Secondly, it cannot turn inanimate objects into living ones, or living objects into inanimate ones; polymorph cannot change the target's life level or state.
The third rule is that you cannot use polymorph spells on magical items, as the two will clash strongly due to the differences in spells and sources of magic.
Furthermore, special shapeshifting spells like Animagus also have similar limitations, namely, they cannot transform into magical creatures.
Chu Yang's understanding is that the conflict between shapeshifting and magical items (creatures) is similar to adding two unrelated or even conflicting pieces of programming code to a program, which disrupts the normal operation of the original program.
The fourth item is quantity. You can't use metamorphosis to turn a target into multiple targets. This kind of copying or creating of individuals is similar to the second item, which is beyond the reach of human beings.
The fifth rule is to create something from nothing. You cannot use transfiguration to create a substance out of thin air, even if you have seen it before or know it well.
These five special cases all involve attempts to use magic to violate the laws of "reality"!
Interestingly, Chu Yang had a feeling that these five things were not impossible to achieve; they were more like a kind of "shackle." Once one of them was broken, magic would enter a completely new realm and undergo a qualitative change.
In the first class for the new students, Professor McGonagall briefly touched on some essential points, and because most of the Slytherin freshmen were absent, she did not teach any spells.
"Review what I just covered," Professor McGonagall said, then transformed back into a tabby cat and sat upright on the lectern, her cat eyes revealing a human-like weariness.
After a brief silence, four figures burst into the classroom: Harry, the savior, and his friend Ron, along with Goyle and Crabbe, whose cheeks were swollen.
"Oh, thank goodness Professor McGonagall isn't here, otherwise we'd be in real trouble. She looks so serious, she can be terrifying when she's not talking!"
Ron grumbled as he pulled Harry toward his seat, completely unaware that Harry's expression had changed.
Professor McGonagall transformed back into human form from her tabby cat form, but merely passed by them; her target was the late-arriving Goyle and Crabbe.
"I heard you had a lot of fun last night, so much so that you don't even want to come to Transfiguration class tomorrow? Should I tell Headmaster Dumbledore to let Slytherin teach Transfiguration on their own?"
Professor McGonagall's face was frosty, and her voice was not loud, but every word she spoke pierced the hearts of Goyle and Crabbe. They now regretted not sleeping on the floor yesterday, otherwise they could have gone to the infirmary with the others for treatment.
“That’s not how it is, Professor McGonagall, let me explain.” Goyle hurriedly tried to explain, then felt someone gently tugging at the hem of his robe. He turned around and saw Crabbe, and also Chu Yang’s amused smile.
In an instant, Gao Er felt a chill run down his spine, as if an electric current was flowing through his body. He still remembered Chu Yang's feat of single-handedly taking down the entire first-year boys' dormitory last night.
How many punches can I take?
Not even one punch!
"We're so sorry, Professor McGonagall. We promise it won't happen again!" Goyle quickly admitted his mistake and then obediently shut his mouth.
Professor McGonagall paused, still waiting for an explanation...
"There won't be a next time!" Professor McGonagall's eyes widened, and she said loudly, "Sit down!"
Gore and Crabbe sat down, but they couldn't concentrate on the lesson at all, fidgeting as if there were nails on the bench.
The reason they acted this way was because their seats were right in front of Chu Yang. Even without turning around, they could clearly feel the tangible gaze sweeping over them from behind.
The Slytherin girls had planned to ask Goyle and Crabbe some specific questions, but the two of them remained motionless, like statues in the hall, eyes downcast, until the next class.
The Potions classroom was in the dungeon, not far from the entrance to the Slytherin common room. The entire corridor leading to the Potions classroom was dark and damp, and most of the new students had fear on their faces.
The atmosphere here is far too eerie, and it puts a lot of psychological pressure on a group of 11-year-old children.
Hermione, who had originally planned not to speak to Chu Yang all day, quickened her pace and moved closer to him.
Hermione coughed and said sarcastically, "Your students are really something, making Professor McGonagall so angry on the first day of school."
Chu Yang nodded noncommittally and said, "I also think they are quite capable."
Chapter 38 Chu Yang VS Snape
Hermione suddenly tugged at Chu Yang's sleeve and whispered, "Can you tell me what's going on? I don't believe so many people would stay in the common room all night. What's the point?"
"I heard the Slytherin common room is under the Black Lake, dark and cold. What's so fun about it?"
Hermione's thinking leans more towards that of an adult; in fact, even Professor McGonagall didn't quite believe the explanation, so she went to the infirmary as soon as get out of class ended and also visited Malfoy.
Chu Yang was too lazy to make up any reasons, since he knew he would eventually be caught hitting someone.
Those people were just knocked unconscious by him, not that they lost their memory.
Chu Yang explained frankly, "Last night they stopped me at the dormitory door, saying that I'm not a pureblood and don't deserve to stay in Slytherin. They were planning to make things difficult for me, but I was tired and sleepy at the time and just wanted to sleep. I didn't have time to play along with them, so I had to ask them all to leave."
Upon hearing this, Hermione paused, her mouth agape, and stared at Chu Yang in shock, asking, "The 'please' you're talking about... is it the 'please' we usually use?"
Chu Yang thought for a moment, then shook his head and said, "There is a slight difference."
"I'm afraid it's more than just a little bit, isn't it?" Hermione took a deep breath, feeling the temperature around her suddenly drop a few degrees, and asked, "Beating up a classmate will get you punished by the school, aren't you afraid?"
"Who beats up so many people? They were more likely to beat me up. I was defending myself." Chu Yang rolled his eyes and helplessly spread his hands. "Were you expect me to just stand there and let them bully me?"
“That’s true. They were the ones who started it!” Hermione felt a pang of sympathy when she thought about how Chu Yang was ostracized by the other Slytherin freshmen because he wasn’t a pureblood, and she couldn’t help but feel indignant as well.
The two chatted about what happened last night as they walked into the classroom.
"Isn't Hermione from Gryffindor? Why is she always hanging around Chu Yang?" Ron felt uncomfortable watching Hermione and Chu Yang chatting happily.
“We’re all classmates, there’s no need to be so clear about it, right? Besides, they should have more in common, since they’re both very smart and knowledgeable.” Harry replied to Ron matter-of-factly, not seeing anything wrong with it at all.
Having learned from their Transfiguration lesson, the new students quickly took their seats upon entering the classroom, fearing Professor Snape's harsh reprimand.
Compared to Professor McGonagall's seriousness and meticulousness, Professor Snape gives off a terrifying and sinister feeling. It always feels like anyone who offends him will suffer a terrible punishment.
Professor Snape entered the classroom after all the students had taken their seats.
He walked with a breezy air, causing his long robe to flutter in the wind.
He might think he's handsome, but Chu Yang felt that the moment he walked in, he looked like a giant, fluttering moth...
"This course doesn't require you to blindly wave your wands or chant spells. I don't think many of you appreciate the profound science and intricate craftsmanship of potion making."
Professor Snape leaned against the lectern, making no attempt to hide the coldness on his face. Just as he was about to continue speaking, he glanced around and noticed that many students were missing.
"This isn't supposed to be the first class this morning, is it? How come so many people are late?" Professor Snape looked at the empty seats, his voice filled with anger. "And they're Slytherin students?!"
Professor Snape slammed his hand heavily on the lectern, the loud thud startling everyone.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
Professor Snape, who was about to continue berating the students, frowned. Anyone would be uncomfortable if their conversation was interrupted.
Professor Snape straightened his clothes, then walked like the wind to the door, opened it, and stood outside Professor McGonagall, who had just returned from the infirmary.
Professor McGonagall first looked into the classroom, saw Chu Yang and showed a helpless expression, then gestured for Professor Snape to come outside to talk.
As Professor McGonagall recounted the reasons for the Slytherin freshmen's absence, Snape was initially bewildered, then fell silent.
The students whispered among themselves, wondering why Professor McGonagall had called Snape out of the classroom during his lecture.
This is an age when people are very curious about everything.
About five minutes later, Professor Snape returned to the classroom with a strange expression on his face.
He didn't walk to the podium, but went straight to Chu Yang and looked at him coldly.
"Mr. Chu Yang, could you tell me how you managed to make several dorm rooms of students unable to attend classes the next day using only your fists?"
"I am genuinely curious, but don't tell me that someone from an orphanage like you knows Eastern Kung Fu, that would be utterly ridiculous!"
Snape made sarcastic remarks to Chu Yang without any restraint, and his words had already caused a huge uproar in the classroom!
The reason those Slytherin students didn't come to class was because Chu Yang beat them up!
In an instant, the place was filled with noise!
Harry and Ron were speechless with astonishment, their eyes filled with admiration as they looked at Chu Yang. Good heavens, he actually took down so many people all by himself?
Yesterday, Ron was telling Harry that if a non-pure-blood wizard like Chu Yang went to Slytherin, his fate would definitely be grim.
Harry was also very worried about Chu Yang's situation.
He secretly breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Chu Yang was safe and sound this morning.
As the only two orphans in the first year, Harry would inevitably feel a sense of shared sorrow if something happened to Chu Yang.
Of the three who were penalized, Hermione was the calmest, having already learned the truth from Chu Yang. However, she was still very worried about Chu Yang, since Professor Snape seemed very angry.
Chu Yang stood up and replied calmly, "Professor Snape, I do not know kung fu, but as you said, I came from an orphanage. The geographical environment there was not good, and fighting was a compulsory course for every child."
"Furthermore, if I may be frank, a wizard who can't cast spells without a wand isn't much better than a Muggle..."
Chu Yang's comparison of Muggles and wizards directly enraged Snape.
He strode forward, almost face-to-face with Chu Yang.
"You've made a huge mistake, Mr. Chu Yang!"
Snape glared fiercely at Chu Yang and shouted, "Don't think you can solve everything with your fists. You might be able to now, but what about two or three months from now? When those freshmen you bullied pick up wands and learn spells, how will you deal with them then? Will you still use your fists?"
The confrontation between Snape and Chu Yang made the already gloomy dungeon even more unbearable. The freshmen watched the two of them with trepidation, too nervous to even breathe.

Chapter 39 The Correct Way to Use a Flying Broomstick
"Let me correct you first. It wasn't me who bullied them, but rather they who bullied me. I was just acting in self-defense."
Chu Yang did not back down because of Snape's anger. He kept his eyes fixed on Snape and retorted calmly, "When they pick up their wands, of course I will pick up my wand to fight back. We are all wizards. Do you think only they know magic?"
