As night fell as dark as ink over the entire mining area, with only a few pale stars twinkling in the sky, Kai made his move.
He moved silently toward the huge abandoned warehouse, like a shadow blending into the darkness.
His breathing was long and steady, his footsteps were so light that they were inaudible, and even the rustling of his simple clothes was cleverly concealed by his subtle aura of dominance.
At the entrance to the warehouse, two drowsy pirate guards were leaning against the door, dozing off.
Kai did not choose to enter through the main entrance.
He walked around the warehouse's outer wall, carefully sensing the structure of the wall.
He quickly found a broken ventilation opening located high up on the side of the warehouse.
Although the location was high and the entrance narrow, it was not a difficult task for Kai, whose agility was growing.
Like a nimble cat, he silently climbed the outer wall of the warehouse, then nimbly slipped into the dusty, cobweb-covered ventilation shaft.
The ventilation duct was pitch black (which made no difference to him), and filled with the smell of rust and mildew.
Kai crawled forward inside, relying on his sense of the pipe structure.
He could clearly "hear" the sounds coming from the warehouse below—the pirates' rude laughter, the sounds of drinking and playing drinking games, and the monotonous footsteps of the patrolling guards.
He advanced cautiously, as if walking through the heart of the enemy.
He quickly found a suitable vantage point—a grid-like opening leading downwards near the top beam of the warehouse.
He stopped there, maximizing his perception, and began to carefully "investigate" the situation inside the warehouse.
The warehouse was huge, filled with abandoned ore carts, tools, and some enormous mechanical wreckage that I couldn't identify.
A dozen or so pirates were scattered around, most of them sitting around a campfire drinking and bragging, looking quite relaxed.
There were also three or four pirates, carrying weapons, patrolling back and forth in the warehouse along a fixed route, but they seemed somewhat distracted.
Kai pinpointed the location of each guard, their patrol routes, the rhythm of their steps, and even the direction and duration of their gaze (focus of attention).
He was like a master chess player, mentally strategizing the best infiltration and action plan.
He needed to deal with the scattered patrol guards first, and he had to do it quietly so as not to alert the pirates in the central area.
After finalizing the plan, Kai took a deep breath and, like a spider, silently slid down the ventilation duct to the beam at the top of the warehouse.
Then, he seized the moment when a patrolling guard walked under the beam and was in a blind spot for everyone else, and he silently descended like a ghost!
Before the guard could react, Kai's hand was already clamped over his mouth and nose like an iron clamp, while his other elbow struck him hard on the back of the neck! The guard didn't even have time to groan before he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
Kai didn't kill him, but simply stunned him and then quickly dragged him to a more secluded corner.
Do the same thing.
Kai, using his absolute advantage in sensing the environment and enemies, moved like the Grim Reaper in the darkness, traversing the shadows of the warehouse.
He could always find the perfect moment and angle to silently eliminate the lone or blind-sighted patrol guards one by one without alerting anyone.
Sometimes they would use the suddenness of a fall from a height to launch a sneak attack, sometimes they would use the shadows created by complex terrain to lie in ambush, and sometimes they would even use noise (such as deliberately kicking over an empty oil drum) to attract a guard to come and investigate, and then ambush him.
His movements were clean and efficient, without any hesitation.
Every move is precisely calculated in terms of force and angle to ensure that the target can be defeated in the shortest time with minimal movement.
In less than ten minutes, he had silently taken down all four pirate guards who were patrolling the warehouse.
Meanwhile, the pirates in the central area, drinking around the campfire, were completely unaware of what was happening! They continued to laugh and boast about their "heroic deeds," oblivious to the danger that was quietly approaching.
After clearing away the surrounding obstacles, Kai's gaze (perception) fell on the center of the group of pirates by the campfire—a burly man with an unusually large build, a hideous scar on his face, who was drinking heavily while holding a barrel of liquor.
Judging from the fierce and powerful aura emanating from him, he was undoubtedly the target this time—"Bonebreaker" Rag!
"It's you!" A cold glint flashed in Kai's eyes (and in his heart) as he gripped the "Tranquility" staff-knife tightly.
The hunt is about to begin!
Just as the pirates were drinking and enjoying themselves around the campfire, at the height of their excitement, Kai made his move!
puff!
Blood splattered! The pirate's smile froze instantly, a hoarse sound came from his throat, the wine glass in his hand slipped to the ground, and his body slumped down.
This sudden change was like pouring a ladle of cold water into a boiling oil pan, instantly plunging the entire warehouse into a deathly silence!
All the pirates who were drinking and bragging were stunned! They stared wide-eyed at the figure that had suddenly appeared and, like a ghost, reaped the lives of their companions.
"Enemy... Enemy attack!" After a brief silence, someone let out a terrified scream.
The pirates then seemed to wake from a dream, dropping their wine cups and barrels and frantically grabbing the weapons around them—scimitars, axes, iron bars, and even a few old muskets.
"Who is it?! How dare you trespass on my territory and cause trouble!" "Bonebreaker" Rag suddenly stood up and slammed the empty wine barrel in his hand to the ground with a loud bang.
His beast-like eyes were fixed on Kai. When he saw (or rather, noticed) Kai's empty eyes, he was stunned for a moment, then burst into an even more furious roar: "A blind man?! How dare he ambush my men?! Chop him into mincemeat!"
A dozen or so pirates, having finally realized what was happening, charged toward Kai like a tidal wave, their eyes red with fury, shouting and brandishing their weapons, under Lag's command!
Facing the siege of more than a dozen pirates, Kai's face remained expressionless, displaying only a cold focus.
He raised his Observation Haki to its limit, and everything around him seemed to slow down.
The location, movements, weapon trajectories, and even the chaotic, rapid breathing of each pirate, all of which were clearly displayed in his "mind network."
The cramped warehouse space might be a disadvantage for ordinary people, but for Kai, it became an advantageous battlefield.
This means the enemy cannot fully deploy their formation, and it also means there are more obstacles he can utilize.
Instead of fighting head-on, he moved swiftly and dodged through the crowd of attackers like a fish.
His movements were unpredictable, sometimes charging forward, sometimes retreating, sometimes using the mechanical debris beside him to block, and sometimes taking advantage of the gaps between enemies to launch a counterattack.
His every strike was exceptionally concise and efficient.
There are no fancy moves, only the most precise parries and the most deadly stabs.
The flash of the blade often appeared at the most unexpected angles, spraying bursts of blood.
Chapter 51: His fame resounded throughout the entire sea! Everyone was shocked!
His physical skills were equally formidable.
Punches, elbows, and knees strike like a storm, always hitting the opponent's vulnerable areas such as joints, ribs, and temples with precision.
He would even use grappling and throwing techniques to fling one overly aggressive pirate directly at another, creating chaos.
"Ah!" "My hand!" "Is this guy... a ghost?!"
Screams, cries of alarm, and the sounds of clashing weapons filled the air.
The pirates discovered that they were not facing an ordinary blind man at all, but a terrifying opponent who was like a ghost and incomprehensible!
Their attacks, no matter how swift or cunning, always seemed to be anticipated by the opponent and easily neutralized at minimal cost.
But the opponent's counterattacks were always so unexpected, so precise and deadly! They couldn't even see how the opponent made their move before they were already hit and fell to the ground!
This completely unpredictable and incomprehensible fighting style put immense psychological pressure on the pirates.
They had never encountered such a bizarre opponent! Someone who was clearly invisible seemed to be able to "see through" all their movements and intentions!
Gradually, the pirates' momentum began to wane, their eyes filled with fear and hesitation.
Their attacks became less resolute, and some even began to retreat subconsciously.
"Useless! Get him! He's just blind!" Rag roared angrily from the side, trying to boost morale.
But even he himself began to feel a chill.
This blind man is so strange!
Kai noticed the change in the pirates' morale.
He knew his chance had come! He suddenly accelerated, taking the hit of a pirate's slash (using his arm, which was covered in a faint sense of Armament Haki, to block; it still hurt, but the bones weren't broken), and then used the momentum to spin around. His "Tranquility" staff-blade pierced the heart of the last remaining pirate henchman like a venomous snake emerging from its hole!
At this point, all the pirate henchmen except for Laggle were lying on the ground, either dead or wounded, and completely incapacitated.
In the empty warehouse, only Kai and "Bonebreaker" Rag remained, facing each other from a distance.
The campfire was still burning, casting long shadows of the two men, creating an extremely oppressive atmosphere.
"Who...who exactly are you?" Rag's voice trembled slightly, and he gripped the huge spiked club tightly, his palms already covered in cold sweat.
The blind man in front of him was putting him under even more pressure than some of the naval officers he had encountered before!
Kai did not answer.
He simply raised the "Meditation" cane knife in his hand slowly, the tip of the blade pointing at Rag in the distance.
The hunt has entered its final stage.
Inside the warehouse, the campfire crackled, illuminating the two men facing off.
The air seemed to freeze, filled with a chilling atmosphere.
"Bonebreaker" Rag gripped his massive spiked club tightly, his heavy breathing revealing his inner tension and anger.
He couldn't comprehend how his dozen or so battle-hardened men could be so easily dispatched by a blind man who looked so young! Just what kind of monster was this blind man?!
Kai stood calmly not far away, the cane-sword in his hand, named "Tranquility," pointing diagonally at the ground, with a trace of warm blood still remaining on the tip.
His breathing was long and steady, as if he had just experienced a trivial activity.
