"Don't worry!" Dumbledore chuckled and waved his hand helplessly.
This composite magic isn't particularly complex; its main appeal lies in its creativity, cleverly combining the advantages of two different types of magic.
Dumbledore became interested and easily replicated the spell by following Snape's casting motions.
He closed his eyes and tried to experience the magic again, but he still couldn't understand why such a life magic could suppress the Obscurus.
However, he knew someone who also had a deep understanding of Mo Mo Ran, and he planned to write to him later to ask for his advice.
Snape, looking impatient, asked, "Now that Voldemort has his eye on Vizzet, will you tell him about it?"
Dumbledore murmured and said softly, "I'm thinking about it, considering how much I should tell him."
“Hiding parts is your usual tactic, not surprising,” Snape scoffed. “My suggestion is, you might as well tell the whole story.”
"You actually trust him that much?" Dumbledore's tone was tinged with surprise. "That's quite unexpected."
Snape pursed his lips, said nothing more, and limped away.
-------------------------------------
"Vizet, take this."
In the corridor, Flitwick shoved something into Vizet's hand—a large bag of "Honey Duke's finest chocolates."
"Eat up, eat up!" Flitwick encouraged. "You must be starving since you didn't come to the Halloween dinner. Have some chocolate to tide you over."
Ravenclaw students love their Headmaster not only because Charms class is relaxed and fun, but also because Flitwick has a great personality.
He always carries various snacks with him, and when he encounters a Ravenclaw who is unhappy, he will kindly slip him a bag of snacks and offer a word of encouragement.
According to Penelope, if you're in a bad mood, you can go to Flitwick's office and see him wave his wand and direct your heart to dance a cowboy dance for your enjoyment.
"Honey Duke's Best Chocolate" truly lives up to its name, tasting far superior to Chocolate Frog, with a smoother, more silky texture and a richer, sweeter flavor.
After finishing the two chocolates, Vizet felt warm both inside and out.
Flitwick led Vizet into a corridor, at the end of which stood a huge statue of a gargoyle with a fierce expression.
The gargoyle has a ferocious expression, spreads its wings and sits on a stone seat, looking so lifelike that it seems it could come to life at any moment.
Flitwick shouted the command, "Jelly Slug!"
The crouching gargoyle statue seemed to come alive, stretching out its body and retracting its large, bat-like wings, before nimbly leaping to the side.
Behind the gargoyle statue, there was a brightly lit passageway, with a spiral staircase slowly ascending.
The feeling of riding the spiral staircase was very familiar to Vizette, just like the escalator in her previous life—smooth and stable, and most importantly, she didn't have to climb the stairs herself.
……
Because of Flitwick's popularity and the practicality of his spells, he was the most sought-after student.
During the time spent riding the spiral staircase, Vizette seized the opportunity to ask many questions about the spell.
Just as Wizette had thought, none of the professors he knew were simple; they were all highly learned and could easily answer his questions.
"Hand gestures, tone of voice, and relaxation—remember these three points when practicing spells, and you'll achieve twice the results with half the effort," Flitwick said animatedly, entering a teaching mode.
"Beginners especially need to keep these three points in mind. In particular, gestures and tone of voice will affect the final magical effect. Laying a good foundation will allow you to master more advanced magical techniques."
"More advanced magical techniques?" Vizet blinked, then asked curiously, "Dean, could you please give me an example?"
“Such as wandless spellcasting and silent spellcasting, these are advanced magical techniques.” Flitwick raised his hand and extended three long fingers. “I’ll give a simple demonstration.”
He snapped his fingers, and a stream of clear spring water gushed from his fingertips.
He raised his other hand, extended his slender fingers, and gently stroked the water, instantly freezing it into flower-shaped ice blocks.
Flitwick handed over the ice flower, smiling as he said, "The Water-Making Spell combined with the Ice Spell, through silent and staff-less casting, can achieve this effect."
"As the name suggests, silent spellcasting is the ability to produce the effects that magic should have without making a sound or chanting a spell loudly."
Vizette nodded and took out his notebook to start taking notes.
Even without delving into the so-called "not making a sound," simply not chanting a mantra loudly is actually a difficult task.
Based on the magic he is currently familiar with, only by ensuring that his tone of voice is varied and rhythmic can the magic possess sufficient power.
“There’s no harm in recording it, but laying a solid foundation is the most important thing.” Flitwick smiled with satisfaction.
"Of course... I trust you completely; your tone and pronunciation are both excellent."
What he admired most about Wizette was this: not only was her foundation solid, but she was also always ready to learn.
"Once you pass the OWL exam, I will guide you through practicing this skill when you reach sixth grade."
Vizette looked up. "Dean, is it possible to learn wandless spellcasting in the sixth year?"
Flitwick shook his head. "Hogwarts doesn't teach this skill. European wizards have been using wands for a long time, so it's much more difficult for them to use this skill."
"Without the aid of a wand, magic becomes less accurate and prone to various accidents. I remember that in Africa, local wizards were very skilled at this technique."
The spiral staircase led them to a corridor, at the end of which was a beautifully carved wooden door.
Vizette put the notebook back in her pocket, a satisfied smile on her face. "I feel like I've learned a lot again."
“Learning is a never-ending process, and you need to relax occasionally,” Flitwick said with concern. “That’s why I had you join the Quidditch team, so you can have a balance between work and rest.”
Chapter 63 Reencounter with Phoenix Fox
Inside the wooden door was a spacious circular room, with the walls covered with portraits.
These portraits also move, but it's late at night, and they're all asleep, their bodies rising and falling slightly as they doze off.
As they entered, Flitwick lowered his voice considerably, saying, "These are all portraits of the principal."
Vizette nodded, looking around the room with curiosity.
Several desks are placed here, and the desks against the wall are filled with silverware of various shapes. These silverwares rotate or jump, emitting puffs of smoke.
Two rows of curved cabinets were placed against the wall, and in one of the compartments was a tattered wizard's hat, the Sorting Hat used for the Sorting Ceremony.
Just as Vizette was overwhelmed by the sights, a pleasant voice came from above.
He looked up and saw a large, fiery red bird appear before him.
The large bird resembles a swan in shape, with beautiful, shimmering golden tail feathers. Its beak and claws are long, giving it a deadly elegance.
“This is Headmaster Dumbledore’s companion, Fawkes the Phoenix,” Flitwick whispered, “a rare and magical creature.”
“I’ve seen it in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” Vezel nodded in agreement. “But it’s even prettier than the illustration.”
Seemingly having heard Vizette's praise, Fox let out a soft groan and hovered beside Vizette.
“Try reaching out your arm; it seems to like you,” Flitwick said happily. “Don’t worry about catching it; phoenixes are very intelligent.”
Vizette did as he was told, raising his arm as if beckoning an eagle, and Fox immediately leaped up and stood on it.
As Flitwick said, the phoenix brought him no burden, but rather warmth.
This warmth felt familiar, reminding him of when he first came into this world.
“I remember you…” Vizet said softly, very gently, “Thank you for catching me.”
Fox let out another soft hum and nuzzled his cheek.
“It seems you know Fox, that’s great,” Flitwick said with a smile. “I’ll have someone prepare some food for you, and it will be delivered here shortly.”
A little embarrassed, Vizette quickly said, "That would be too much trouble."
Flitwick blinked. "It's late, and I'd like to have a bedtime snack, just something to go with it."
……
Vizet had no idea what Flitwick's bedtime snack was.
However, he was certain that what suddenly appeared on his desk was not his bedtime snack.
If you eat a large lamb chop and steak, plus three baked potatoes, before bed, you'll probably dream of being stuffed.
However, he couldn't resist the tempting smell of meat and began to enjoy his "bedtime snack."
He chewed his steak in small bites and fed Fox some blimp jelly.
He learned this from "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them": phoenixes like to drink dew and taste herbs and berries.
The airship seemed to suit Fox's taste; it raised its beautiful head, indicating that Vizet could touch its neck.
Vizet placed her hand on Fox's neck, where the feathers were smoother and softer, and the warmth emanating from them was even more intense.
After stroking him for a while, he felt that he and Fox got along quite well.
He also felt more relaxed and could think more clearly about what had happened that night.
After thinking it over, he recalled many things that had happened before and suddenly felt a little depressed.
……
After an unknown amount of time, Dumbledore's voice appeared, "It seems you and Fawkes get along well."
He turned his head and saw Dumbledore standing at the door of the headmaster's office with a gentle smile on his face.
Time seemed to have turned Dumbledore's hair white, but it did not bring him any more trouble. He remained vigorous, and his bright blue eyes were full of spirit.
Fox flapped its wings and landed on Dumbledore's arm, rubbing its cheek with its beautifully curved beak.
