Becoming a god by raising witches

After Sister Sinai left, Angela smiled meaningfully and extended her hand. "Please, Locke, follow the guidance of knowledge and wisdom, and witness Dimo's growth together."
Locke entered the dungeon where Dimer was imprisoned.
Dimo's body had undergone a mutation, with flesh and skin intertwined, making his once handsome features unrecognizable, closer to a monster that was impossible to look at. Countless vines grew from this flesh, some penetrating deep into the ground, others reaching into the sky, suspending his body in mid-air, completely merging with one of the prison walls. The whole scene was chilling; its mere existence was a desecration.
These vines had already broken through the other cells, piercing the bodies of other imprisoned heretics from the bottom up, turning them into nourishment.
These heretics made no sound, and wore eerie, satisfied smiles on their faces.
"Is this what you call growth?"
Locke's eyes were filled with inexplicable anger.
Angela, however, still had a smile on her face.
"How beautiful! This is the fusion of life, the symphony of life, and the transformation of life. Only knowledge and wisdom can create such a miracle. The only flaw is that it is not perfect. Son of God No. 9, you don't need to worry. You should be more perfect than him."
“Angela, you look like a madwoman right now.”
That's because you haven't seen his power yet.
Angela approached Dimo and said gently, "Dimo, I am Angela. Open your eyes."
Dimo, now completely transformed into a monster, opened his eyes and stared at Angela with the same crazed look.
“Angela, you’ve arrived. I’m sorry, but for the sake of the Holy Church, I must see how you’ve grown.”
“It’s alright, Dimo, we are all devout believers, and we are all willing to die for our faith.”
Angela said earnestly.
"Angela, I love you like a father loves his daughter. I love you deeply and hope you will always remember that."
The vines on Dimo's back instantly pierced through the cell door, rushed to Angela's side, and pierced through Angela's body.
"So let's be together forever. I've known all along that I was your test subject, Angela, but I still can't suppress my love for you."
"Dimo, you have truly surprised me. I accept your passionate feelings, so let you become my strength."
Angela's body rushed straight towards Dimo, who had turned into a monster, and transformed into countless blue butterflies.
The butterfly enveloped the monster, and the two were devouring and merging with each other.
Locke felt a chill run down his spine; he had never felt so nauseous before. His stomach churned, and he witnessed what true madness was.
In the end, Angela and Dimo merged completely.
Angela's head grew from the belly of the giant monster tree, Dimo.
Angela looked at Locke. "Hi, Locke, are you used to how I look now?"
"I'm not used to it, you make me want to vomit."
Locke was outspoken.
"I'm sorry, this is certainly not ladylike, but it possesses absolute power. I've already realized that I can completely drain the Tree of Life. Do you know what that means?"
Angela asked.
"It means you're about to be discovered."
Locke said.
"No, it means that Dimo and I will become the new God of Life."
A mocking expression appeared on Angela's face.
"This means that the Goddess of Life had already perished in the war of the gods, but the Cult of Life has been deceiving its followers all along."
"Blasphemy! Utter blasphemy! You monster, you're delusional!"
Cardinal Nob Stott had appeared in the dungeon at some point, and he led a group of strange beings into the cells.
Sieg was among them, and he anxiously called out to Locke.
"Back off quickly, Locke! We are no match for this monster. Let the bishops handle this."
Locke nodded, tentatively took a few steps back, and breathed a sigh of relief when he found that Cardinal Nob Stott did not stop him.
It seems the bishops didn't hear his and Angela's complete conversation, and his identity secret is temporarily safe.
The high-ranking members of the Life Cult began to target the monster formed by the fusion of Angela and Dimo.
On Dimo's back, the vines seemed to come alive, attacking the group with lightning speed. Many cultists were pierced through and instantly lost their ability to resist, becoming nourishment for the monster.
Dimo opened his mouth and slowly spoke.
“People who believe in life, I am the one you should truly follow. You should not rebel against me or disrespect me.”
The voice seemed to possess a magical power, causing all the believers who truly believed in the Goddess of Life to experience hallucinations.
Even Sieg's body moved forward uncontrollably, wanting to get closer to the strange tree.
Locke promptly woke up Sieg, "Let's go, this isn't a place for rookies like us. Let's go get reinforcements."
Sieg snapped out of his daze, noticed the strange behavior of those around him, and without hesitation followed Locke out of the dungeon.
The emerald green vines continued to follow them, as if they didn't want to let any living being still breathing go.
"What the hell is this thing? Is it a mutated Tree of Life?"
Sieg asked.
"I don't know either, but be careful not to get entangled in these vines. I just saw many people being absorbed by them."
Locke said.
Those who were trapped in the hallucination had been entangled by vines and turned into new paint. Their bodies were visibly withering, but their faces wore satisfied smiles, as if they had started a new life.
Sieg arrived on the ground in a disheveled state and rushed towards the real Tree of Life.
"Wait, we're going the wrong way."
"Shouldn't we go to the elders for help?"
Sieg asked.
“The cardinals are all down below. They will find a way to plead with the higher-ups in the church themselves. We need to go outside and call for reinforcements, such as Queen Katerina and Director Renes.”
Locke said.
Sieg suspected Locke was trying to escape, which suited his own thinking perfectly.
He nodded emphatically. "Yes, we need to report this to the Bureau of Investigation."
"Let's go."
Locke and Sieg rushed out of the church, and the believers outside had to be dispersed in time, otherwise they would all become nourishment for the strange tree.
As soon as the two arrived at the gate, vines sprouted from the ground and instantly blocked the gate.
"Damn it."
Locke and Sieg attacked the vines, but unfortunately, their spells, which belonged to the life system, had no effect on the vines.
Sig is a follower of the Church of Life. Whether it is his vine sword or his Grui form, his power comes from the Goddess of Life, so he is naturally restrained.
When his vine sword pierced through, it was immediately entangled by the thick vines, and the sword blade merged directly into the vine's body.
Sieg released his grip in time, thus escaping his fate of being absorbed.
The ring on his hand also lost its function, unable to change the path of the vine attack.
If he hadn't been a seasoned veteran, he would most likely have been captured in a short time.
But that's not the worst of it. The worst thing is that many blue butterflies flew out from underground.
These butterflies are spreading pollen from the strange tree.
Anyone who comes into contact with this pollen will sprout green shoots from their body. These shoots quickly turn into vines that wrap around them, forming round cicada pupae that fall onto the ceiling, waiting to be devoured by the strange tree.
"Help, ah—"
Screams echoed throughout the first floor of the church, and many nuns without supernatural abilities were turned into cicada pupae.
Sister Sinai and Lacus rushed out with Louisa.
Locke used his long hair to catch them in time, but this was not a solution. If the exit was blocked, everyone would be left to die.
Unless the higher oddities give up on healing the Tree of Life.
But to abandon the Tree of Life is to make them abandon their faith.
"How to do?"
Sieg looked at Locke.
Locke split into two clones, and the two of them used [Undead Fire] together to unleash a huge, ghostly blue fireball.
The fireball ignited the vines. The undead fire seemed to have a restraining effect on them; with a hissing and popping sound, the vines retreated.
Locke, Sieg, and the others also took the opportunity to rush out.
Lux finally had a chance to ask Locke, "What exactly happened?"
"Locke."
Louisa threw herself into Locke's arms, crying, but she quickly realized something was wrong and tilted her head to look at the other Locke, "Which one of you is Locke?"
