Upon hearing this, Su Ting frowned and pondered for a while before finally speaking.

"What we need to do now is find a place where we can both hide and fight back."

"Xiao Zhang, contact command and ask if there are any backup safe houses or bases available. Also, tell them we need to find that old man."

Just as he finished speaking, faint footsteps came from outside the warehouse. Su Ting was startled and whispered for everyone to be quiet, then gestured for Liu Hao to check the entrance.

Liu Hao quietly approached the door and peered out through the crack. He saw several people dressed as secret agents searching the area, getting closer and closer to the warehouse.

Liu Hao reported in a low voice: "A few people have come over. It looks like they came specifically to see us."

"Everyone, prepare for battle!" Su Ting reacted quickly. "Xiao Zhang, send a message to command as soon as possible, telling them our exact coordinates."

Xiao Zhang immediately began operating the radio device.

At that moment, enemy figures appeared at the doorway. The leader raised his gun and pointed it at the warehouse door. "I know you're inside. Come out and surrender! We'll spare your lives!"

Su Ting gripped his pistol tightly and gave a cold smile.

“Surrender is out of the question. We’ll go through the side door and split up. A-Qiang, you’re in charge of activating the backup escape device. The rest of you will evacuate along the original route. Zhao Ying and I will cover the rear. Xiao Zhang, make sure communication with command is always open!”

Everyone sprang into action. Ah Qiang activated an emergency exit hidden in the corner of the wall. After a faint mechanical sound, a false wall slowly opened, revealing a path leading outside.

Chapter 273 Delaying the Enemy's Time

The team members quickly passed through the secret exit and ran along the path. Su Ting and Zhao Ying stayed behind to ensure everyone's safe evacuation.

"Qiang, you guys get out of here quickly. We'll try our best to delay the enemy," Su Ting said in a deep voice, his eyes resolute.

A-Qiang nodded and led the other team members away from the scene quickly.

The air inside the warehouse suddenly became tense. Su Ting and Zhao Ying leaned against the corner of the wall, holding pistols and pointing them at the door. The footsteps outside grew closer and closer, as if they might break down the door at any moment.

The lead agent continued shouting, "I know you have no other way out! Surrender, and we promise we won't make things difficult for you."

Su Ting sneered and whispered to Zhao Ying, "Get ready, we need to buy time to get them to evacuate as far away as possible."

Just then, a metallic scraping sound came from outside the door, as if a tool was cutting the lock.

"Are you ready?" Zhao Ying asked softly, gripping the gun tightly in her hand.

“No problem.” Su Ting’s eyes were full of determination. “We’ll give them a surprise when they come in.”

As the lock was cut, a sliver of light shone through the crack in the door. In that instant, Su Ting and Zhao Ying simultaneously raised their guns and fired, a hail of bullets striking the door frame and forcing the agents to immediately retreat.

"Go, quick!" Zhao Ying shouted, and the two took the opportunity to slip out of the warehouse side door and quickly retreat along the path.

They ran through the dimly lit alley, the sounds of enemies chasing them echoing behind them. Su Ting glanced back to make sure no one was following for the time being, then quickened his pace.

After running for a few minutes, the two finally arrived at the end of a narrow alley. This was the edge of the city, surrounded by abandoned factories and warehouses.

"Let's hide here for now," Su Ting said breathlessly, pointing to an abandoned workshop ahead.

Zhao Ying nodded in agreement, and the two quickly entered the workshop.

The workshop was filled with rusty machines, and the air was thick with a musty smell. The two leaned against a wall, their breathing gradually calming down.

“We need to find that old man as soon as possible; he’s the key,” Zhao Ying said, taking out her tablet to search for new clues.

Su Ting glanced around, making sure no one was chasing them for the time being, before relaxing slightly. "Has command headquarters responded yet?"

Zhao Ying tapped the screen faster. "Not yet, but it should be soon."

Just then, the radio crackled to life; it was Xiao Zhang's voice: "Captain, the command center has set up a backup safe house, and the coordinates have been sent to you."

Su Ting took the tablet from Zhao Ying and checked the coordinates on the map. He nodded, "Okay, got it, we'll be right there. What's your location now?"

"We're still on our way, we expect to arrive in half an hour. Be careful," Xiao Zhang reminded them.

“Understood, we will get there as soon as possible. Keep communication open,” Su Ting replied.

Turning off the radio, Su Ting turned to Zhao Ying and said, "Let's go. Follow the route on this map to the safe house."

Zhao Ying nodded and followed Su Ting outside. The two carefully made their way through several hidden paths, trying to avoid potential surveillance areas.

Suddenly, Zhao Ying stopped in her tracks, her eyes fixed warily ahead. A black SUV slowly approached and stopped directly in front of them.

The car window rolled down, revealing the face of an expressionless old man. "Get in," the old man said in a calm but unquestionable tone.

Su Ting hesitated for a moment, then exchanged a glance with Zhao Ying, and the two finally decided to take the risk. They got into the car and sat in the back seat.

The vehicle restarted and sped off toward an unknown destination.

The atmosphere inside the car was heavy, and no one spoke. Su Ting felt a mix of emotions, wondering what the old man's true purpose was.

The car stopped in front of an inconspicuous courtyard. The old man got out and went into the courtyard first. Su Ting and Zhao Ying followed him into the house.

Chapter 274 Important Documents

The dim light inside illuminated an old wooden table, on which sat an antique radio and several yellowed maps. The old man sat down at the table and gestured for Su Ting and Zhao Ying to sit down as well.

"You've come to see me, haven't you?" The old man's tone was calm, but his eyes shone with a sharp light.

Su Ting nodded slightly. "Yes, we need your help."

The old man nodded, his gaze sweeping back and forth between the two men.

“I know some things, and I know the difficulties you are facing. But the situation is complicated now, and I need to verify the credibility of your identities.”

Su Ting immediately understood what the other party meant, and took out a folded piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to the old man. "This is a confidential letter from our command to you."

The old man took the slip of paper, examined it carefully, and a barely perceptible smile appeared on his face. "Very good, you have passed the initial verification."

Su Ting relaxed slightly. "Thank you for your trust. We do need your help now; the enemy has discovered us and has been hunting us relentlessly."

“I know,” the old man said calmly. “They have already taken control of many places, but we still have ways.”

Zhao Ying looked at the old man and asked, "What specific plans do you have?"

The old man pointed to the map on the table.

"First, we need a safe place to hide. This house is relatively secluded and can serve as our temporary base. Next, I'm going to take you to an even safer place where an important document is hidden."

"Is that information useful to us?" Su Ting asked.

The old man nodded. “Very useful. It contains the locations of the enemy’s secret strongholds and their operational plans. With this information, we can launch a more proactive counterattack.”

A hint of excitement flashed in Zhao Ying's eyes. "Then let's set off now."

"Wait a moment," the old man stood up and walked to a cabinet by the wall. "We cannot act rashly; we need to prepare first."

The old man took out several small pieces of equipment from the cabinet, including radio equipment, miniature explosives, and some weapon accessories. "These are necessities, just in case."

Su Ting took the equipment and examined it carefully. "These things are very advanced. Thank you."

"Don't forget, time is of the essence. We must find those documents before the enemy does," the old man said.

After the three of them finished getting ready, they left the house. The night outside was still peaceful, broken only by the occasional sound of a car in the distance.

They quickly made their way through several alleyways and arrived at an abandoned underground parking lot. The old man stopped in front of a rusty door, took a key from his pocket, inserted it into the lock, and the door slowly opened.

Upon entering the basement, one finds a hidden laboratory. Various instruments and computers are neatly arranged, and a row of screens on the wall displays multiple surveillance feeds.

"This is my workstation. We can contact command from here and also track the enemy's movements," the old man explained.

Zhao Ying immediately sat down at a computer and typed rapidly on the keyboard. "Have you received the coordinates of the new safe house assigned by the command center? Let me confirm the route."

“I’ve already sent it to Xiao Zhang and the others; they’ll follow this route to the new safe house,” the old man said, assisting from the side.

Su Ting observed for a while, then secretly breathed a sigh of relief. They had finally found reliable helpers and a hiding place.

Suddenly, the alarm went off, and a red dot flashed on the computer screen.

"Oh no! Enemy invasion!" Zhao Ying shouted.

The old man immediately picked up the radio next to him, "Xiao Zhang, this is A1, enemy situation detected, please take evasive action immediately!"

"Received, we are en route to the new safe house. Please remain vigilant," Xiao Zhang's voice came through the radio.

The old man looked at Su Ting and Zhao Ying, "We must leave here now."

The three quickly left the lab, retreating along a pre-planned route. Several cars were already waiting outside, and they hurriedly got in.

Chapter 275 Reaching the Safe House as Quickly as Possible

The car sped through the night, the streetlights flashing past the window, casting blurry streaks of light and shadow.

Su Ting sat in the back seat, staring intently at the scene outside, while Zhao Ying kept contacting the command center on her mobile phone.

“They seem to already know we’re on a mission,” Zhao Ying said. “We must get to the safe house as soon as possible.”

The old man drove the car with sharp and focused eyes.

"They may have been monitoring our radio communications, but don't worry, this route is deliberately designed with many detours."

The car braked suddenly at a bend, and the elderly man took a new map from the passenger seat and quickly examined it. "There's an obstacle ahead; we need to change course."

Su Ting nodded. "Act according to your judgment."

The old man restarted the vehicle and chose another side road. This road had almost no streetlights; only the silvery moonlight illuminated the path ahead.

Shortly after, the car suddenly stopped, and a young man wearing glasses walked up and knocked on the window. The old man rolled down the window, the two whispered a few words, and then the young man handed him a new envelope.
