And he completed the task perfectly!

His unstoppable charge, like the wildest chariot, tore the enemy's carefully laid defenses to shreds!

Li Qihang took in all of this through a telescope from a distance.

He noticed that after enduring several enemy attacks, Raki Lu simply shook his head and continued fighting energetically as if nothing had happened. His astonishing resilience and recovery ability left Li Qihang somewhat speechless.

"This guy is simply a born 'super tank'!" Li Qihang exclaimed inwardly. "If we could introduce some concepts like 'life return' and 'creation regeneration' from Naruto to enhance his recovery and damage tolerance, and combine them with some preliminary ideas about gourmet cells to strengthen his physique through specific foods..."

A plan to turn Raki Loo into the team's "indestructible tank" began to slowly take shape in Li Qihang's mind.

Chapter 26 teaches a lesson.

Kai soon discovered that the newly arrived island was far more chaotic than he had imagined.

This place seems to be a notorious lawless zone in the first half of the Grand Line. Although the port is bustling, order has completely disappeared.

Pirates and thugs armed with weapons and fierce eyes can be seen everywhere on the streets, and the air is filled with the smell of alcohol, cheap perfume and violence.

The law of the jungle is vividly demonstrated here.

He had only been away from the port for a short time when he "witnessed" a street fight.

Two drunken pirates drew their swords at each other over a minor argument, and one of them fell into a pool of blood. Bystanders glanced at him indifferently and hurried away, as if it were nothing new.

Then, several ragged-looking men, who looked like local thugs, surrounded the dead and wounded, skillfully looting all valuables from them before leaving.

No one called the police, and no so-called "law enforcement officers" appeared.

Kai walked past silently, but his heart was filled with turmoil.

The cruelty and indifference here were far more direct and bloody than the conflict he had experienced with the thugs before.

He realized that here, simply having the ability to protect himself might not be enough. To survive, or even to live a slightly better life, he had to demonstrate enough strength to deter others from easily provoking him.

Penniless and starving, he quickly became the target of some ill-intentioned individuals.

At first, it was some petty thieves who tried to steal the seemingly sharp dagger from him when he wasn't looking (they thought he was an easy target because he was blind).

Kai, relying on his keen senses, easily saw through their tricks and retaliated with ruthless methods—usually breaking their wrists or knocking out a few teeth—to let them know that he was not someone to be trifled with.

After several conflicts, those petty thugs dared not provoke him anymore.

But soon, he encountered even greater trouble.

Some gang members entrenched in certain neighborhoods, seeing him as an outsider who seemed somewhat "special" (blind yet exceptionally skilled), tried to extort so-called "protection money" from him or force him to join their gang.

Faced with these more organized and numerous threats, Kai had no choice but to engage in battle once again.

He used his unpredictable movements and precise use of the environment to outmaneuver his opponent in the narrow alleyways.

He no longer passively defended as before, but took the initiative to attack, looking for the enemy's weaknesses and resolving the battle in the simplest and most lethal way.

His attacks were often unexpected and daring, and combined with his ghostly movements, he made it impossible for thugs who were used to straightforward fighting styles to defend themselves.

After several tough battles, Kai was injured, but his ferocity and tenacity left a deep impression on the local bullies.

They realized that this seemingly blind lone wolf was an insurmountable obstacle, or even a ferocious beast lurking in the shadows.

Gradually, fewer and fewer people started to cause him trouble.

Having resolved the basic security issues, Kai began to think about how to survive on this chaotic island and look for opportunities to become stronger.

He needed food, shelter (even just a corner to keep out the wind and rain), money to buy necessities, and, most importantly, information—about the island, about the Grand Line, and about the “enemies” he would have to face.

He began to try to use his perception to do some "work" that he could earn in exchange for money.

With his superhuman hearing and sense of smell, as well as his ability to perceive subtle traces, he successfully helped a merchant who had lost important goods to recover them in the chaotic slums.

Although the merchant was surprised and slightly afraid of his abilities, he still paid him a sum of money that, while not generous, was enough to feed him for a few days.

He also used his ability to sense human scent and emotions to help a bar owner who was being blackmailed by thugs find the mastermind behind it all and, in a "special" way, get the thugs to promise to stop harassing the bar.

The bar owner was extremely grateful and not only waived his meals but also gave him some information about the distribution of underground forces on the island.

Sometimes, he would also take on jobs that involved "teaching people a lesson".

It is usually aimed at those minor characters who bully the weak and commit many evil deeds, but are not powerful enough to be unable to deal with them.

He is ruthless, but he has his own bottom line—he only targets villains, and usually only injures them, not kills them (unless the other party threatens his life).

Gradually, in the lower echelons of this chaotic island society, a rumor about a "blind killer" or "dark hunter" began to spread in small circles.

People didn't know his name, only that there was such a strange, taciturn loner who was blind, but whose skills were unusually strange and powerful, and who seemed to only target those who did evil.

He's not someone to mess with, so it's best to stay away from him. But if you're in trouble and can afford the price (usually food or information), you might try seeking his "help."

Kai didn't care about these rumors; he just quietly did what he thought was necessary.

For him, each "job" was both a means of survival and a form of practical training.

In his interactions with all sorts of people, he learned how to conceal his true intentions, how to distinguish between lies and truth, and how to better protect himself in this cruel world.

His mind matured and hardened through his interactions with this chaotic island.

He was like a stubborn rock thrown into a raging torrent. He was neither swept away nor had his edges smoothed out. Instead, through constant collisions and impacts, he became harder and heavier.

His path remained long and dark, but his steps grew ever more resolute.

After struggling to survive on this chaotic island for some time, Kai gradually figured out some of the intricacies of the place through various sporadic "jobs" and contact with the lower classes.

He had heard that in the heart of the island, there was a large casino called "Golden Dice," one of the most bustling and darkest places on the entire island.

It is not only a vortex of rapid flow and evaporation of wealth, but also an important hub where various forces converge and information flows.

Pirates, merchants, bounty hunters, information brokers, and even some plainclothes naval officers could all be found in that place.

For Kai, who desperately needs information, craves opportunities, and has a certain degree of confidence in his own perception, the casino is undoubtedly a place full of temptation and risk.

Chapter 27 The Old Vendor's Collar

He decided to go there and try his luck.

He might be able to earn some much-needed funds through small-scale gambling, but more importantly, he hoped to capture some valuable intelligence in that crowded and information-mixed environment, or find an opportunity that would allow him to advance further or even leave the island.

With this in mind, Kai arrived at the outskirts of the "Golden Dice" casino.

Even from across the street, he could clearly sense the deafening noise and frenzied atmosphere inside the casino.

The air was thick with the distinctive smell of alcohol, tobacco, perfume, and a mixture of money and sweat.

A cacophony of sounds—the clinking of dice, the clicking of the roulette wheel, the rustling of cards, the excited shouts and desperate cries of the gamblers—were interwoven to form a symphony of desire and madness.

Instead of immediately entering the casino, Kai stopped at some small, relatively inconspicuous gambling stalls on the periphery.

These gambling stalls typically feature games with simple rules and low stakes, such as guessing odd or even, betting on big or small, or simple card games.

He stood quietly beside a dice game stall, not in a hurry to place a bet, but focusing all his attention on his senses.

He carefully "listened" to the subtle sounds of the dice colliding and tumbling inside the dice cup as the dealer shook it, and felt the extremely faint vibration and tilt angle when the dice finally stopped.

He even tried to sense the emotional fluctuations of the dealer and the surrounding gamblers—was it confidence? Nervousness? Greed? Or guilt?

With his extraordinary hearing and keen perception of subtle vibrations and emotional fluctuations, Kai began to try placing bets.

He bets very small amounts and is very cautious, only making bets when he is quite confident.

Surprisingly, his winning percentage was quite high.

Several times, he was able to accurately determine whether the dice roll was high or low before the dealer opened the cup.

Even though he can't see the cards when playing simple card games, he can roughly judge the quality of his opponent's hand by sensing subtle changes in their breathing, heart rate, and even slight tremors in their hand muscles, thus making a relatively advantageous choice.

After a few small wins, Kai had a few more clinking coins in his pocket.

Although the amount of money was not much, it was a rare gain for him.

However, his "good luck" also began to attract the attention of some people.

Several burly, menacing-looking casino thugs standing by the gambling stall, responsible for maintaining order, began to intentionally or unintentionally cast their gazes toward Kai.

They were both curious and wary of this strange young man who seemed to be blind but always seemed to win money.

The biggest taboo in casinos is cheating or having abnormally good luck, which makes them easy targets.

Kai keenly sensed the malicious gazes and scrutinizing aura.

He felt a chill run down his spine, knowing he had to be even more careful.

He immediately slowed down the frequency of his betting, and even deliberately lost a few rounds, giving back some of his winnings.

He tried to make himself look more like an ordinary gambler with fluctuating luck than an "outlier" with special abilities.

He knew that casinos were places rife with shady dealings.

Small bets may be harmless, but if you win too much, or attract the attention of the forces behind the casino, it could very well lead to your death.

He came here not to make money, but for information and opportunities.

He had to carefully control the scale, continuing to observe and wait without causing too much trouble.

As Kai was pretending to casually participate in the gambling while secretly using his senses to scan his surroundings and try to capture useful information, a scene unfolding not far from the casino caught his attention.

He was an honest fruit vendor who looked quite old, his face bearing the marks of time.

His fruit stand was located in a small corner near the side entrance of the casino, and business was already slow.

At that moment, several thugs dressed in casino uniforms, but looking more like local bullies, were surrounding his stall, arrogantly picking and choosing.
