of Locke, the young investigator, because she was also a witch.
Renis said with a smile,
"Lock was involved in planning the route for this trip. He knows the West End very well, which is why he chose this place as the venue for the visit. But this happened. If the murderer cannot be found, he will be held responsible."
Rhaenys's argument was reasonable and well-founded, and the ministers all seconded it, finally finding a scapegoat.
Reid, the representative of the Radical Party and the minister in charge of the overall trip, was still on tenterhooks. Unlike other ministers and members of parliament, he was the main person in charge and would probably be punished like Locke.
Conservative minister Donovan glanced silently at Reed, pondering how to link Reed and Locke together to ensure Reed's complete downfall. Even so, those attending the meeting would likely be implicated as well. What bad luck! Where did this assassin come from? The newspapers had already given them ample coverage, featuring high-ranking members of the Cult of Life and the Cult of Alchemy, yet with such a strong security force, some fearless individual still dared to challenge them!
Locke was covered in sweat.
Rhaenys is so petty! All she did was show the Queen some kindness, and she was met with her merciless jealousy.
Is her 99-point favorability rating for herself just watered-down pork?
"So that's it."
Moira McMillan was suddenly unable to refute it.
Queen Katerina waved her hand.
“Planning a route is not something a mere investigator can decide. It has nothing to do with the route planning. Besides, he was the first to stop me when I was in danger, which shows his loyalty. We cannot punish such a person. Of course, I also believe in Renis’s abilities. Here’s what I’ll do: I’ll give you three days.”
'Her Majesty isn't even punishing Locke Bemon? Does that mean we won't be punished either?'
For the first time, Reed and Donovan exchanged a knowing glance and simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief.
The Queen's eyes suddenly turned cold.
"If the truth cannot be found, Minister Reed, Donovan, and everyone involved in the meeting will be dismissed. Captain Gregory George of the Royal Bodyguard will be demoted to deputy captain, and the directors of the Fifth and Sixth Security Courts will be relieved of their duties."
Upon hearing the Queen's words, everyone felt as if they had fallen into an ice cave.
Reed and Donovan were like they'd eaten dog shit; how could they possibly imagine they could get away with it?
This is Katerina Tumen! She took power at 16, launched three major reform plans at 18, and supported the Alchemy Church at 20 to counterbalance the existence of the Life Church. How could she easily let go of anyone who might have caused her harm?
The chief of the Fifth Police Division was the most bewildered person. He had been just a bystander the whole time and never expected that disaster would befall him.
'What did I do? Your Majesty, why are you treating me like this? I didn't attend the route planning meeting!!!'
"Yes!"
Renis nodded and accepted this difficult task.
Locke deeply understood the saying, "Serving a ruler is like serving a tiger."
"Are you OK?"
Locke helped up a girl whose feet had sprouted tender shoots. The girl cried and said, "Big brother, big brother, I've turned into a monster."
"It's alright, these are buds of purification, which can heal your wounds and protect them from contamination. They are a gift from the goddess."
Locke comforted the girl.
Unfortunately, these purifying buds could not restore her severed leg; they could only save her life.
"Really? Big brother, can my legs grow back?"
The girl asked innocently.
Locke shook his head. "No."
