Hannah had a vague sense of unease.

Locke heard the Abbass and Mrs. Abbas opening their doors while cursing, he heard Mrs. Amor opening her door, and he heard Uncle Dan and the neighbor opening their doors at the same time.

Then, as if 90% of the sound had been swallowed up by a black hole, the apartment returned to silence.

Only the thumping sound remained in front of Locke and Hannah's house, exceptionally clear in the darkness.

It seemed that the sound would never stop unless the door was opened.

"what--"

A shrill, piercing sound rang out from the doorway.

Upon hearing the sound, Hannah fainted instantly, her body arching backward, but Locke caught her in time.

Locke also felt dizzy. Having probably experienced two extraordinary battles, he had developed a certain immunity to the sound and did not collapse to the ground like Hannah.

He placed Hannah on the sofa, so that if they encountered any special circumstances and couldn't win, he could pick her up and run away.

Locke frowned and took out the Shadow Candle and the Mirror.

He doesn't have many means of attacking or defending himself right now.

Locke activated [Long Hair Art], and his hair instantly grew longer. He moved the apartment's dining table, charcoal brazier, wardrobe, bookshelf, and all heavy items, piling them up at the doorway and blocking it completely.

He had a feeling that if he opened the door, he would become like the other neighbors and completely lose his voice.

There are two possibilities for losing one's voice: the first is death, and the second is being taken away.

Neither of these outcomes was the result Locke desired.

Lisa's cries for help grew increasingly shrill, turning from sorrow into anger.

"Why won't you open the door? Why won't you save me? Open the door and save me! I know you're inside."

Locke's back was soaked with sweat, and his palms were covered in cold sweat.

I never expected to encounter two strange events today, both of which happened when Miss Witch Irene wasn't around.

I used to think I had become lucky, but now I wonder if it was actually a blessing or a curse?

bang bang bang-

The door was hit and became deformed.

Locke was absolutely certain that the thing at the door was not Lisa; Lisa couldn't possibly have that much strength.

The things piled up at the doorway began to tremble, as if they were experiencing an earthquake.

Five minutes later, the banging on the door stopped, as did the crying and pleas for help.

Locke heard the sound of footsteps fading away.

He breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed the thing at the door had given up.

However, the next second, accompanied by a deafening roar.

The wall with the door was completely smashed, and stones and gravel flew everywhere, hitting the wardrobe and other furniture, turning a corner of the apartment into ruins.

Locke's heart leaped into his throat as he stared at the empty corridor before him.

Thump, thump, thump—the sound of my heart pounding filled my brain.

Locke forced himself to calm down and checked the situation at the door.

There was no one there at all. What's going on?

Suddenly, Lisa appeared.

Her pale, bloodless skin was covered with bulging veins, making her once pretty face look incredibly ferocious. Her eyes were now just whites, without pupils, staring straight at Locke.

She was also holding a hospital medical report in her hands.

"Why didn't you save me? Why didn't you open the door? You cold-blooded bystanders, you all deserve to die, you all deserve to die, you all deserve to die!"

Lisa let out a piercing scream, a sound that seemed to pierce the soul.

Locke's eyes, nostrils, and ears began to bleed, and it felt as if someone was stirring his brain with an iron rod. He clutched his head and fell to his knees.

Locke gritted his teeth and painstakingly lit the Shadow Candle. In the dark green flame, shadowy figures darted out of the fire and rushed toward Lisa.

Almost instantly, Lisa stopped speaking, and Locke's ears were finally saved, given a brief respite.

Locke got up from the ground, and the shadows had already surrounded Lisa.

However, Lisa's current state was very strange. The shadows tore at her skin and ripped at her flesh, but she felt no pain at all. She took a step and slowly approached Locke.

With each step she took forward, Locke felt his life bar above his head shrink a little.

Locke's long hair attacked her again, transforming into two sharp blades that tried to pierce Lisa's body.

But Lisa nimbly dodged it; she reached out and grabbed Locke's long hair.

They used their superhuman strength to rip Locke's hair out, causing Locke to scream in pain.

Fortunately, I have the "art of long hair," so I won't go bald.

Locke's hair quickly grew back, but this time he dared not use it to attack.

Lisa had already walked up to Locke, opened her blood-red maw, and was about to devour him whole.

Locke dodged into the mirror in time, avoiding Lisa's fatal bite.

Lisa didn't eat a bite of Locke's food, seemingly unwilling to give up. She looked at Hannah on the sofa.

Oh no! I can't bring Hannah into the mirror right now!

Locke had no choice but to jump out of the mirror again and use his long hair to backstab Lisa.

Unfortunately, it failed again this time.

Locke could only use his long hair to wrap Hannah up, drag her to his side, pick her up, and rush towards the window.

If you can't win, run away!

Just as Locke jumped out of the window, Hannah in his arms slowly opened her eyes. Her brown hair gradually turned light gold, her skin became whiter and brighter, and her facial features also changed.

She transformed into—Sheria.

Chapter 63, Showing the Extinction, Rapunzel!

Sheria smirked, reached out and grabbed Locke by the neck.

Almost at the same moment, Locke realized that this was not the real world, but a dream!

Everything around them began to collapse: Old Tom's building, the shabby apartment, and Sheria, her eyes filled with resentment, all turned into light and shadow and vanished.

Locke opened his eyes, panting heavily, greedily inhaling the fresh air.

Memories flooded back like a tidal wave, threatening to engulf him completely, making the dream he had just experienced feel incredibly real. He touched his neck, where he even saw the scratch marks left by Sheria.

If he doesn't wake up in time, he will most likely die.

He suddenly had this terrible thought, and his heart started beating faster.

"Friend, you don't look too well."

Sig's voice reached Locke's ears.

Locke turned around and looked at Sieg, who was still dressed in tattered clothes and had a bruised and swollen face.

The carriage made a clattering sound as it traversed the uneven ground.

"You must be too tired to fall asleep in such a bumpy carriage. Please forgive me for not waking you up soon. We still have about half an hour before we reach our destination."

Sieg shrugged and said.

"Does anyone get killed in their dreams?"

Locke looked at Sieg with a solemn expression.

Sieg paused for a moment, then immediately pulled Locke's hand, rolled up his sleeve, and a black mark appeared on his wrist without him noticing.

"Friend, did you just have a terrible nightmare?"

"Yes."

"Oh no, you're cursed! That damned witch must have made a pact with a demon in the dream realm to be able to curse you before she dies. Don't sleep during this time, hold on until you see the director. The director should have a way to remove this curse."

Sieg said with some self-reproach, recalling how Sheria had said she would curse Locke before she died. At the time, he thought it was just a witch's dying words, but who knew it would be true.

"Is this a mark of a curse?"

Locke looked at the black mark on his wrist, which resembled a blurry dark cloud.

He then took out the small mirror he always carried to save his life. Through the mirror, he saw the life bar above his head and, sure enough, he had become a short-lived person again.

What a gift of fate! Bullshit!

Fate just likes to play tricks on me, doesn't it? My 50-year lifespan has been shortened to 24 hours.

With such a deadly attribute as [Witch Affinity], how has Eileen survived until now?!

Oh, she's a witch, never mind.

"Locke, don't worry. As long as you beg the chief for help, you'll be saved. Just promise not to fall asleep from now on."
