As she spoke, Bai Qiuwu curled the corners of her lips and reached out to open the box. A small black kitten with blue eyes poked its head out, meowing and scratching its head with its paw.

Bai Ziling's attention was drawn to it. She raised her eyebrows slightly, sat closer, and gently rubbed its head.

“Cute…” she said softly.

Ke Yongzhu took a sip of cola, glanced at Bai Ziling's profile, and quickly looked away, muttering, "Stray cats are all very dirty."

"Yes, yes, yes, you, this domesticated dragon, are more noble than a stray cat." Ke Mingye thought to himself.

“It’s not dirty. I just took it to the pet store for a bath before bringing it back.” Bai Qiuwu shook her head.

“Exactly, elementary school kids just lie through their teeth. I think you’re the dirty one.” Bai Zini said, rolling her eyes at Ke Yongzhu.

Ke Yongzhu said, "Tch."

"Sis, you're not going to keep it as a pet, are you?"

Ke Mingye was silent for a moment, then looked up at Bai Qiuwu and asked.

"It depends on the situation," Bai Qiuwu said. "My mom and dad will be back in a few days, so we can let it stay at our house for the time being and feed it. If my parents don't agree then, I'll take it to a stray cat rescue center."

"There are so many stray cats on the street, why keep it?" Ke Mingye asked tentatively.

"Hmm... I always felt like we were destined to meet the moment I saw it." Bai Qiuwu smiled, then paused. "It's very likable, isn't it?"

"Oh, oh." Ke Mingye basically confirmed that Bai Qiuwu was bewitched by the cat's supernatural abilities. "I think it's fine, let's keep it. I'm going to sleep now. I hope your cat won't make strange noises in the middle of the night."

As he spoke, he yawned, tears welling in his eyes, and shuffled up the stairs.

She could hear the people behind her discussing the cat's name. Bai Zini gave a few suggestions, but Bai Qiuwu said that she had already chosen a name for it: "Youlizi".

To be honest, Ke Mingye was already regretting not acquiring the E-rank skill—"Animal Communication." If he had that skill, he could communicate with this B-rank cat, which might have given him an extra helper at home. Of course, this was just hindsight; he couldn't have foreseen the current situation back then…

With a mutant cat in the house, even if Dad wouldn't agree, Mom, that alien research fanatic, would very likely keep the cat as a research subject.

Since Mom has agreed, Dad will most likely have to compromise even if he doesn't agree, so... it's basically confirmed that the cat will be living in the house.

To be honest, this cat's abilities only work on people with superpowers, and the only person with superpowers in the family is the father, so it's not that dangerous, right?

"Right, if I let it replicate Dad's superpower, I can study what other effects Dad's superpower has besides creating fake crows," Ke Mingye thought. "But what if this cat unleashes Dad's superpower at home? If he sees this cat creating a bunch of crows, wouldn't he just crush it to pieces?"

Sure, sure, another time bomb has been added to our house. Our family is really getting better and better.

As Ke Mingye pondered this, he washed up in front of the bathroom mirror, then lay back down on the bed and set a system alarm.

Tomorrow is the day the Ninja Clan will attack, and Ke Youqing and Bai Wenna are not at home yet.

However, with his older sister and Bai Ziling protecting the elementary school student, and the elementary school student himself being an A+ level superhuman, even if the Ninja Clan had some special methods for dealing with dragons, they wouldn't be able to defeat it so quickly.

All we need to do is stall until our older brother comes to our rescue. Tomorrow, we need to make sure he's not too far away from us.

As for the second brother... we still don't know what he will choose.

In short, conserve your energy and go to bed early.

Thinking this, Ke Mingye closed his eyelids and drifted off into a deep sleep.

Right now, at the coffee shop on 7th Street in the old Jingmai neighborhood.

Two figures sat on white wooden chairs outside the building, one drinking alcohol and the other coffee. They chatted idly, bathed in the warm light emanating from inside, amidst the pleasant chirping of cicadas.

"Aren't you afraid you won't be able to sleep if you drink coffee so late at night?" Ke Xiaomo asked.

“I’m more afraid of falling asleep,” Ke Yinzhi said.

"why?"

Ke Yinzhi took a sip of coffee, seemingly lost in thought: "Hmm... I guess it's because you're more likely to dream when you're asleep." He shrugged. "I hate dreaming; it gives me a feeling of things slipping out of my control."

“You had control freak tendencies since you were a child, and you haven’t changed. Human strength is limited, and not everything can be controlled by oneself.” Ke Xiaomo paused. “You really should come here to cultivate yourself; it will benefit your mind and body.”

"More importantly, what about the dragon?" Ke Yinzhi chuckled. "It's already the night before the operation begins, and the Ninja Sect still hasn't told you the location of the Calamity Dragon?"

“I don’t know.” Ke Xiaomo shook her head. “It’s like they’re deliberately keeping me in the dark.”

"Perhaps they feel they don't need you and want you to have a proper vacation?"

"hope so."

"Let's go back, we can keep an eye on those kids while they sleep."

"Ah."

Chapter 107 Major Event 1: The Dragon Ninja War (Part 1)

July 4th, 10 AM, in Bai Ke's living room.

Sunlight streamed through the French windows, gently stirring the curtains along with the morning breeze, casting a dappled beam of light across the floor.

The black cat lay lazily on the carpet by the window, its eyes half-closed, as if it were lying in a bathtub filled with water, basking in the sunlight at just the right temperature.

Several cartoon animal cushions were scattered haphazardly on the light brown sofa, and a few magazines and the remote control lay quietly on the TV cabinet.

The living room was so quiet you could almost hear the ticking of the clock, with the occasional sound of a horn or birdsong squeezing into the room through the gaps in the curtains.

Just then, seeing Bai Qiuwu packing her backpack, Bai Zini hurried over to her, pacing back and forth as she said, "Sister, please take this with you."

After saying that, she handed a folding umbrella to Bai Qiuwu, gesturing for her to put it in her schoolbag.

Bai Qiuwu took the umbrella and asked knowingly, "Why would you bring an umbrella in this kind of weather?"

“This is a sun umbrella. I don’t want to be tanned after the holidays and be laughed at by my classmates when I go to school,” Bai Zini replied.

"Come on, we're here to have fun in the mall, not to go shopping. Why are we going to be in the sun?" Ke Mingye said casually as he sat on the sofa.

He was wearing a T-shirt and casual shorts today, and looked very relaxed.

Bai Zini glared at him: "Won't it take time to walk there?"

“Then I’ll definitely take the subway. Who’s going to go with you?” Ke Mingye said.

Bai Zini stood in front of the full-length mirror in the living room, tying her hair into a high ponytail as she spoke, "What if it rains later?"

"If it rains in this weather, I might as well eat shit."

As Ke Mingye spoke, he glanced out the window out of the corner of his eye. The sky was clear and blue, with undulating clouds stretching all the way to the azure horizon.

Bai Zini rolled her eyes at him, then looked down at her phone and searched the weather forecast on Baidu. She then slammed the screen back up to face him and said, "The weather forecast says it might actually rain later. What do you think, bro?"

Bai Qiuwu put the folding umbrella into her backpack and interrupted the argument that was about to begin between the two.

"Okay, I've brought you an umbrella. Just ask me for it when you need it."

"Good sister, I love you." Bai Zini smiled at her.

Bai Ziling put on sunglasses and a sun hat, tidied her messy white hair in front of the mirror, smoothed out the wrinkles on her white dress, and then turned to look at Ke Xiaomo who was coming down from upstairs.

"Are you all ready?" Ke Xiaomo asked, arms crossed.

"Where is my older brother?" Bai Ziling asked.

Ke Xiaomo replied helplessly, "He just finished showering and is drying his hair. He'll be downstairs soon."

"If you don't understand, just ask. What kind of American schedule is this, bro? What Chinese person showers in the morning?"

Ke Mingye said disdainfully, thinking to himself that Ke Yinzhi had quite a few habits left over from his missions abroad.

"He's probably preparing for studying abroad," Ke Yongzhu said. He was wearing a blue jumpsuit today and looked like he wasn't fully asleep, leaning against the sofa and taking a nap with his eyes closed.

Ke Xiaomo said calmly, "You know what, with his grades, he really might be able to study abroad as an international student."

"Talking about me?"

Ke Yinzhi spoke as he walked down the stairs. He was still wearing a long black coat, his shoulder-length black hair was messily draped behind his head, and he had a black earring in his right ear.

Earrings? Could these be the communication device between the older brother and the control bureau?

Ke Mingye asked, "Brother, you got your ears pierced?"

"I've always had them, I just don't wear earrings much," Ke Yinzhi said with a smile.

Ke Xiaomo put her arm around Ke Mingye's shoulder and told him, "Don't be like your older brother, study hard."

"How could I possibly learn from you two freaks? During your high school years, I saw you out partying every day, and yet your grades were still so good. You were like ghosts." Ke Mingye shrugged.

Bai Qiuwu looked up at the two of them and chimed in, "I also want to know how they did it. They don't help me with my homework at home, otherwise would I need to go to summer tutoring classes?"

"Your grades are already good enough, why do you need us to tutor you?"

As Ke Xiaomo spoke, she walked to the sofa and ruffled Yongzhu's hair with her hand: "Yongzhu, wake up, it's time to go out and play."

Ke Yongzhu slowly opened her eyelids, rubbed the corners of her eyes, and listlessly got up from the sofa: "So annoying, couldn't you have set the time for the afternoon?"

"I might have something to do this afternoon," Ke Xiaomo replied.

“I also happen to have a date.” Ke Yinzhi smiled and put her hand on Ke Xiaomo’s shoulder.

"It's too hot in the afternoon, I hate the sunlight," Bai Ziling said softly.

Hearing what the first two people said, Ke Yongzhu originally wanted to refute them, but when he heard Bai Ziling say the same thing, he could only purse his lips and say, "Okay then."

After saying that, he walked to the entrance hall, turned the doorknob, and opened the door. "Come on, let's go see a movie."
