“Yes, let’s work together.” Leah nodded with a smile. “No matter how many difficulties we face in the future, we will overcome them one by one.”

"Well said." Kevin clapped his hands. "We're the best team."

What happened in Chapter 914?

“That’s right,” Aiden echoed. “With you guys by my side, I’m not afraid of any challenge.”

"Then let's face tomorrow's challenges together," Su Ting said with a smile. "Now, everyone, get some rest and recharge your energy."

"Okay," everyone responded in unison.

As night fell, the camp gradually quieted down. Each person's face radiated determination and anticipation as they awaited the new day to come.

Night deepened, and the firelight flickered gently in the breeze. Su Ting lay in the tent, unable to fall asleep. He turned over slightly, gazing at the tent ceiling, lost in thought.

Suddenly, the silence of the night was broken by a series of light footsteps. Su Ting sat up alertly, quickly grabbed the longsword beside the bed, and cautiously peeked out. He saw Lena standing silently outside the tent, holding a short dagger, her eyes fixed on her surroundings.

"What happened?" Su Ting asked softly, so as not to alert his other companions.

"It's nothing, I just feel like something's not right," Lena replied softly. "I heard some strange noises just now, maybe it's just my imagination."

“We should be careful.” Su Ting nodded, stood up, put on his coat, and followed Lena out of the tent.

Moonlight streamed across the open ground, and the babbling brook could still be heard clearly. The two cautiously surveyed the area but found nothing amiss. Yet, for some reason, a lingering unease remained within them.

"Let's go back, we still have a long journey ahead tomorrow," Lena said softly.

“Okay, let’s go.” Su Ting nodded and returned to their respective tents with Lena.

The first rays of morning sunlight pierced through the trees, illuminating every corner of the campsite. Suting was the first to wake up, starting to pack his gear and prepare breakfast. Kevin, Leah, and Aiden also got up one after another, rubbing their sleepy eyes as they joined the busy morning.

"What's for breakfast today?" Kevin asked curiously, rubbing his stomach.

“I brought some dry rations and wild fruits,” Su Ting replied, “enough for us to have a meal on the road.”

After everyone finished a simple breakfast, Su Ting took out a map and began planning the next route. "We need to get to the next city as soon as possible; it's said that there's important intelligence we need there."

“Let’s set off then.” Lena stood up and dusted off her clothes. “The sooner we leave, the sooner we’ll arrive.”

"Wait, let's pack up first," Aiden reminded them. "Don't forget anything."

With everyone working together, the campsite was quickly organized and in good order. Tents were packed up, luggage was tidied, and everyone shouldered their backpacks and embarked on their journey to the next city.

The scenery along the way was picturesque. Under the blue sky and white clouds, lush trees surrounded the winding path, and the air was filled with a fresh scent. However, an unknown danger seemed to lurk within this beautiful scenery, and everyone remained highly vigilant.

"Do you think our mission this time will be very difficult?" Leah asked softly, glancing around warily.

"No matter what, we can handle it." Kevin patted his chest confidently. "We're the best team!"

“That’s right,” Aiden agreed. “As long as we have confidence, there is no difficulty that we cannot overcome.”

"Alright, there's a small village ahead. Let's rest there for a bit before continuing," Su Ting said, pointing ahead.

They entered the small village, where the villagers warmly welcomed them. Su Ting asked an older villager for directions: "Excuse me, sir, how far is it from here to Renault?"

Chapter 915 Increasingly Unfamiliar

"Oh, young man, you must be from out of town?" The old man smiled. "This is the road you're going to take. Follow this path north for about three days and three nights to reach Renault. This road has been quite dangerous lately, so be careful."

“Thank you for reminding us,” Su Ting said gratefully. “We will be careful.”

They rested briefly in the small village, replenished their food and water, and then continued on their way. As time went by, the surrounding environment became increasingly unfamiliar, and the path became more and more rugged and difficult to traverse.

As evening fell, they finally arrived at the entrance of a cave. Su Ting stopped and looked into the depths of the cave. "How about we spend the night here? It's safer inside, and we can avoid the cold winds of the wilderness."

“Good idea.” Lena nodded in agreement. “I’ll go in and take a look first.”

Lena entered the cave alone, carefully surveying her surroundings. A moment later, she returned. "It's quite spacious inside, with enough room for us to set up camp."

“Then let’s go in,” Su Ting said.

Inside the cave, it was warm and dry. The group sat around the campfire, sharing their food and feelings. Aiden pulled out a tattered map, pointed to the markings on it, and said, "According to this map, we should be close to our destination."

“Yes, perseverance leads to victory,” Kevin laughed. “We’re about to see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

“That’s right.” Leah nodded with a smile. “As long as we all work together, there’s nothing we can’t do.”

As night fell, the cave grew even quieter. Everyone felt a deep sense of trust and support for one another. Su Ting gazed at the leaping flames, his heart filled with hope.

"I believe tomorrow will be even better," Lena said softly.

"Yes, we definitely will," Su Ting replied firmly. "Let's work hard together."

“Yes, let’s cheer each other on,” Lia echoed with a smile.

"Well said!" Kevin clapped his hands. "We are the best team!"

“That’s right,” Aiden said with a smile. “No matter how many challenges we face in the future, we will be able to overcome them one by one.”

"Then let's face the new challenges together," Su Ting smiled. "Now, everyone, get some rest and recharge your energy."

"Okay," everyone responded in unison.

As the conversation grew quieter, each person's heart was filled with anticipation and faith. They knew that tomorrow would be a brand new day, full of hope and the unknown.

As night deepened, the campfire inside the cave grew much dimmer. Su Ting closed his eyes, trying to drift off to sleep, but his thoughts were as unruly as a wild horse. Suddenly, he heard a faint sound, as if something was stirring in the shadows.

Su Ting immediately sat up alertly and quickly grabbed the longsword beside him. He gently patted Reina beside him and asked softly, "Did you hear something?"

Lena opened her eyes abruptly and heard the faint, eerie sound. She quickly stood up, gripped the short dagger in her hand, and whispered, "Let's go take a look."

The two cautiously approached the source of the sound. The cave was pitch black, with only a faint firelight flickering behind them. As they drew nearer, suddenly, a blurry figure appeared in the darkness, accompanied by a low roar.

"It's a wolf!" Lena exclaimed in a low voice, her short dagger already raised, ready to deal with any possible attack.

Chapter 916 The Roar of Anger

Just then, Su Ting swiftly brandished his longsword, a flash of cold light forcing the figure back. The giant gray wolf retreated a few steps, letting out an even angrier roar, but seemed intimidated by Su Ting's imposing aura, and did not advance further for a moment.

"Su Ting, watch out!" Kevin's voice came from behind. He had obviously heard the commotion and rushed over to help.

“It’s alright, I can handle it,” Su Ting said firmly, while remaining vigilant and ready to respond to any possible attack.

At this moment, the wolves seemed to sense the danger, emerging from the shadows with fierce glints in their eyes. Numerous gray wolves surrounded the three, forming concentric circles of encirclement.

“We need a plan,” Lena said nervously. “We can’t fight off so many wolves.”

"Retreat back into the cave first!" Su Ting decisively ordered, while gesturing for the others to prepare their weapons. "We'll set up defenses around the fire; the firelight can temporarily scare them away."

The three quickly retreated back into the cave to rejoin Leah and Aiden. Everyone gathered around the campfire, forming a defensive line with their various weapons. Although the wolf pack was numerous, they were clearly wary of the firelight, lingering outside its glow and unwilling to approach easily.

“We have to find a way to break through,” Su Ting said in a low voice. “These wolves won’t give up easily.”

“I have an idea,” Aiden suggested. “We can use the terrain here to find an exit and go around to get out.”

“Good idea,” Su Ting agreed. “Let’s move out now. Lena, you lead the way. Kevin, protect Leah.”

"Understood," Lena nodded in response, then led the group deeper into the cave. Aiden, meanwhile, groped his way ahead, searching for a possible exit.

After some exploration, they finally discovered a narrow passage hidden in a crevice in the rocks. Although the passage was not wide, it was wide enough for them to pass through.

“Everyone stay close to me,” Lena whispered, and was the first to climb into the passage, followed by Sutin, Kevin, and Leah, with Aiden bringing up the rear to ensure everyone could pass safely.

Struggling through the narrow passage, the group could barely breathe and could only move forward with the faint light of their flashlights. Finally, they saw a glimmer of light, meaning the exit was near.

"We're almost there," Su Ting encouraged in a low voice. "Everyone, just hang in there a little longer."

The group climbed out of the passage one by one and stood on an open area outside. The moon was already high in the sky, and its cool light illuminated the surroundings. The wolves did not seem to be chasing them.

"We did it." Lena breathed a sigh of relief and smiled slightly.

“That’s wonderful,” Leah said happily. “We’re all safe now.”

“But we can’t let our guard down,” Su Ting cautioned. “We still need to keep moving forward and find Renault City.”

“Yes, we can’t stop,” Kevin said firmly. “We will definitely complete the mission!”

"Let's go, let's keep going before dawn," Su Ting said.

"Alright!" everyone responded in unison, shouldered their backpacks again, and embarked on their journey to Renault.

As they disappeared into the distance, the forest remained silent in the night, broken only by the occasional chirping of birds and the distant murmur of flowing water. Their hearts were filled with anticipation and unwavering faith in the unknown future.

Chapter 917 The Sound of Gentle Breathing

They continued on, the night deepening. The moon hung higher in the sky, its light seeming softer. Occasionally, the faint breathing of Leah and the soft rustling of Aiden's footsteps through the grass could be heard from within the group. Sutin led the way, pausing now and then to listen for any sounds around him, making sure no enemy was stealthily approaching.

"Su Ting, how far do you think we have to go?" Lena's voice broke the silence, tinged with exhaustion. "I can hardly walk anymore."

"It's almost there, I feel like we're not far off," Su Ting comforted him, though he himself wasn't entirely sure. "Just hang in there, Renault City is just ahead."

Kevin stepped forward and patted Lena on the shoulder: "Take a break, let me look at the map."

“Good idea.” Su Ting nodded in agreement. “Let’s rest here for five minutes, then continue on our way.”

They found a secluded hill, put down their backpacks, and sat down to rest. Aiden took out some dry rations from his backpack and distributed them to everyone, who ate silently to replenish their strength. Leah leaned against a rock, closed her eyes, and rested for a moment, while Kevin studied the map carefully.

“The terrain here is complicated, we must be careful,” Kevin said, pointing to several marks on the map. “There’s a river here, we can walk along the riverbank, that would be safer.”

“Then let’s walk along the river,” Su Ting said. “The river will provide us with water and also help us conceal our presence.”
