Xiao Shi climbed out of the window first, grabbed the rope, and began to slide down. Su Ting followed. Just as Amu was about to climb out of the window, the library door was suddenly kicked open, and several fully armed guards rushed in.

"There!" a guard shouted, pointing to Amu at the window.

Without a second thought, Amu jumped out of the window and grabbed the rope. The guards rushed to the window, one of them raising a crossbow and aiming at the three people sliding down.

"Watch out!" Su Ting shouted.

An arrow whistled through the air, narrowly missing Amu's shoulder. Amu endured the pain and continued sliding down. More guards surged to the window, raining arrows down upon him.

"Hurry up!" Amu urged.

The three of them accelerated their descent, their palms aching from the friction of the rope. As they neared the ground, alarm bells rang in the distance, seemingly waking the entire city.

"Run as soon as you land," Amu instructed. "Split up and meet at the cave outside the city."

Chapter 855 Driving Away the Chill of the Night

They landed one after the other and immediately ran in different directions. Su Ting chose the south of the city, passing through several alleys to avoid the patrolling guards.

As he approached the city gate, he found it closed and the guards doubled. Fortunately, he remembered a gap in the wall he had passed earlier, where several loose stones formed a hidden exit.

Squeezing through the gap, Su Ting entered the slum area. There was no large-scale search here, allowing him to pass through smoothly and enter the hilly area outside the city.

Under the moonlight, he headed towards the cave where he had agreed to meet Amu, clutching the two pieces of the Silver Moon Tear that had been joined together, his mind filled with countless thoughts.

The Arctic Plains, that snow-covered far north, hold the last fragment. Drucker is clearly aware of this. A race for the final fragment is about to begin; the victor will gain the power to control the demonic tide.

Before dawn, the three had already met in the cave. Amu's arrow wound on his shoulder had been treated with simple herbs, but his face was slightly pale due to blood loss.

“The situation is more complicated than expected,” he said, leaning against the stone wall, his voice slightly weak. “Drucker has sent not only ordinary guards, but also professional hunters.”

Xiao Shi took out a small package containing dry food and medicine that he had secretly bought in the city: "Eat something first to recover your strength."

Su Ting took the bread Xiao Shi handed him, but his mind was on the fragments: "We already have two fragments, the last one is in the Arctic Plains."

“The problem is the exact location,” Amu frowned. “The Arctic Plains are vast, and without a precise location, searching for it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.”

Su Ting took out the two joined fragments, which emitted a soft silver light in the dim morning light: "Perhaps they can give us some guidance?"

The fragment vibrated gently in his hand, seemingly responding to his words. Su Ting closed his eyes, attempting to establish a deeper connection with the fragment. A chilling sensation flowed into his heart, followed by a blurry image: a gigantic ice pillar standing amidst pristine white snow, topped with a structure resembling a temple.

“I saw some images,” Su Ting opened his eyes. “There is an Ice Temple on the Arctic Plains, and the last fragment may be there.”

“The Ice Temple?” Amu pondered for a moment. “Legend has it that there is an ancient temple built by the Ice Tribe in the center of the Arctic Plains, a place to worship the Moon Goddess.”

“That’s our destination,” Little Stone said firmly. “The problem is how to get to the Arctic Plains? It’s at least ten days’ journey from Blackrock City.”

“Moreover, the entire route is within Drucker’s sphere of influence,” Amu said gravely. “Going directly north is too dangerous. We need to take a detour—from the east, through the Demon Sheath Forest, and then north.”

"The Demon Sheath Jungle?" Su Ting frowned. "I've heard it's very dangerous there."

“It is indeed dangerous,” Amu nodded, “but Drucker’s men dare not enter easily. The elven tribes in the jungle have a tense relationship with Blackrock City, which is actually to our advantage.”

Xiao Shi considered for a moment: "From Blackrock City to the jungle, and then to the Arctic, this journey will take at least a month."

“The key is that we need to get out of this area first,” Amu stood up and checked his equipment. “The nearby villages must have already received the warrants for our arrest.”

The three packed their simple belongings and left the cave in the faint light of dawn, heading east. They avoided main roads and took mountain paths, trying their best to conceal their movements.

After a long day's journey, all three were exhausted. As night fell, they found a secluded ravine to set up camp. The campfire was kept small, just enough to ward off the chill of the night.

"Once we cross that mountain, we'll reach the edge of the Demon Sheath Forest," Amu pointed eastward. "It will take about two more days to reach there."

After a simple dinner, Xiao Shi volunteered to take the first round of night watch. Su Ting and Amu lay down on the makeshift straw mats, trying to get some rest.

In his half-dreaming, half-awake state, Su Ting once again felt the pulse of the Silver Moon Fragment. In his dream, he saw three blurry figures standing before the Ice God Temple, holding complete Silver Moon Tears, with a surging torrent of magical energy behind them.

The next day at daybreak, the three continued their journey. Amu's injuries had improved somewhat, but he still frowned from time to time. The path gradually became rugged, and the vegetation grew denser, indicating that they were approaching jungle territory.

Around noon, as they crossed a small hill, they suddenly saw a troop of cavalry in the distant valley.

"Quickly lie down!" Amu pulled the two of them to hide behind a boulder.

The cavalry consisted of about ten men, fully armed, with the Blackrock City emblem embroidered on their chests. Leading them was a tall, imposing man with a stern face and eyes as sharp as a hawk's.

"Who is that?" Su Ting asked softly.

Chapter 856 Their Strength Should Not Be Underestimated

“That’s Drucker’s right-hand man, Casper,” Amu replied in a low voice. “His strength should not be underestimated; we must be careful.”

Xiao Shi gripped his short sword tightly, a hint of tension flashing in his eyes: "They seem to be searching for something. Could it be that they've discovered our whereabouts?"

Su Ting narrowed his eyes, carefully observing the movements of the cavalry. They seemed to be searching back and forth in the valley, showing no intention of leaving immediately.

"Should we take a detour?" Su Ting asked.

“No,” Amu shook his head. “The terrain here is complicated, and taking a detour will waste too much time. We must get through here as soon as possible.”

Su Ting nodded, already having a plan in mind: "I have an idea. Xiao Shi, you stay here and continue to observe them. Amu, you come with me. We'll go around to the grove over there and approach them from the side, then try to distract them."

Xiao Shi frowned, but nodded anyway: "Okay, be careful."

The three acted swiftly. Xiao Shi lay prone behind a boulder, his eyes fixed on the cavalry. Meanwhile, Su Ting and Amu quietly circled around to the grove, preparing to execute their plan.

They moved quickly through the woods, searching for a suitable spot. Finally, they chose a small hill overlooking the valley.

"Are the flints ready?" Su Ting asked in a low voice.

Amu nodded, took out a flint from his backpack, and lit some dry grass. Then, he threw a few stones into the burning grass, causing a crackling sound.

The fire spread rapidly, and thick smoke billowed into the air. Soon, the cavalrymen in the valley noticed the commotion and turned to rush over.

"We succeeded!" Su Ting cheered softly, and the two quickly retreated, hiding deep in the dense forest.

When the cavalrymen reached the hill, they found only a small wildfire with no other suspicious signs. However, they were still not complacent. They left a few men to continue searching the valley, while the rest split into two groups and dispersed in all directions.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Su Ting and Amu went down the slope from the other side, quickly crossed the path, and ran towards the mountain peak ahead.

Soon, they met up with Xiao Shi. Xiao Shi breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the two return safely: "They've been lured away, but we'd better get out of here quickly."

The three hurried along the path and finally crossed the mountain ridge, where a dense forest appeared before them. The huge trees blocked out the sky, and sunlight could only filter through the sparse leaves to cast dappled shadows.

“The Demon Sheath Jungle is just ahead,” Amu wiped the sweat from his forehead. “Be careful once you go in; the dangers here aren’t just limited to wild beasts.”

Su Ting nodded, a strange excitement welling up inside him. He knew that although the journey was full of unknowns, as long as they worked together, they would definitely find the final fragment of the Silver Moon.

The three continued onward, passing through layers of dense bushes. Suddenly, a sharp whistle rang out from the treetops.

"Someone's here!" Amu warned in a low voice.

The three immediately stopped and looked around warily. Several elven warriors in green armor leaped down from the trees and surrounded them.

"Halt! Who are you? What are you doing here?" the leading elven warrior asked coldly, holding a longbow with an arrow already nocked.

Su Ting took a deep breath and calmly stepped forward: "I am Su Ting. We have come here to find the Ice God Temple on the Northern Ice Plains. We mean no harm, please trust us."

The elven warrior sized them up, seemingly weighing his options. Just then, a young elven woman emerged from the shadows, her eyes gentle yet tinged with wariness.

Chapter 857 Can Never Come Back

"Are you really here for the Ice God Temple?" she asked slowly.

“Yes,” Su Ting replied, “we have found two fragments of the Silver Moon Tear, and the last one is in the North Ice Plains. We need to find it.”

The elven woman pondered for a moment, then looked at her companions. She seemed to be seeking their opinions.

“We can help you,” she finally said, “but you must promise that once you find the last piece, you must leave this forest immediately and never come back.”

“We promise you,” Su Ting said firmly, “we just want to stop Drucker from using the Silver Moon Tear to control the demonic tide.”

The elven woman nodded, signaling her companions to let them pass. She then walked up to Su Ting and handed him a simple map.

“This is a map of the route to the Arctic,” she said. “There will be many dangers along the way, so good luck.”

Su Ting took the map and nodded gratefully, "Thank you, we will remember your help."

The three continued onward, traversing dense vines and tall bushes. As night fell, they found a secluded spot to set up camp and rest.

By the campfire, Su Ting looked at the map in his hand, pondering the journey ahead. Amu checked the weapons beside him, while Xiao Shi silently packed his bags.

“Tomorrow we will enter the depths of the Demon Sheath Forest,” Su Ting broke the silence. “Everyone must be extra careful.”

“No problem,” Xiao Shi said firmly. “As long as we can find the last piece, we’re not afraid of any difficulties.”

Amu nodded: "We will definitely succeed."

The three exchanged a glance, their hearts filled with determination. The flames flickered in the night wind, illuminating their resolute faces.

The next morning, sunlight filtered through the dense foliage, illuminating Su Ting and his companions. They quickly ate some dry rations, packed their belongings, and continued their journey. Su Ting held a map, comparing it to the surrounding terrain to ensure every step was precise.

“According to this map, we can reach the edge of the Arctic by crossing this jungle,” Sutin said.

Amu nodded and gripped his longsword tightly: "Then let's set off."

Xiao Shi followed closely behind, cautiously observing his surroundings. Every sound in the Demon Sheath Forest terrified him, but in order to find the last fragment of the Silver Moon Tear, he could only grit his teeth and continue forward.

They walked along a narrow path, surrounded by tall trees and dense vines. Occasionally, a gust of wind would blow, rustling the leaves as if something were lurking in the shadows.

“The atmosphere here is so oppressive,” Xiao Shi said in a low voice. “I feel like something is watching us.”
