"Are you ready?" The old priest's voice echoed in their ears.
"Always be prepared for challenges, that's our unwavering belief," Lucia nodded in reply, gripping her longsword tightly.
"For the safety of this land and its people, we are willing to sacrifice our lives!" the old priest said firmly, as the runestone emitted a dazzling light that illuminated the entire battlefield.
The dragon's attacks grew increasingly fierce; it seemed to sense the threat emanating from the runestone in the old priest's hand. It flapped its enormous wings, the wind howling as if to tear the entire village apart.
"We must act quickly!" Su Ting shouted. "We can't give it any more breathing room!"

Lucia nodded, her eyes burning with an indomitable spirit. "We'll cover the old priest and give him enough time to complete his ritual."
Walker gripped the axe tightly, his eyes flashing with determination. "I'll hold off its tail. You can go ahead and do your job."
Leah stood to the side, ready to fire arrow after arrow. "Give me a little time, and I'm sure I'll find another chance to hit its eye."
The old priest slowly raised the runestone in his hand and began to chant an ancient incantation. His voice was exceptionally clear in the storm, each word seemingly carrying boundless power.
"Great Guardians, grant us strength..."
Just then, the dragon suddenly let out a deafening roar and pounced on the old priest. Su Ting and Lucia rushed forward simultaneously, standing in front of the old priest. The tips of their swords pierced the dragon's scales at the same time. Although they did not cause fatal damage, it was enough to make the dragon retreat temporarily.
"Continue!" Su Ting shouted, his eyes resolute.
The old priest's incantations grew faster and faster, and the runestone's glow intensified. The dark clouds in the sky began to disperse, and sunlight pierced through the thick clouds, illuminating the battlefield.
"Ancestors, grant us protection!" The old priest's voice reached its climax, and the runestone's light reached its peak, as if the sun had descended upon the battlefield.
The dragon clearly sensed this immense power; a flicker of fear crossed its eyes, but it was quickly replaced by rage. It roared, preparing for a final counterattack.
"Quick, old priest, it's almost done!" Lucia shouted anxiously, brandishing her longsword as she tried to buy time.
Leah aimed at the dragon's eye, took a deep breath, and then steadily released the bowstring. The arrow streaked through the air like a meteor, heading straight for one of the dragon's eyes. This time, the arrow was incredibly accurate, piercing the dragon's eye directly. The dragon roared in pain, its body beginning to sway.
"Now!" Su Ting shouted, and he and Lucia charged at the dragon, their longswords and axes flashing simultaneously, aiming for the dragon's vitals. The dragon struggled to break free, but its movements had become much slower.
The old priest's incantation finally reached its climax, and the runestone's light transformed into a dazzling pillar of light that shot straight into the sky. The light was so intense that it seemed as if the entire world trembled before it.
At that very moment, the dragon's body began to tremble violently, its power seemingly bound by some invisible force. It struggled desperately, but ultimately collapsed helplessly, its massive body crashing to the ground with a tremendous roar.
"It's a success!" Walker shouted excitedly, dropping the axe and panting heavily.
Lucia walked to the old priest and gently patted him on the shoulder. "Thank you, we did it."
The old priest smiled wearily, the runestone's light fading. "This is not the end, this is only the beginning. We still need to continue protecting this land until true peace arrives."
The villagers rushed forward, cheering and thanking them. The air was filled with the joy of victory, but in everyone's heart, there was a faint sense of unease.
"What challenges await us in the future?" Leah asked softly.
Su Ting gazed into the distance, a resolute light flashing in his eyes. "No matter what, we will fight side by side until the very last moment."

“Yes, as long as we’re here, we can overcome any difficulty.” Lucia smiled and held Su Ting’s hand, their eyes filled with mutual support and trust.
Walker stepped forward and patted them on the shoulder. "Come on, let's go back to the village and have a proper celebration."
"Great idea!" Leah laughed. She put away her bow and arrows and followed behind them toward the village.
“But we cannot let our guard down,” the old priest suddenly said, his voice still firm. “The darkness has not completely vanished; we must remain vigilant.”
Su Ting turned to look at the old priest, his eyes filled with respect and admiration. "We will always be prepared to ensure that this land is never again plunged into danger."
The old priest nodded slightly, a hint of relief flashing in his eyes. "I believe in you."
“We believe in you too,” Lucia replied with a smile, her tone full of confidence and determination.
As they departed, the shadows of the battlefield gradually dissipated, and sunlight bathed the earth. In the distance, however, a new challenge was quietly approaching, awaiting their arrival.
When Su Ting and his men returned to the village, the villagers were already there to greet them at the entrance, cheering loudly. The elders thanked them with tears in their eyes for their bravery, while the children excitedly surrounded them, eagerly asking about the details of the battle.
"You guys are amazing!" a child exclaimed, eyes wide. "Are dragons really that big?"
Lucia smiled and ruffled the child's hair. "Much bigger than you think."
"So how did you defeat it?" another child asked curiously.
"It's thanks to everyone working together and the old priest's powerful spells," Lia replied.
The villagers prepared a lavish celebratory feast for them. Roasted meat, fresh fruit, and all sorts of pastries filled the village with laughter and joy.
“What a beautiful night,” Lucia said, looking at the villagers around her.
Su Ting nodded and raised his glass. "Our victory is entirely due to everyone's help and support."
"Come on, let's toast to our victory!" Walker shouted, raising his glass.
Everyone raised their glasses in response, and the whole village was immersed in a joyful atmosphere.
Just as everyone was enjoying the victory celebration, a young villager suddenly rushed over, his face filled with anxiety. "Su Ting, Lucia, hurry and check! Something seems wrong in the forest north of the village."
Su Ting immediately stood up, looking at him warily. "What's going on?"
"I don't know. I just passed by there and saw some strange lights and sounds. I was scared, so I ran to tell you," the young villager said nervously.
Su Ting frowned and turned to look at Lucia. "It seems we'll have to go out again tonight."
Lucia nodded, stood up, and picked up the longsword beside her. "Let's go take a look together."
Lia's smile faded, and she took down the bow and arrows hanging on the wall. "I'll go with you."
Walker immediately stood up and grabbed his axe. "Count me in."
Seeing this, the old priest slowly stood up, his tone serious. "I'll go prepare some runestones, just in case."
The four packed their gear and followed the young villager quickly toward the forest to the north. The forest was exceptionally dark under the night sky, with the occasional cry of an unidentified animal echoing through the air.
"Where is that place you're talking about?" Lucia asked.

The young villager pointed ahead. "It's in an open space not far ahead."
The group arrived at the open space he had mentioned, where they saw some broken trees scattered about, and a campfire still burning in the middle, its light casting an eerie glow around them.
"What's going on?" Su Ting looked around in confusion.
“It looks like someone performed a magical ritual here,” Leah said softly, her eyes keenly catching some subtle traces.
"Could there be other enemies lurking here?" Walker asked warily.
Just then, a low, chilling laugh came from afar. The group immediately assumed a defensive stance, gripping their weapons tightly.
"Who's playing tricks there?" Su Ting shouted.
A moment later, a figure slowly emerged from the darkness. His figure gradually became clearer, and it turned out to be an old hunter from the village who was usually taciturn.
"What... are you doing here?" the old hunter asked in surprise.
“We should be the ones asking you that,” Lucia said coldly. “What are you doing here?”
The old hunter's expression became complicated, and he sighed. "Actually, I've been studying an ancient spell here, hoping to find a way to protect our village."
“But this method is not safe.” The old priest’s voice rang out from the side. He held the rune stone in his hand, his gaze calm and serious. “Some powers are uncontrollable, and improper use can bring even greater disasters.”
"I know this might be dangerous, but I'm only doing it to protect the village," the old hunter said helplessly.
“There are many ways to protect the village, but we can’t take this risk,” Su Ting said. “You should stop this attempt, or the consequences will be unimaginable.”
The old hunter lowered his head, clearly convinced. "I will stop, I'm sorry."
“Very good.” The old priest nodded. “Let’s go back. There are still many things to discuss and resolve.”
The four turned and walked towards the village, with the old hunter following behind, his face filled with deep apology.
“This matter is resolved, but I still feel like there are more things waiting for us,” Leah said softly.
"Whatever it is, we will face it together," Su Ting said firmly, his eyes filled with determination.
“That’s right.” Lucia smiled and took his hand. “As long as we’re together, nothing can stop us.”
“You’re right.” Walker patted Suting on the shoulder. “We’re a team.”
They continued on their journey, each with their own thoughts. The road ahead might not be smooth, but as long as they remained united, they would fear no challenge.
"In any case, tomorrow is another day," Leah said softly, looking up at the starry sky.
“Yes, a new day is always full of hope.” Su Ting turned around, his gaze sweeping over everyone’s face, his eyes sparkling.
They continued walking, the campfire fading behind them, and ahead lay an unknown yet hopeful new world.
The old hunter followed the four back to the village, the atmosphere heavy along the way. Although he had promised not to continue researching dangerous sorcery, the unease in the village had not completely dissipated.
As they entered the center of the village, some villagers noticed something and gathered around.
