Locke thought that if even the demon Rebecca could be affected, then no one else should be able to escape unscathed.

So he extended his right index finger and touched Rebecca's abdomen.

Rebecca was stunned. "That's it?"

"Probably?"

Locke said uncertainly.

Eileen also stared intently at Rebecca's changes.

Just as Rebecca was about to unleash a merciless laugh, something magical happened.

Her abdomen bulged at a visible rate and continued to grow larger.

"Aaaaaah, what a curse! Why is my belly so big?"

Rebecca panicked.

Fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead as the pain quietly gripped her nerves and continued to radiate.

"I...I'll kill you, Locke Bemon, you bastard!!!"

Realizing she might be pregnant, Rebecca disregards the backlash of the contract and is determined to perish together with Locke.

She, a great demon, has never suffered such humiliation.

Unfortunately, Eileen's vines had her firmly locked up.

Just as Rebecca was about to give birth to the ball of flesh, she turned into smoke and escaped back into her pipe.

"Waaaah, I'm so ashamed! So ashamed! I can't face anyone! I, the mighty demon, have suffered such humiliation! I never want to come out again!"

Rebecca, who is autistic, says that Locke will never be able to call her again.

"It looks like a success."

Locke stroked his chin. "I really am a genius in the field of magic."

Eileen nodded in agreement; even she had never seen such magical power before.

“Logically, Rebecca is stronger than you, so your kind of blessing magic shouldn’t have worked on her, but she did, which means you do have some unknown talent.”

"Thank goodness, let's go. If we're any later, we won't make it to Antonia's grave."

Locke said modestly.

The man and the cat left the cemetery and boarded a steam train, heading to Matt County, near Kossock.

Matt County is a bustling city, second only to Kossock. It is an agricultural area and is known as the breadbasket of Tumen. Vast fields of golden wheat are growing wildly out of season, thanks to the blessing of the Church of Life, which allows crops to bear fruit even in winter.

In order to gain an advantage in the agricultural field, the alchemists invented hybrid wheat, which allowed wheat to be harvested all year round.

The only downside is that consuming too much of this genetically modified wheat can easily lead to birth defects in offspring.

In comparison, the blessings offered by the Life Church are more popular.

Eighty percent of the businesses in Mattshire belong to the same person: the Baker family, the grain tycoons.

But now, 60% of this area belongs to Her Majesty Queen Katerina.

The Baker family's business has shrunk significantly, but this does not change the fact that Lucy is still a very wealthy woman.

Locke gazed at the beautiful scenery outside the steam train, lost in thought.

Eileen had already fallen asleep in his arms.

Locke stroked the black cat's soft, smooth fur and sighed, "What a sleepy and gluttonous creature."

After disembarking from the steam train, Locke found the dilapidated Earl's mansion on the outskirts of Matt County.

Antonia is buried in this count's mansion.

Chapter 184, The Remaining Historical Illusion

"This used to be the manor of Count Sebastião, but because the weather here was always abnormal and often surrounded by thunderstorms, it was abandoned by Count Sebastião and became a deserted manor. After Count Sebastião died, his eldest son inherited the title of count and was sent by the Queen to the coastal county, so this place was even more neglected."

"Of course, even so, civilians and homeless people are still not allowed to enter here."

"Even an abandoned manor still bears the mark of nobility. Even if it becomes a living cemetery, it would not be generous enough to let homeless people live there. This is the reality of this era."

Locke expressed his feelings and walked into the manor with Eileen.

This estate is twice the size of Reindeer Estate, with four-fifths of the territory already covered by weeds and vegetation, leaving only the magnificent but dilapidated main building.

"Now it seems that the reason for the abnormal weather here may be because Antonia's body is buried underground."

Locke said.

Eileen nodded slightly. "How did you know this was Count Sebastião's residence?"

“I read a book called ‘The Autobiography of Count Sebastião’, which describes a manor where the count fell in love with his third mistress and had three illegitimate daughters. Later, because the mistress failed to give him a son and had an affair with a servant, she was eventually sent to the guillotine.”

Locke spoke eloquently, revealing his fondness for reading a wide variety of books, one of the few interests he had since coming into this world.

"That's just the surface. In reality, Count Sebastião's third mistress was a vampire. Those three illegitimate daughters were not born to her, but to her maid. The one who was later sent to the guillotine was also the mistress's maid. Count Sebastião did many irrational things because he was hypnotized by the vampire. In the end, he was taken away by the Church of Life and imprisoned until he died of old age. This book was also written by that vampire."

Eileen revealed the truth; although she didn't like reading, she knew a great deal about noble matters.

"So that's how it is. Then why didn't they discover that the Weather Witch Antonia was buried underground? Didn't the unusual weather arouse their suspicion?"

"The wheat fields around here grow so well because the Church of Life used a secret technique for rampant growth. These techniques also cause abnormal weather in the surrounding area, so the abnormality at the Earl's mansion is within the normal range and will not arouse suspicion."

Eileen explained,

"Moreover, Antonia is a demigod. If her body were buried here, it should have been excavated by the church long ago, unless she was buried very deep and her body was protected by a restrictive spell."

Eileen leaped off Locke's shoulder and landed on the soft fallen leaves.

She lay prone on the ground, carefully smelling the underground environment, then shook her head.

"Even my sense of smell can't detect the witch's scent, so it's normal that the church can't find it either, unless the archbishop comes here to inspect in person."

"Well, a busy man like the archbishop certainly wouldn't come to inspect a place like this."

Locke said.

Eileen transformed from a black cat into a young girl, still wearing the white dress Locke had given her, her bare, smooth white feet exposed.

She pressed her hand to the floor, and vines sprouted from her hand, extending directly into the ground.

"Let me find her location."

The vines spread underground, extending into many segments, like the roots of a tree. Centered on Eileen's location, they extended their radius underground, forming a giant inverted cone as they explored the underground world.

Locke watched curiously from the side, but because he didn't have X-ray vision, he couldn't see what Eileen was doing underground.

So, before Eileen had any results, he chose to enter the Earl's mansion alone to see if there were any hidden secrets inside.

I took a stroll around the Count's mansion and saw portraits of Count Sebastião and his family members. Their appearances could only be described as exquisite; no wonder they were fascinated by vampires.

Count Sebastião was probably Katerina's cousin; he also had silver hair.

Unfortunately, he was imprisoned by the Church of Life until his death.

Locke sighed as he walked through the hall, which was covered in cobwebs and vines, and entered what appeared to be the Earl's room.

This room seemed out of place compared to the rest of the room, as it was spotless, as if someone had cleaned it.

When Locke entered the room, he could still hear laughter and cheerful chatter inside.

The walls were adorned with various exquisite paintings, and the dome was adorned with magnificent candelabra and crystal chandeliers. Red velvet curtains inlaid with gold thread swayed in the breeze, and on the bed, a handsome man was playing with a beautiful woman.

Their laughter carried a sweet quality, just like that of a couple deeply in love.

Beside the two were elegantly dressed maids, who all appeared to be the mistress's maids.

They all seemed to hear Locke's footsteps, and turned around in unison to look at him.

Locke's heart skipped a beat.

Holy crap, this is haunted! And it's this whole bunch of them?

He remembered the man; he was Count Sebastião, because he had just seen his portrait and it left a deep impression on him.

The woman beside him was likely his third mistress, the vampire.

These maids were very likely the women who bore him three children and were eventually sent to the guillotine.

Locke instinctively wanted to activate the [Undead Fire] skill, and a small, pale blue orb of light appeared on his finger.

But he soon realized that they didn't seem to be looking at him.

From where he stood, a shadow stepped out; it was a woman dressed in a nun's habit.

She held a copy of the Code of Saint Anne in her hand, wore a green leaf pendant of the Church of Life around her neck, and looked at Count Sebastião with compassion in her eyes.

“Count Sebastião, you have violated the sixth and eighteenth commandments of the Law of Life: you must not associate with the immortals who disregard life, nor with men of the same sex.”

The goddess of life discriminates against the immortals and homosexuals because the goddess's authority is over life and procreation, both of which happen to contradict the goddess's will, and thus were written into the code.

Saint Anne was the first generation of the goddess's chosen one. It was she who conveyed the goddess's will and wrote the Code of Law. The Code of Saint Anne and the Book of Life are classic works of the Life Church and are considered the Bible by believers.

However, the code emphasizes more about what should not be done, similar to legal norms.

Since they are not seeing themselves, but this nun, then this video is most likely an illusion, right?
