"Is that path safe?" Li Ming asked.
Zhao Lei smiled slightly: "I just checked, it should be fine. But we still can't be careless."
They cautiously made their way down the corridor and finally saw a metal door ahead. Zhao Lei stepped forward, entered the password, and the door slowly opened.
Outside the door lay an abandoned factory area, a desolate scene under the moonlight. Su Ting looked up at the night sky and silently prayed.
"Alright, everyone, proceed according to plan, but be careful," Su Ting instructed in a low voice.
"Understood," the team members answered in unison.
Su Ting led everyone quickly through the ruins, occasionally the wind howled, making their hearts race.
Just then, faint footsteps came from afar.
"Stop, there are people ahead," Zhao Lei whispered a reminder.
"Hide," Su Ting ordered in a low voice.
Everyone immediately crouched down, hiding behind the ruins, holding their breath and waiting.
The footsteps grew closer, and a man in black, armed, slowly approached them.
"What should we do?" Li Ming asked quietly.
"Don't move, just observe the situation," Su Ting replied.
The man in black finally approached them, looked around for a while, seemed to find nothing unusual, and then continued walking forward.
Su Ting and the others breathed a sigh of relief, stood up again, and quickened their pace toward the city gate.
"We're almost there, just hang in there a little longer," Zhao Lei encouraged.
They finally arrived near the city gate and saw the hidden path clearly visible.
"Let's go out from here," Zhao Lei said, pointing ahead.
“Okay, let’s go,” Su Ting said firmly.
Just as they were about to take a step, a sharp whistle suddenly rang out, breaking the surrounding silence.
Several beams of intense light immediately shot in from all directions, surrounding them. Su Ting's heart tightened; he knew the situation was dire.
"Damn it, we've been discovered!" Zhao Lei roared.
"Spread out and find cover!" Su Ting reacted quickly and shouted the order.
The team members immediately scattered, looking for places to hide. Su Ting and Zhao Lei quickly exchanged a glance and rushed towards the city gate at the same time.
"You two, stop running!" an enemy soldier shouted, chasing after them.
"We'll draw their fire, you guys hurry up and get out through the small path!" Su Ting shouted to Li Ming and the other team members.
"No, we can't let you take this risk!" Li Ming said anxiously.
“Listen to me, the sample is more important than anything else!” Zhao Lei said firmly.
The two quickly rushed into a narrow alley, attempting to use the terrain to their advantage to shake off their pursuers. The enemy behind them kept firing, but they skillfully dodged the shots.
"Quick, here!" Zhao Lei suddenly stopped and pointed to an abandoned building in front of him.
They rushed into the building and discovered a secret passage leading to the basement. Without hesitation, the two slid down the passage.
“Old Li said there might be another escape route here,” Zhao Lei explained.
"Hopefully we can find an exit," Su Ting said, cautiously following behind Zhao Lei.

Just then, they heard a series of chaotic footsteps coming from above, clearly indicating that the enemy had discovered their presence.
"This way!" Su Ting gestured for Su Ting to follow him and continue deeper into the underground passage.
"How do you know this place so well?" Su Ting asked as they walked.
“I’ve scouted this area a few times before, so I have a good understanding of the terrain,” Su Ting replied.
"Thanks to you, otherwise we would definitely have been caught," Su Ting said with emotion.
"Don't jump to conclusions too quickly; we're not completely out of danger yet," Su Ting cautioned.
Sure enough, not long after, they heard gunshots and shouts coming from afar.
"It seems the enemy has caught up," Su Ting said in a low voice.
“We must find an exit as soon as possible, or we will be surrounded sooner or later,” Su Ting nodded.
They continued forward and finally saw an iron ladder leading to the ground. Su Ting quickly climbed up, opened the cover, and peeked out to take a look.
“It’s safe outside, let’s go!” Su Ting said softly.
The two quickly climbed out of the tunnel and arrived at a deserted clearing. The edge of the city was not far away, and the hidden path was within easy reach.
"Success!" Su Ting breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at Su Ting.
"It's not over yet, we need to get out of here quickly," Su Ting said in a low voice, looking around warily.
They quickly crossed the open space and ran along the path. In the darkness, only the sound of their footsteps echoed in their ears.
"We're almost there, just hang in there a little longer," Su Ting encouraged.
"Is the road out of the city just ahead?" Su Ting asked.
“Yes, we’ll be able to leave here soon,” Su Ting replied firmly.
Just then, they heard hurried footsteps behind them.
"Oh no, the enemy is catching up again!" Su Ting exclaimed.
"Speed up! We can't get caught here!" Su Ting shouted sternly.
The two sprinted forward with all their might and finally saw the city gate ahead.
"Quick, let's get out of here!" Su Ting shouted.
Su Ting grabbed Su Ting's hand and rushed towards the city gate. Outside the city gate was a dense forest, and the shadows of the trees could be vaguely seen swaying in the moonlight.
"Give it your all, and we'll be safe once we get through this forest!" Su Ting shouted.
Just as they were about to reach the city gate, a burst of gunfire suddenly erupted behind them. Several bullets grazed past them, kicking up clouds of dust.
"Hurry up! Don't stop!" Su Ting pushed Su Ting hard, urging him to run forward.
Su Ting gritted his teeth and forced himself to take a few more steps. Just then, a group of armed men rushed out from a side alley and blocked their way.
"Damn it!" Su Ting cursed under his breath, immediately drawing the dagger from his waist and preparing for close combat.
The enemy leader stepped forward with a sneer, raising his gun and aiming it at Su Ting. "You have nowhere to run. Lay down your weapons and surrender."
Su Ting stared coldly at the other party, his gaze unwavering. "We will not give up easily."
"Then you can all go see the King of Hell together." The enemy sneered, about to pull the trigger.
Just then, a dark figure suddenly darted out from the shadows on the other side, swiftly tackled the enemy, and pushed his gun aside. At the same time, another figure appeared from behind a tree and quickly subdued another armed man.
"Are you all alright?" a steady voice asked.

Su Ting looked closely and was pleasantly surprised to find it was Old Li and his companion. "Old Li! What brings you here?"
Old Li smiled slightly, "Don't worry, how could I possibly abandon you?"
"Great! We can break through together now," Su Ting said happily.
The four quickly regrouped and replanned their route. Old Li surveyed the surroundings and calmly said, "The enemy will react soon; we must leave as quickly as possible."
"There's a hidden path over there that leads out of the city from the other side," Old Li said, pointing to a dense thicket on the left.
Su Ting nodded in agreement: "Then let's proceed according to Old Li's plan."
The group quickly weaved through the crowd and hurried along the path. The jungle was silent and dark in the night, with only the sound of the wind and the occasional animal call.
They ran for more than ten minutes straight and finally saw the edge of the city. Not far ahead, a stream flowed gently, its waters gurgling softly.
“We have to wade across the river. There’s a secluded wooden cabin on the other side where we can rest for a while,” Old Li said in a low voice.
Su Ting nodded, exhausted but still insisting on following behind the others. Everyone took off their shoes and waded into the icy stream.
They had only gone halfway when they suddenly heard a slight noise coming from the opposite bank. Su Ting immediately became alert and waved for the others to stop.
“Someone’s there!” he said softly.
Old Li frowned and whispered, "Be careful, there might be an ambush."
Just then, a figure holding a hunting rifle appeared on the opposite bank, but this person was clearly not an enemy, but an old man from the local area.
"Don't be nervous, I'm just a hunter," the old man said slowly as he walked over. "Seeing how hurried you are, I wonder if you need any help."
Su Ting breathed a slight sigh of relief. "We need to find a safe place to rest."
